"You're not going to come in?"
Alex turned to his sister, who was frozen at the door of their house. In response, she took a deep breath, and they entered the house.
"Lúcia."
Before they could both get a good look at the interior of their own house, a girl jumped at Lúcia like a cat, hugging her tightly.
"Mónica, take it easy. You're suffocating me."
Lúcia patted the back of her friend, who was hugging her with great force.
"I was so worried I couldn't even close my eyes. How are you? Are you okay?"
Lúcia took a look at her friend, who had swollen eyes and dark shadows forming beneath them.
"Am I okay?"
Alex watched their interaction and showed a small smile. He had been through a lot in the last few days, and finally, he could rest after worrying so much.
"Alex, why did you take so long? I was imagining the worst. Finally, you arrived safe and sound." Mónica looked at Alex and said with puffed cheeks.
