Zanna Vance got off work a bit late today. She was riding her electric scooter out of the hospital gate when a car blocked her path after a few minutes.
The black sedan stopped by the roadside, preventing her from passing.
Zanna frowned unhappily and saw the car door open as two tall and imposing men got out. One was wearing a floral shirt, the other a black T-shirt, looking like an assistant.
The man in the floral shirt swaggered over to Zanna with his hands in his pockets, exuding a streetwise demeanor.
"The Great Dr. Vance, you're leaving work quite late today, huh? When are you going to pay me this month's money?" The man lit a cigarette, glancing at her sideways.
Zanna's face remained calm, seemingly accustomed to this.
"My mom spent some money on her medical treatment this month, and my monthly salary isn't much. I'm afraid I can't repay you this month." Her tone was flat, neither humble nor arrogant.
