Chapter 132 - Chapter 132 – The Dimension Shake

The silence after their clash felt unnatural—too empty for a battlefield that had just witnessed the collision of two raging forces. Blue sparks drifted lazily in the air, dissolving like snowflakes melting on warm skin, while faint red embers floated downward like dying fireflies. Akira stood in the center of that fading storm. His sword hummed in his hand—a low, almost mournful vibration that pulsed along his bones. It wasn't pain that made his arm tremble. It was reality struggling to adjust to the overwhelming power that had just been unleashed.

Kaerath was still standing too, a few meters away, half-kneeling with one hand pressed against the cracked earth. Red steam rose from his body, curling around him like angry spirits. His fists were burnt at the knuckles from blocking Akira's blue flames directly. Neither of them spoke. Words felt too small for the scale of this moment. The dimension around them seemed to breathe—expanding and contracting—like a living organism unsure whether to withstand their power or collapse entirely.

A low rumble began. At first it was subtle, like the distant thunder before a summer storm. But the tremor grew. Rocks floated upward. Dust vibrated off the ground. Strands of light twisted in the sky where space itself had begun to tear open. Akira tightened his grip on his sword. Kaerath rose slowly, his expression losing its mocking playfulness for the first time. "…What did you do?" Kaerath muttered. Akira didn't answer. He wasn't sure himself. The clash had been instinctive, born from rage, grief, and a resolve he had been building his entire life without realizing it.

The blue flames along his sword flickered—not violently, but quietly, composedly, with the cold dignity of deep ocean waters. It was the kind of power that didn't need to shout. But the dimension heard it anyway. Another crack tore through the sky. A long, jagged fracture that bled white light. Kaerath exhaled sharply. "Tch. You're destabilizing the entire layer. Idiot." Akira's voice came out steady. "If the dimension is shaking… then maybe your end is close." Kaerath glared, red flames swirling around him once more. "You think this is enough to kill me?" "No," Akira said softly. "But it's enough to remind you that I'm not the same person you mocked."

Kaerath didn't get time to reply. Because the world broke. A pulse erupted—an invisible shockwave that burst outward from the center of the battlefield. The ground split open in a perfect circle beneath them. Air pressure collapsed. A high ringing sound filled the space like the shriek of glass shattering. And for a brief, terrifying instant… everything froze. Akira felt weightless. The dust hung unmoving in the air. His heartbeat slowed until it felt like a distant echo inside a cave. Even the blue flame on his sword flickered in slow motion. Time had not stopped. Reality had.

Then it resumed in a single violent snap. Boom—the shockwave expanded outward, ripping apart anything in its path. Towering stone pillars shattered into fragments. Floating debris was vaporized into thin mist. The dimensional walls rippled like water struck by a meteor. Kaerath skidded backward, boots carving two deep trails in the earth. Akira was thrown to the side, rolling across the ground before stabilizing with the blade stabbed into the cracked floor. He inhaled sharply, tasting blood on his tongue. This power… it was beyond anything he had ever touched before. It was beautiful—cold, dignified, merciless. It wasn't rage now. It was purpose.

Far away, at another corner of the battlefield, Li Wei paused mid-strike. His wind technique collapsed in his hand as the sudden disturbance sent a slicing breeze across his face. "What was that…?" Li Wei whispered, eyes widening. Ishita glanced around, grip tightening on her staff. "Energy fluctuation this strong… it's coming from Akira's side." She had known Akira since he was a reckless child in their early training days. She knew his speed, his stubbornness, his flaws. But this—this was something else. Even Lord Ghost Demon paused his assault, turning his head with an amused tilt. "Ah… I recognize this resonance." Li Wei frowned. "What do you mean?" Ghost Demon smiled, the kind of smile that didn't belong on anything humanoid. "A soul-awakening flare. Rare. Dangerous. Usually lethal—to the one using it." Ishita's breath caught. "Akira is…" "Dying?" Ghost Demon finished pleasantly. "Not yet. But that kind of power does not awaken without cost." Li Wei clenched his fists. "We need to go to him." "And expose your back?" Ghost Demon spread his palm, energy swirling. "A foolish idea." But they didn't get time to argue further. Because another tremor rolled through the dimension like thunder rippling across an ocean. Li Wei and Ishita both turned toward the rising smoke. Somewhere inside that chaos—Akira was still fighting. And the dimension was struggling to contain him.

The battlefield around Akira had changed completely. The ground glowed with faint blue cracks, spreading outward like veins. Each step he took caused the lines to brighten. Kaerath noticed the effect and scowled. "You're damaging the layer. Keep this up and everything collapses." Akira wiped blood from his lip, his breathing heavy but stable. "If you're scared, you can leave." Kaerath's gaze sharpened. "You think I fear you? I'm only annoyed I have to end this sooner." He lifted his arm. Red flames erupted around him like a miniature sun. Akira raised his sword. Blue flames curled around the blade in a controlled spiral. Red heat radiated from Kaerath. Blue cold emanated from Akira. Their auras collided without touching, forming a storm where colors clashed in silent hostility. Kaerath smirked. "Let's finish this." Akira nodded. "Yes."

They disappeared simultaneously. Meeting in the middle. Their fists and blade collided—but this time the result was far beyond their last clash. The dimension screamed. A massive fissure split the sky like lightning drawn with a giant hand. The earth beneath them shattered into floating platforms. Waves of energy burst outward, tearing through space like invisible blades. Li Wei staggered as a sudden wind slammed into him. Ishita shielded her face from flying debris. "What—this is insane!" Li Wei shouted over the noise. Ghost Demon's smile widened. "A frightening amount of power in such a small body. His soul is burning brighter than it should." Li Wei's voice trembled. "Is Akira… pushing himself too far?" Ghost Demon didn't blink. "He already passed that point." The entire dimension shook again—stronger than before.

Akira and Kaerath broke apart, landing on opposite fragments of floating stone. Akira's chest heaved. Sweat rolled down his face, mingling with blood. His right eye burned with an icy intensity. His sword felt heavier—not physically, but emotionally, as though it understood the stakes better than he did. Kaerath wiped a thin line of blood from his chin. "Not bad. You're getting irritatingly strong." Akira's voice was low. Controlled. "You killed my family. I won't let you walk away." Kaerath laughed softly. "Family? Those two?" His smile curved cruelly. "They were a distraction. Just like the sister you failed to save." Akira's fingers tightened around the sword. But unlike before, his anger did not explode uncontrollably. It focused—sharpened—into something colder. "If the past defines me," he said quietly, "then I'll use it." Kaerath raised his flaming fists. Akira raised his blue blade. The sky cracked a second time. The rocks around them floated. The air rippled with unstoppable force. The dimension prepared for the next clash. And then—they charged again.
