Chapter 105 - One Brick at a Time

The Demon King's sword came down like a falling mountain.

Edward threw himself sideways, the displaced air from the strike tearing a gash across his cheek. Beside him, Arthur barely got his shield up in time. The impact sent him skidding back ten feet across the stone, boots carving twin furrows into the cobblestones.

Aeris was already moving, her spells finding the gaps between the black armour's plates. Each one struck true. Each one dissolved against the metal like rain hitting coal.

"It's not working," Arthur gasped, blood running freely from a cut above his brow. "Nothing we throw at it even slows it down."

Edward had already drawn the same conclusion. He had known from the moment those crimson eyes swept across them.
