"Miss Shaw, let's talk next time."
Mrs. Quinn bade farewell to Thea Shaw with a calm and gentle smile.
She said "next time," but left no information, making it clear there wouldn't be a next time.
Unless they happened to meet by chance.
Thea Shaw didn't press, she smiled back and said goodbye to Mrs. Quinn.
The girl didn't introduce herself either, she linked arms with Serena Quinn and left, the two of them close as if mother and daughter.
But Mrs. Quinn had just mentioned she didn't have children.
And this girl kept looking at Thea Shaw with wary eyes, even as she walked away she glanced back several times.
As if guarding against a thief.
Thea Shaw wondered if she appeared like one of those manipulative girls with an agenda.
She was simply investigating some information!
In their conversation, if there was an issue, Thea Shaw didn't sense it, she really didn't have enough information.
