Seeing Cecilia's disdainful eye roll, Adrian Law shook his head with a smile, pulling Cecilia closer.
The man lowered his eyes, gently took Cecilia's left hand, and softly kissed the plum blossom birthmark on her left wrist.
"Cecilia, my mother once said that girls are treasures in this world and shouldn't be confined to the kitchen and stove."
"I'm not that focused on appearances; I just hope you won't be bothered by these trivial things."
Cecilia frowned slightly, thinking that these were surely teachings from Adrian's late mother, Susan Roswell, and indeed, Adrian's explanation was just as she imagined.
Cecilia, afraid to upset Adrian by touching on the past, carefully chose her words and shifted the topic.
"Adrian, then why are you willing to cook yourself? It's not like you lack the money to hire a housekeeper."
After all, those high-profile bosses could always hire a five-star private chef to be at their service around the clock.
Adrian Law was obviously not like that.
