Hearing Ethan say that, Serena shot him a glare, annoyed. "What a jinx."
Ethan didn't say anything, just hooked his lips in a smile. This little girl usually looked pretty sharp; how come she couldn't see it? Nathan deliberately wore that "old-fashioned" outfit from yesterday, which meant he hadn't taken this blind date seriously at all.
On the other side, Mia finished chattering away, only to see the man opposite still sitting there as straight as a statue, with no intention of responding.
She took a sip of water and smiled, poised and generous. "You're probably not that interested in this stuff. Sorry, I talked too much."
Mia nodded apologetically. This Nathan Sutton really was too cold. She'd been talking here for so long all by herself, and he hadn't said a single word. Looks like she could only use her final move.
She had to make him passively get to know her, learn about her strengths. That way, maybe he'd look at her in a new light.
