Chapter 99 - Chapter 99 – World on Fire

Command Center, Washington D.C.

The world map flickered with red warning zones — one after another lighting up like a spreading disease.

> "Sir, Russia just launched!"

"China's radar confirms multiple ICBMs heading for the Atlantic!"

"EMP strikes incoming!"

The U.S. President slammed his fist against the control panel, his face ghost-pale under the crimson glow of emergency lights.

> "Damn it, we were supposed to end the war — not start it!"

His defense secretary replied quietly, "There's no war left, sir. Just survival."

On the main screen, satellite footage showed nuclear plumes blooming across South America. The airwaves crackled with overlapping transmissions — screams, prayers, static.

> "All B-2 bombers returning negative. The radiation storm has reached upper atmosphere levels."

"Operation Phoenix is a failure."

The President stared at the glowing silhouette of the Lord Ghost Demon, still walking unharmed through the ruins of Brazil.

> "We dropped fifty nuclear warheads," he whispered. "And he's still breathing…"

Kremlin, Moscow

Inside a cold, dim war room, the Russian President poured himself a glass of vodka with trembling hands. His generals surrounded him, faces hardened by years of preparation for war — yet none had prepared for this.

> "America has doomed us all," one spat. "They brought this curse upon the planet."

The President's eyes glinted like steel.

> "Then let the world share the curse."

He pressed a single red button on his command console.

Missile silos across Siberia roared to life, steam and fire erupting into the snow-filled sky.

> "Launch one hundred warheads. Aim at the Atlantic grid. If we fall — we fall as gods, not sheep."

Seconds later, the radar screens lit up with countless icons — Tomahawks, BrahMos, Topol-M, and DF-41 missiles streaking across the skies.

The nuclear retaliation had begun.

Osaka Bunker

Inside the bunker, tremors shook the floor. The world itself was rumbling.

Ishita gripped the railing, her heart racing.

> "They're fighting each other now… even when demons roam free."

Li Wei's eyes closed, voice heavy with sorrow.

> "That is humanity's greatest curse. Fear turns even allies into enemies."

Rehan clenched his fists.

> "Then we fight for them — even if they can't fight for themselves."

Outside the reinforced windows, the sky bled red and gold — the reflection of nuclear fire blooming on distant horizons.

Every explosion carried through the aura field, each detonation feeding more energy into the Ghost Demon's awakening.

The Ghost Demon's Laughter

From the ruins of Brazil, the Lord Ghost Demon stood in silence.

Then, he began to laugh.

It wasn't human. It was deep, echoing — like mountains cracking apart.

> "How poetic… mortals destroying mortals."

"Every bomb they drop, every life they burn… it fuels me."

He raised his clawed hand to the sky.

Thousands of souls — glowing faintly blue — spiraled into his palm. They screamed as they were devoured by the black fire within him.

Kael'Thar knelt beside him, skeletal wings spreading wide.

> "My Lord, your power… it surpasses the old gods."

> "Not yet," Ghost Demon said, looking upward. "But soon."

He pointed toward the heavens — where nuclear missiles streaked through the upper atmosphere like shooting stars.

> "They think their fire belongs to them. Watch… as I reclaim it."

He waved his hand once.

Instantly, dozens of missiles froze midair, suspended as if time itself had stopped. Their guidance systems melted, their metal shells twisted — then turned, reversing direction.

> "Return home."

And the skies erupted as their own weapons rained back on them.

Global Devastation

Moscow. A fiery sun rose prematurely. The Kremlin vanished under a column of light.

Washington D.C.

The Potomac boiled away as three reversed missiles hit the city simultaneously.

Beijing.

An EMP shockwave turned the megacity dark, followed by the white flash of a retaliatory blast.

Paris, London, New Delhi — all caught in the chain reaction of human folly.

The Earth groaned like a dying animal.

Tsunamis hundreds of meters high slammed into coastlines. Ash clouds swallowed the moon.

Radiation storms howled like sand devils over continents.

And above it all, the Ghost Demon spread his wings, drinking in the chaos like a god born from apocalypse.

- Aura Weilders' Resolve

Inside Osaka Bunker, emergency power flickered.

Ethan slammed his hand against the table.

> "How many nukes does it take before they realize — he's feeding on it!"

Akira's cursed sword pulsed black in its sheath.

> "The more destruction they cause, the closer he gets to full resurrection."

Li Wei nodded grimly.

> "Exactly. He's at sixty percent now. If the war continues another week, he'll reach full power."

Ishita's eyes burned with tears — and Scarlet light.

> "Then I'll stop him before that happens."

Rehan looked at her. "How?"

Her voice was steady.

> "By burning brighter than his darkness."

The Last Broadcast

A surviving radio station in Iceland transmitted the last clear signal before global communication died.

> "This is Aurora Station, broadcasting to whoever's left… Major cities are gone… North America and Europe — silent. The sky is falling apart… Ghost Demon seen moving northeast — towards the Pacific…"

Static followed.

Then, faintly:

> "…Tokyo… next target… run…"

Tokyo Alert

In Japan, sirens blared across the coast.

Civilians rushed into shelters. Children screamed.

Military drones took off from rooftops, scanning the horizon.

On the command screen of Osaka Bunker, a single message flashed in red:

> "EMERGENCY ALERT: LORD GHOST DEMON HAS APPEARED IN TOKYO."

Everyone froze.

Even Li Wei.

> "No…" he whispered. "He moved faster than predicted."

Outside, the sky above Tokyo turned black.

A massive aura storm erupted, swallowing Mount Fuji's silhouette in darkness.

Rehan drew his sword. "Then it begins."

Ishita's eyes glowed scarlet, aura bursting like wildfire.

> "Let's end this nightmare."

Li Wei gave a sharp nod. "Prepare the portal. We move at dawn."

---

The red aurora pulsed once — and the scene faded into silence.
