Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: [Mist Gang ARC] The Night of Disappearance

Chapter 79 (Part 10)

The victory did not feel like victory.

Not to Alok.

Not to Ravel.

And not to the world that had quietly begun to move.

After the Match

The hall slowly returned to noise.

Students whispered.

Teachers regained control.

Names were written.

Selections confirmed.

But for those who had witnessed it

Something had changed.

Not just in strength.

But in balance.

Alok walked out of the hall without looking back.

No celebration.

No reaction.

Just silence.

Rihan followed quickly.

"…you didn't even get hit."

Alok didn't answer immediately.

His hand rested lightly over his chest.

The pendant was still warm.

"…it wasn't a fight," he said quietly.

Rihan frowned.

"Then what was it?"

Alok's gaze drifted slightly.

Distant.

Unreachable.

"…a difference."

The One Left Behind

Inside the hall

Ravel hadn't moved.

Not immediately.

He slowly pushed himself up.

Ignoring the hands offered to help him.

Ignoring the eyes watching him.

Ignoring the whispers around him.

Ignoring everything

Except one thing.

The memory.

One hit.

His jaw tightened.

His breathing steadied.

But his thoughts

Did not.

That wasn't strength…

That wasn't normal…

What… are you…?

For the first time in years

Ravel didn't feel anger explode.

It sank.

Deep.

Heavy.

Cold.

And then

It changed.

That Night The Meeting

The city did not sleep.

Not completely.

There were always places

Where light didn't reach.

An abandoned structure stood at the edge of Castrone.

Half broken.

Half forgotten.

Fully silent.

Ravel stood there.

Alone.

Or so it seemed.

"You came."

The voice didn't echo.

It didn't travel.

It simply

existed.

Ravel didn't turn immediately.

"…I didn't come here to talk."

A soft chuckle followed.

Low.

Amused.

From the shadows

A figure stepped forward.

Tall.

Lean.

Presence heavy.

Not loud.

But suffocating.

The Mist Gang Leader.

"You lost."

Simple.

Direct.

No mockery.

Just truth.

Ravel's fists tightened.

"…don't say it like you understand."

The leader tilted his head slightly.

"I don't need to understand."

A pause.

"I only need to see."

Silence settled between them.

Thick.

Uncomfortable.

Then

Ravel spoke again.

Lower this time.

"…I need power."

The leader's eyes sharpened slightly.

"Power?"

A faint smile.

"Or revenge?"

Ravel didn't answer.

Because both were the same now.

The Proposal

The leader stepped closer.

Slow.

Measured.

"You can't defeat him directly."

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Just fact.

Ravel's jaw clenched.

But he didn't deny it.

"So," the leader continued,

"you attack something else."

A pause.

Then

A name.

Softly spoken.

"His weakness."

Ravel's eyes shifted.

"…what do you mean?"

The leader smiled.

Cold.

Calculating.

"Everyone has something they protect."

A step closer.

"And when that's taken away"

A whisper.

"They break."

The Target

A photo was placed in Ravel's hand.

Small.

Simple.

But enough.

A girl.

Smiling.

Innocent.

Unaware.

Alok's little sister.

Ravel stared at it.

His grip tightened slightly.

"…you want me to"

"Decide."

The leader cut him off.

Calm.

Unbothered.

"This is your choice."

A pause.

Then

"But understand this..."

His voice dropped.

Lower.

Darker.

"Once you step into this…"

"…there is no going back."

The Decision

Silence.

The wind moved through the broken structure.

Carrying dust.

Carrying weight.

Ravel looked at the photo again.

His expression

Unreadable.

Then

Slowly

He closed his hand.

Decision made.

The Night Moves

Far from that place

In a quiet neighborhood

A house stood peacefully.

Lights warm.

Curtains drawn.

Life normal.

Too normal.

A shadow moved.

Then another.

Then more.

No sound.

No warning.

The Mist Gang

had already begun.

Final Scene

Inside his room

Alok suddenly opened his eyes.

The pendant burned.

Violently.

Gold and violet

Clashing.

Colliding.

His breath stopped.

His chest tightened.

"…no…no..."

A feeling.

Sharp.

Clear.

Terrifying.

Not distant anymore.

Close.

Too close.

"…something's wrong."

And somewhere in the darkness

a door quietly opened.

Inside that silence…

something was already too late.
