Chapter 111 - Chapter 111 – Hyejin vs Kael’Thar & Zerath: The Initial Clash

The fractured streets of Tokyo were a maelstrom of chaos — lava and frost clashing violently, shattered steel and rubble floating as if gravity no longer existed. Hyejin stood at the center, her frost-blue aura flickering, chest heaving, determination burning through exhaustion.

Across the battlefield, Kael'Thar, the Bone Reaper, and Zerath, the Plague Bringer, approached with lethal intent. Their combined power radiated a dark green-black aura that distorted the already fractured terrain.

Kael'Thar hissed, spinning his massive scythe. "Your aura is weak, child. You cannot survive this."

Zerath added, spreading toxic miasma across the cracked streets. "Your frost will rot in my plague."

Hyejin raised her hands, Moonlight Frost Barrier erupting around her in a dome of glimmering ice, steam rising as the heat of the battlefield collided with her frost aura.

"I won't die here!" she shouted, launching frost-tipped daggers at the advancing demons.

Kael'Thar slashed, sending bone shards like missiles through the air. Hyejin blocked with frost blades, but several shards grazed her arms, leaving streaks of blood across her pale skin.

Akira shouted from the side. "Hyejin, hold your ground! I'm coming!"

Charging with Cursed Dragon Fang, he slashed through Kael'Thar's limbs, creating openings for Hyejin to counterattack. Ethan hovered above, Solar Nova Strike blazing, cutting through Zerath's toxic clouds and giving Hyejin breathing room.

"We'll keep you safe… just fight!" Ethan yelled.

Hyejin's aura flared fiercely as she countered with a Moonlight Frost Slash, striking both demons and buying precious seconds. The battlefield was a chaotic ballet of frost, fire, bone, and plague energy, each strike tearing reality apart.

Kael'Thar and Zerath, recognizing Hyejin as the weakest link, focused their assault on her. Kael'Thar's scythe swung in wide arcs, sending shockwaves that shattered the frozen ground beneath her feet. Zerath's miasma thickened, creeping toward her frost dome like a living thing.

"She cannot hold much longer," Zerath hissed. "Her aura bleeds with every breath."

Hyejin gritted her teeth. He was right. Her frost barrier was cracking, steam hissing as the plague ate through the ice. But she refused to fall.

"Then I'll bleed standing!" she screamed.

She redirected her aura, compressing it into a single point. Moonlight Frost Spike — a lance of pure frozen energy — erupted from her palm and pierced through Zerath's miasma, striking his shoulder. The Plague Bringer roared in surprise, green-black blood splattering across the rubble.

Akira seized the opening. He vaulted over a collapsed building and brought his cursed blade down on Kael'Thar's exposed back. The Bone Reaper staggered, skeletal armor cracking under the dark energy.

"Keep pressing!" Akira shouted.

Ethan descended like a meteor, fists wreathed in solar fire. He slammed into Zerath, driving him back with a barrage of blazing punches. Each impact evaporated clouds of plague, forcing the Upper Demon to retreat several meters.

Hyejin gasped, her vision blurring. Her aura was dangerously low — barely a flicker now. But she saw Akira and Ethan pushing the demons back, and something ignited inside her.

"I won't… be a burden."

She raised both hands. Ice crystals formed in the air around her, spinning faster and faster. Glacial Requiem — her last resort. A blizzard erupted from her body, sweeping across the battlefield, freezing everything in its path. Kael'Thar's scythe arm locked mid-swing. Zerath's miasma crystallized into green-black ice shards that clattered to the ground.

Kael'Thar roared, shattering the ice around his arm with raw force. Zerath's plague resumed spreading, slower but unrelenting.

"Impressive… for a dying insect," Kael'Thar growled.

Hyejin collapsed to one knee, frost aura flickering like a dying candle. Akira caught her before she hit the ground.

"You've done enough," he said quietly. "Now let us finish it."

Ethan landed beside them, solar aura flaring. "Together."

The three Wielders stood as one — Hyejin leaning on Akira, her remaining frost energy wrapped around his cursed blade; Ethan blazing like a second sun.

Kael'Thar and Zerath advanced, their combined aura pulsing with renewed fury.

From the void above, the Ghost Demon's crimson light bled through the dimensional cracks. His voice echoed like a death knell.

"The frost wielder breaks. How long can the others last?"

Hyejin raised her head, eyes burning despite the exhaustion.

"Long enough."

The final panel captured the moment: Hyejin, Akira, and Ethan facing the two Upper Demons — frost, curse, and solar light flickering against an endless tide of bone and plague.

The true battle had only just begun.
