Chapter 244 - The Divine Vessel

Golden sunlight filtered through the towering trees of the Sun People's realm, casting long beams of light across the clearing where the members of the Black Sun Syndicate sat in meditation. The immense pressure of soul energy lingering in the air had become easier to endure, though it still weighed upon them like an invisible ocean.

Eryndor slowly rose from his seated position. The storm energy within him flowed differently now. It no longer felt wild or untamed. Every strand of lightning, every current of wind, and every trace of darkness moved in harmony with his soul.

Sera watched him quietly from beneath the shade of a golden tree. Her hazel-black eyes reflected approval.

A small smile appeared on her face.

"Did you finally realize what I said earlier?"

Eryndor looked toward her.

The answer came without hesitation.

"Yeah."

His gaze drifted toward the sky overhead.

"To understand your power, you first have to understand your soul."

The storm energy surrounding his body flickered softly.

"And to do that, you have to make that power yours."

He clenched his hand slowly.

"You have to stop treating it as something separate from yourself."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"You tap into your soul and allow the power to become an extension of who you are."

Sera's smile widened.

"Good."

Her voice carried genuine satisfaction.

"You're finally beginning to think like a deity."

As her words faded, the scene shifted.

Dova stood within a vast palace forged from black stone.

The structure stretched endlessly toward a crimson horizon where scarlet clouds churned above a blood-red sky. Massive pillars lined the grand hall, each engraved with ancient symbols that seemed to twist whenever he looked directly at them.

At the far end of the palace sat a solitary figure upon a dark throne.

The man possessed long black hair that flowed over his shoulders like liquid darkness. Crimson eyes burned beneath heavy brows, carrying an ancient authority that made the entire palace feel insignificant.

The moment Dova's gaze met his, the atmosphere trembled.

The man rested his chin against one hand.

"Are you finally ready to inherit the Will of Entropy, Dova Nexus?"

Dova remained calm.

His answer came immediately.

"Yes."

The figure smiled.

Then he stood.

The simple motion alone caused the palace to shake.

"I am Chaos."

The crimson eyes glowed brighter.

"The God of Sin."

A suffocating pressure spread throughout the hall.

"The Origin of Entropy."

Dova felt every instinct in his body scream at him.

Yet he remained standing.

Chaos nodded approvingly.

"Good."

He descended from the throne.

"The formation of a God Core requires more than energy."

His voice echoed through the palace.

"It requires understanding."

"It requires acceptance."

"It requires your soul."

He stopped directly before Dova.

"That is why you meditate."

With a snap of his fingers, reality shattered.

The palace vanished.

Dova found himself standing inside his own domain.

Countless fragments of broken worlds floated throughout an endless void while streams of crimson energy drifted through the darkness like rivers of blood.

Chaos stood nearby.

"Sit."

Dova obeyed.

"Close your eyes."

He did.

The god's voice echoed around him.

"Break the core you formed when you awakened."

Dova frowned.

Destroy his core?

For a brief moment, hesitation surfaced.

Then he remembered why he had come here.

Without another thought, he reached inward.

Crack.

The core shattered.

Instantly, unimaginable pain erupted throughout his body.

It felt as though every vein, every bone, and every nerve was being ripped apart from within.

Outside in reality, blood spilled from the corner of Dova's mouth.

His body trembled violently.

Nearby, several members of the Syndicate opened their eyes in alarm.

Yet Dova remained seated.

Inside his consciousness, the agony only intensified.

The energy released by the broken core flooded his body like molten metal.

Dova gritted his teeth.

His vision blurred.

His muscles convulsed.

Still he endured.

Slowly, the violent energy spread throughout every inch of his being.

Then something changed.

The chaos began to settle.

The countless streams of power converged once more.

Gathering.

Compressing.

Refining.

Becoming purer.

Denser.

Stronger.

At the center of his soul, a new structure began to form.

A God Core.

Chaos watched the process silently.

Then a smile appeared on his face.

"Good."

The newly formed core pulsed.

Its energy felt fundamentally different.

