Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 – The Bone Reaper’s March

The sky over South America had turned black.

Not from night — but from smoke thick enough to choke the sun itself.

Lightning crawled across crimson clouds, and the land below was no longer Brazil. It was a realm of twisted glass, molten rivers, and skeletal forests that whispered in agony.

And then… they came.

A tremor rolled through the earth as a thousand demonic footsteps echoed from the void. The air shimmered, and three massive figures emerged beside Lord Ghost Demon — his Upper Rank Demons.

---

The Arrival

The first was Kael'Thar – The Bone Reaper, his body a grotesque cathedral of bones.

Each step he took reshaped the earth beneath him; skeletal hands rose from the soil to worship him. His skull-mask was adorned with horns that curved like the crescent of a dying moon. His weapon: a scythe forged from the spine of an archangel.

> Kael'Thar's voice rumbled like thunder:

"The mortals' ashes welcome us, my lord. Let me harvest what remains."

The second emerged from a ripple in space itself — Morgath – The Dimension Shredder.

His form constantly shifted between realities, a blur of shadow and geometry. His arms bent at impossible angles, his presence bending light.

> "The world's layers are thin here," he said, voice echoing in multiple tones. "I can tear it apart faster than they can rebuild it."

And last came Zerath – The Plague Bringer.

A colossal being of rotting flesh and green vapor, his aura stank of disease and death.

> "Their bombs have gifted me nutrients," he hissed. "Even the radiation bends to my will."

Lord Ghost Demon sat upon a throne of fused skulls, his eyes reflecting apocalyptic fire.

> "Then begin," he said calmly.

"Reduce this world to silence."

Scene – São Paulo: The Last Line of Humanity

Brazil's military survivors had gathered in a shattered city center — broken tanks, burning helicopters, soldiers trembling behind barricades of ash.

Commander Silva stood atop a ruined jeep, shouting orders through static:

> "Hold the line! For every demon that steps forward, we make them pay in fire!"

Behind him, civilians huddled in subway tunnels. Children cried as the ground shook again and again — the demons' approach a living earthquake.

And then, out of the fog, Kael'Thar appeared.

Hundreds of soldiers opened fire. Missiles streaked through the sky.

Nothing touched him.

Bullets passed through his aura and melted in midair.

Kael'Thar raised his scythe and swept it once.

A white arc split the horizon.

Buildings, tanks, and men alike were cut in half — disintegrating into bone dust.

> "Harvest complete," Kael'Thar whispered, his hollow eyes glowing brighter.

"Every soul strengthens the chorus of the dead."

Behind him, Zerath spread his wings of pestilence, releasing waves of toxic mist.

The green fog slithered into the ruins, decaying everything it touched — metal, flesh, even spirit. Within minutes, entire districts dissolved into putrid sludge.

> "Magnificent," Zerath hissed, inhaling deeply. "The smell of extinction."

Scene – Space Orbit Satellite Feed

From the International Defense Satellite, global commanders watched the destruction unfold. The live feed was unstable, flickering between static and horror.

> "The demons are tearing through the continent," a technician shouted. "Estimated casualties— eighty percent of Brazil within the first two hours!"

"Where are the Aura Weilders?!" someone yelled.

> "Still regrouping in Japan," another replied. "If we don't act now, South America will vanish."

The U.S. President's face appeared on screen.

> "Then act."

"Prepare Operation Trinity Rain."

---

Scene – Operation Trinity Rain

High above the Atlantic, fifty B-2 bombers flew in formation, each carrying B83 thermonuclear warheads.

The pilots' faces were pale, drenched in sweat, yet their voices steady as they received final orders.

> "Target grid confirmed. Brazil designated as Zone Zero. Detonation code to follow."

One pilot whispered into his comm,

> "God forgive us."

And then, with a trembling hand, he pressed the trigger.

Fifty silver dots fell through the clouds.

Moments later, the world turned white.

---

Scene – The Firestorm

The bombs struck like the wrath of gods.

The explosion devoured the land, turning mountains into vapor, oceans into steam.

A wall of light swept across South America — so bright that it was seen from space.

Shockwaves tore through the planet, creating hurricanes and quakes.

Even the demons vanished within the inferno — or so humanity hoped.

For ten whole minutes, silence followed. The world held its breath.

The bunker command centers across nations erupted in prayer, disbelief, and hope.

> "Did we get them?"

"Radiation levels… unimaginable. Nothing could've survived that."

"Then… we did it?"

The room erupted in weak applause, mixed with sobs of relief.

But in the silence that followed — one voice broke through the static feed.

A whisper. A laugh.

A sound not human.

---

Scene – The Aftermath

Through the nuclear storm, a black vortex opened over the ruins.

Three silhouettes stepped out, burning but alive — regenerated by the explosion itself.

Kael'Thar's scythe gleamed like molten silver.

Zerath's plague aura doubled in intensity, glowing an eerie emerald.

Morgath's body flickered between realities, now infused with atomic energy.

And behind them… the throne of bones reformed from the ashes, piece by piece, until Lord Ghost Demon stood once more — untouched.

> "So this is humanity's greatest light," he said softly, brushing away ash from his shoulder.

"Yet even their sun cannot burn my shadow."

Kael'Thar knelt before him.

> "What are your orders, my Lord?"

Ghost Demon raised his hand toward the north — toward the Atlantic Ocean.

> "Let the ashes drift. The world must see what becomes of defiance."

A red beam shot skyward, splitting clouds and atmosphere.

The radiation from the blast was absorbed into the beam — purified into demonic energy — and released across the globe.

Auroras turned crimson. Oceans boiled in streaks of black.

From every dark corner of the world, lesser demons began to rise — awakened by his power.

---

Scene – Osaka Bunker

Ishita fell to her knees, gasping as her aura spasmed violently.

> "He's… feeding on nuclear energy!"

Li Wei clenched his jaw. "The bombs strengthened him. The fools have doomed us all."

Rehan slammed his fist into the wall, eyes burning.

> "Then we fight fire with will. If demons evolve, so can we."

Li Wei's expression darkened.

> "Maybe… but the price will be beyond what any of us can bear."

Outside, the crimson aurora painted the Japanese night — a grim prophecy written across the sky.
