Chapter 10 - The Silent Satan (1).

"WHAT?!... A STRAIGHT FLUSH?!...AGAIN?!...HOW?!" screamed Mujin as his jaw almost fell to the ground and his eyes almost came out of their sockets.

Kaelen shrugged, "I don't know, Guess I am lucky."

"Lucky?!... Are you sure you don't have a sort of probability alteration powers? Because ain't no way..." Protested Mujin as he looked down at the table in pure confusion before taking a deep breath. "Aaaaah, whatever, anyway, I got tired of that game."

"You wanna play some other games?" Asked Kaelen.

"...Sure, why not?" answered Mujin, "And this time, I won't hold back."

...

...

...

"...140-0...I lost 140-0," said Mujin as he was now crouched in one of the corners of the room. The air around him was filled with a deep sense of depression.

Kaelen raised his hands as he tried to cheer him up, while he also sweated a little.

"Don't feel like that, they were just games, and it was all luck, trust me," Said Kaelen as he kept trying to cheer up Mujin.

But to be honest, Kaelen was confused as well. How might he have managed to win all those games without breaking a single sweat? Could that really be luck or...suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by a loud and low-toned growl coming from his stomach, which made him blush a little out of embarrassment.

Blush that quickly died down as an ever louder growl came from Mujin's direction, as the deep sense of depression surrounding him had completely disappeared.

"Oh, I'm hungry," Said Mujin, looking down at his stomach.

Kaelen looked at the side, towards the clock on the wall.

"I guess we played for so much that it came lunch time," he said.

"I see, well, let's cook something then...do you want some spicy udons?" asked Mujin.

"Yeah, sure, I would really like that actually," answered Kaelen.

"Very well, let's get to work then,"

And so, they started to cook some nice, spicy udons.

And just after a few minutes, the air inside their house was getting mixed with an amazing smell.

Kaelen sniffed the air as he felt his mouth starting to water.

"Wow, since when did you know how to cook like this?" Asked Kaelen with wide eyes.

"Avos taught me, he is a natural at cooking, and trust me, this is nothing compared to what he can do...still, it doesn't mean this isn't good either," Said Mujin as he finished the last things before filling two bowls with the fuming udons.

He then placed the bowls on the table before sitting in front of one of them.

Kaelen approached the table as well and sat opposite Mujin as he was eyeing that bowl like a kid who had just seen a candy stall.

Mujin chuckled.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Have a nice meal, my friend." He said as he then started to slurp his udon with hunger, "sheeeeeeesh, they came so tasty, I'm proud of myself."

Kaelen didn't hold himself back either; he slurped on them with pure gusto as his eyes then went wide again, "Amazing! They are delicious. I must ask Avos to teach me as well."

"Hey, that's a great Idea, I bet he would be quite happy to do it," said then Mujin as he took another long slurp of his spicy udon.

But then, something caught Mujin's eyes.

A glint, coming from outside a window and aimed at Kaelen.

An instant later, Mujin heard the window shatter, so he quickly wrapped his arm around Kaelen's head and pulled it towards him as he felt something grazing his knuckle and leaving a small crimson line of blood on it before they both heard the sound of something getting stabbed into the wood.

They both turned towards the direction from which that stabbing sound came, as they could both see a knife embedded deeply into the wall.

Someone had thrown that knife at such speed and power that it could penetrate the window and the wooden wall on the opposite side.

"What the..." exclaimed Kaelen as a dark, blur-shaped presence appeared behind him.

Mujin's eyes went wide and quickly leaped behind Kaelen, wrapping his arms around his body to protect him.

As the attack landed, Mujin and Kaelen were both sent flying towards the wall, piercing it with their bodies and landing outside.

They rolled a little on the ground before they finally stopped.

Mujin let go of Kaelen and spat at the other side something.

From the hole in the house, then, Mujin and Kaelen could see a man coming out from the dusty cloud.

He was a relatively tall man with a dark assassin suit. He had a neck mask covering his mouth and his nose, and two blades behind his back. He also had chin-long smooth hair, an almost pale skin tone, and two red, flaming eyes, which also had big eye bags under them, and looked pretty much tired.

He sighed.

"Ah, Dammit, I guess my surprise attack has failed, that's too bad, I wanted to make this quick so I could return home and eat, I'm starving." Said the Man while looking at Kaelen and Mujin on the ground. "Oh well, whatever, let's get over with this already."

Kaelen coughed a little as he looked at the man inside the house.

"What the...who are you?" he said, clenching his teeth.

"Who am I doesn't concern you, Kiddo...I'm here to do my job and return home," answered the man, looking down at Kaelen.

"Why? Who sent you?" asked Kaelen with a serious tone of voice.

"I can't tell you, of course, what did you expect? Why do all people keep asking me who I work for? I'm an assassin, not a sort of delivery guy," He said with a slightly bothered tone before sighing back. "Well, whatever, now..."

"You are the Silent Satan..." suddenly said Mujin as he slowly raised his head and looked at the man inside the house, "...and the one who sent you is Prince Draeven."

The man's eyes widened a little.

"How in the...?" he started, but then he stopped as he returned to his tired glare. "Well, no matter, again, let's just get..."

But Mujin interrupted him again.

"...Mamoru Mabataki...that's your true name tho..." added Mujin.

The Man's eyes widened even more as he looked at Mujin, flabbergasted.

"How did you recognize me? My face is completely hidden by my mask and my...hood," Said Mamoru as he looked at the side where Mujin spat something.

His hood.

There was a long and tense silence before Mamoru sighed and then returned to his tired self.

"Ah, double dammit, now this is a problem...well, no matter, anyway...I was here to kill you"