Far beyond what he possessed before.

Chaos folded his arms.

"Listen carefully."

His voice became serious.

"You are now a divine being."

He paused.

"Though you possess small traces of anti-divinity."

Dova's eyes opened.

Chaos continued.

"Entropy is the ability to bring anything to its end state."

The surrounding void darkened.

"A structure."

"A weapon."

"A body."

"A soul."

His crimson eyes locked onto Dova.

"With enough understanding, all things eventually end."

The words carried frightening certainty.

"Your soul power is Entropy's Will."

The energy around Dova trembled.

"Soon, you will not even require physical contact."

Dova remained silent.

Chaos' expression hardened.

"But be careful."

The warning carried unusual weight.

"If your mind is weak…"

The crimson horizon cracked.

"…entropy will begin with you."

Dova felt a chill run through his body.

Chaos pointed toward his head.

"It starts here."

"Your mental plane."

"Control yourself."

"Or your power will consume everything you are."

Elsewhere.

A white bridge stretched endlessly across a sea of silver light.

Countless translucent souls drifted beneath it like glowing stars flowing through a celestial river.

The atmosphere felt peaceful.

Timeless.

Sacred.

Tina walked slowly along the bridge, her footsteps barely making a sound against the pristine surface.

The further she walked, the more souls she saw.

Thousands.

Millions.

Perhaps even more.

Then she noticed someone sitting quietly near the edge of the bridge.

A woman.

Her silver hair cascaded down her back while pale robes danced gently in a wind Tina could not feel.

The woman stared peacefully at the river of souls below.

Without turning around, she spoke.

"It's a beautiful place, isn't it?"

Tina approached slowly.

Her eyes drifted across the endless sea of souls.

"Yes."

The answer escaped her naturally.

The woman smiled.

"Sit with me."

Tina lowered herself beside her.

For several moments, neither spoke.

They simply watched the souls pass beneath them.

Eventually, the woman broke the silence.

"I am Ishae."

She looked toward Tina.

"The Keeper of the Soul Passage."

A faint smile appeared.

"And a descendant of Yakuza, the God of Death."

Recognition flashed through Tina's eyes.

"It's good to finally meet you properly."

Ishae laughed softly.

"The timing wasn't right before."

Her silver eyes became thoughtful.

"A true Low Deity is little different from a mortal in the eyes of us Demi-Gods."

Tina couldn't even argue.

After witnessing Sera's power, she understood exactly what Ishae meant.

The keeper leaned back slightly.

"But things are different now."

Tina blinked.

"What do you mean?"

Ishae pointed toward the endless river below.

"You possess the potential to directly draw power from the Soul Passage itself."

Tina frowned.

"Isn't that what I've been doing already?"

The response caused Ishae to laugh.

A genuine laugh.

"No."

She shook her head.

"Not even close."

Tina's eyes widened.

Ishae gestured toward the souls drifting beneath them.

"You've merely been using soul magic."

The river glowed brighter.

"The presence of souls here makes that easy."

Her expression became serious.

"But the Soul Passage itself is something entirely different."

Tina stared at the endless silver waters.

A strange feeling settled within her chest.

As though something below was calling her.

Waiting for her.

Ishae slowly stood.

The bridge seemed to illuminate around her.

She extended a hand toward the river beneath them.

"Jump into the water."

Tina froze.

The silver current flowed endlessly below.

Ishae's gaze remained calm.

"Form your God Core."

The souls beneath the bridge glowed brighter.

"Only then will you understand."

Her voice echoed across the endless passage.

"Only then will you wield your true soul magic."

The silver river churned.

For the briefest moment, Tina thought she saw countless hands reaching upward from within its depths.

Ishae's eyes narrowed.

"That power is called Soul Structure."

The entire Soul Passage seemed to tremble.

"The ability to interact with a soul…"

Her voice became almost reverent.

"…physically and spiritually."

The silver river roared.

"On any level."

Tina stared into the endless waters below.

And for the first time since arriving, she felt both excitement…and fear.
