Cecilia Vaughn had just finished those tasks and was feeling a bit thirsty. She picked up the cup beside her, ready to take a sip, but was suddenly stopped by Adrian Law.
"Cecilia, that's mine..."
The man, with a playful smile, stared at Cecilia Vaughn. Feeling defiant, she simply drank from Adrian Law's cup.
"So what if I drink a couple of sips of your water? Why not?"
"It's not that you can't..."
Adrian Law dragged out his words, his tone layered with meaning as if Cecilia was a sulking child.
"But I seem to remember someone saying not long ago that they disliked me. Now you seem to have a special liking for my cup? Don't you think it's indirectly..."
"..."
"Wouldn't it be better to keep quiet?"
Feeling exhausted.
Cecilia Vaughn gulped down the tea in the cup and reluctantly explained.
"I don't dislike you, just thought you were too charming, yet after going abroad, how come I became popular?"
"..."
Now it was Adrian Law's turn to be speechless.
