Chapter 122 - Chapter 122 – The Lord of Time

The void warped around him, a shattered cityscape twisted by temporal distortions. Tokyo's remains hovered in fragments, suspended in a gray haze where time itself seemed to crawl. Rehan floated amid the debris, golden aura flickering as he struggled to maintain control over the unstable fragments. Every movement felt sluggish, as though the world resisted his very existence.

Morgath hovered at the epicenter of the void, green-black aura radiating like a storm of shadows. His eyes glowed with a malevolent light, calm yet terrifying, as he extended his hands. The fragments around Rehan slowed in response, time bending under the demon's command. Each flick of Rehan's sword now required enormous effort; even lifting a single arm felt like lifting a mountain.

"You cannot fight time, Rehan," Morgath hissed, his voice echoing across the warped reality. "Every second you move, every strike you attempt, slows to nothing."

Rehan gritted his teeth, golden aura flaring as he swung his sword. Phantom Severance cut through a fragment of reality, yet the swing felt like it took an eternity. His movements were sluggish, reaction delayed, and yet his resolve burned hotter than ever.

"I… will… survive…!" Rehan gasped, sweat running down his brow, aura blazing like molten gold.

Morgath's lips curled into a smile. "Even the fastest will tire when time itself betrays them."

With a gesture, Morgath expanded the time distortion, fragments freezing midair. The very air thickened; every blink became an eternity. Rehan's body shook under the strain, veins visible beneath his skin as he forced movement through the oppressive weight of slowed time.

"I refuse to be trapped by your tricks," Rehan roared, aura blazing, slicing through the frozen fragments.

He moved his sword with all the precision of a master tactician, destabilizing some fragments enough to reverse their freeze temporarily. It was exhausting work — his aura flickered dangerously low — but every small victory allowed him to inch closer to Morgath.

Meanwhile, in the shattered streets of Tokyo, Hyejin struggled against Kaerath's overwhelming presence. Her frost aura flickered like a dying flame, shards of ice spiraling around her, barely holding the demon at bay.

Akira's cursed sword glimmered with dark energy, each swing meeting Kaerath's defenses with sparks of power. Ethan's golden aura flared, a shield forming to protect Hyejin from the crushing blows of Kaerath's four arms.

"We can't hold him off forever!" Hyejin gasped, frost aura dipping dangerously low.

Kaerath's eyes glimmered with amusement. "So much effort… so little result. Even if you destroy me, it won't matter. Morgath awaits."

Akira's hand tightened around his sword. "Then we fight anyway! Even against impossible odds!"

Kaerath sighed, almost lazily, before slamming the ground with his quadruple fists. Shockwaves tore through the air, tearing up streets and tossing debris toward them. Hyejin braced herself, but the pressure nearly crushed her. Ethan countered with a Solar Nova Strike, flames colliding with Kaerath's black-green aura. Sparks and shards of earth erupted in all directions.

"Keep moving! We can't give him an opening!" Akira shouted, aura flickering as he leapt to shield Hyejin.

High above the ruins, the Lord Ghost Demon's dimensional expansion continued to distort reality. Li Wei and Ishita were battered, the weight of shifting layers forcing them into constant movement.

"You think your attacks matter?" the Ghost Demon sneered, black aura twisting the dimensions into razor-sharp shards.

Li Wei fired Azure Heaven Breaker, arcs of energy slicing through warped air, while Ishita's Scarlet Cataclysm Beam met the fractured dimensions head-on.

"Ishita, focus! We need to stabilize at least one layer!" Li Wei yelled.

The duo managed to anchor a small fragment of space, creating a temporary foothold. But it was only a momentary reprieve. The Ghost Demon's laughter resonated across the skies, bending light and shadow, distorting gravity around them.

"Your determination is commendable… but futile," the Ghost Demon whispered, watching them struggle.

Ishita's aura pulsed crimson, eyes burning. "We survive… no matter what he throws at us!"

Across all battlefronts, the weight of overwhelming power pressed on humanity's last defenders. Rehan fought against temporal manipulation. Kaerath's attacks threatened to shatter Hyejin's resolve. The Ghost Demon's dimension warping continued to crush Li Wei and Ishita.

Each movement was calculated, every strike costly. The air itself seemed to resist them, warping and pulling — a reminder that they were not merely fighting enemies but battling the laws of reality itself.

"We can't falter… not now," Li Wei muttered, dodging a collapsing fragment.

"We fight… even if the world collapses around us," Ishita replied, aura flaring with defiance.

Rehan's blade carved through frozen fragments, golden aura flaring with every strike. Sweat, blood, and raw energy pulsed through him, yet he continued, inching closer to Morgath, defying the impossible.

Morgath's time field expanded, fragments of the void freezing midair. Rehan's muscles screamed in protest, yet he refused to yield.

Kaerath's four arms raised again, preparing a devastating attack. Hyejin's frost aura flickered dangerously low. Akira and Ethan braced for impact, auras pulsing with every ounce of their remaining strength.

The Ghost Demon's dimensions threatened to collapse entirely, black shards of warped reality spinning toward Li Wei and Ishita like deadly blades.

"Even now, you persist," Morgath hissed at Rehan, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. "Impressive… but futile."

Across the fractured battlefield, humanity's last defenders fought against not only demons but time, space, and despair itself. Every pulse of aura, every strike of a sword, was a rebellion against the inevitable.
