After that, everyone gave me their wishes; the party had officially started! People were dancing, and everyone was having a good time. I saw my little brother, Zephi, and he, like my mother, is also a lightning elemental. It's nice for him because nobody has to associate him with me. He learns from my mother, and he is quite good with the way of the sword too, you know, as you can already see I am quite proud as an older brother.
Zephi: Happy birthday, brother!! This is my gift!!
It was a bracelet; hanging from it was a charm....I opened the charm and saw a photo of us as a family....
Damian: ....Thank you so much, Zephi.... I'll cherish this forever. (smiling)

We continued to have fun; these guys set up a piñata and blindfolded me. They made me spin around for like a minute, and I got dizzy as hell. I barely managed to hit the damn piñata. Oh and I also hit Kane on the head with the bat..... not my fault he was in the crossfire. Suddenly someone had knocked on the door. Dad went up to the door to see who it was. As he opened the door, we saw two figures.
Fyrelin: Hello! Are we allowed in?
The person standing on the door was Mr Fyrelin, wearing a big red coat and slick back hair, with a stubble on his chin. He had that same tired look on his face, and the bags under his eyes were as big as ever. He was a really cool guy, just like Dad. He and Dad are really good friends, but his son, on the other hand….
Lucas: Hey…..
Damian: ...…
...ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? I just wanted a good, nice birthday, without getting my ass beat, so why does this guy who JUST beat up every part of my body, is in MY house with fucking puppy eyes!! AND THE WORST THING IS I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING
Thenus: Of course! You are always welcome!
Damian:...yeaaaahhhh
I said that as I gritted my teeth because of my anger.
But you know, Mr Fyrelin looks especially tired today; his eyes have dark circles, and his face looks sunken in. I looked at Dad; it seemed like he saw it too.
BUT I DIDN'T CARE I WAS DANCING MY LIFE OUT
Damian: oh yeaaahhhh
Kane: Damian loves dancing, huh (sitting in the corner)
Haki: KANE, why are you just sitting there? Come dance with us!! (pulling him)
Kane: Hey HEY, you know I don't do dancing!!
Seems like Kane is trying not to dance, and Haki is not having it. The thing is, I really like dancing; it always felt so refreshing to just let it out and sweat it out. Dad also really loved it too; he was the one who taught me some moves. Afterwards, we were even having our own dance battle! Of course I won.
Lucas:(in the corner)
Damian: (Sees him)....ugh, why are you just sitting there? You already annoy me as it is, so don't bring the mood down for the rest of us.
Lucas:.... is it really okay for me to join?
Damian: ....just go in the corner and seem like you are having fun
Lucas:.....
As the party was dying down a little, and everyone was getting tired, all the kids went to go eat. I glanced over to see the adults; they were all gathered in the corner.
Thenus: What is going on, Fyrelin?
Fyrelin: Just please listen to me and come with me, and please set a barrier in the room
I saw them going into Father's workroom. They were there for a while, but as they left the room, I saw my dad's face with anger and concern. The same was true for all the adults coming out of the room, except for Mr. Fyrelin; it looked like he had been roughed up.
Thenus: ok guys. Party's up, everyone is ordered to go into their beds and have milk and sleep!! (he said that with a smile, but it seemed like he was really angry) Damian! Come with me for a second, will you?
Damian: ok ok wait a minute
As I follow him out of the house, I see Lucas and Mr Fyrelin leaving too. I see Mom moving frantically around the house. I don't understand what's going on, but it seems serious. I look back towards our house, and I see... the wall... it has been standing there for hundreds of years, apparently, protecting us from who knows what... from what I heard, it was from giant monsters. Well, the parents didn't really talk about it...but from people around us I have heard that it was made by thousands of elementals using their powers together and making it rise up from the ground.
Thenus: Damian
Still in thought about the wall, I turned around.
Damian: yea dad
Thenus: I am going to ask you something; answer it truthfully.
Damian: Uh... ok?
Thenus: .... What's the one thing you want the most in this whole world?
I was surprised at this question. It was just a generic question, but it felt like the most serious question he could have ever asked.
At that moment I thought, I thought a lot and still couldn't answer it. I mean, I still haven't experienced anything significant in my life to realise what I want.... but then I saw my hands. The burn marks that had healed up, the memories started flooding in, all the pain and suffering I had to endure, my family and friends had to endure, because of what? I didn't have any powers? Just because "I" didn't have powers?! I hated that... I hated that so much.
With all of that anger and sadness, I thought for a moment.... and then I said to him.
Damian: I…. Want to be the strongest in the world... no … the strongest in the whole universe!!
Thenus: ….and why is that?
Damian: ....If I am the strongest, then I can bend the rules and make it so everyone I love and care about can be happy, can live peacefully. I can make it so that people won't look at us with hate and make it so that nobody, and I mean nobody, can push me around and make me feel weak!!
As I finished my rant, I was out of breath, sweat running down my forehead and neck. As I finished my panting, I looked up to Dad, and I saw him… smiling??
Damian: uh dad? Did I say something funny?
Thenus: No, no hahahaa I was just remembering some old memories, trust me Damian, I never intended to laugh at your goals ( kneels and holds me)
listen damian in your life you will get distracted…. By many things, and you will feel lost at some points, but the one thing that will push you forward like a rocket…..is your purpose in life….
Doing the thing that you know you were meant to do, that you want to do, you won't know it now, but one day you will find it and when you do, boy oh boy you will find it fun, you wont ever not focus on it you will do it every day and will find people who will be like you have make a brotherhood and ohhh so many things.....
Damian: uh ….. I don't get it… Why am I being told this…
Thenus: ….. Because I might not be there to help you…. I wish I could have taught you more…. Then again, I have taught you a lot already, haven't I
Damian: Wait...wh-what do you mean?? You can't be there??? You're not making sense, Dad! You are scaring me!
Thenus: Don't worryyy, I am not going anywhere right now.... do you know what it takes to be a man?
Damian: ...no??
Thenus: It means protecting and providing for your loved ones even at the expense of yours, and nothing's going to happen when I am around..... It's another story when I am not there.
Damian: What do you mean–
As I ask him that, I hear a very, very big explosion. I turn around, I feel empty and start to shiver at the sight in front of me; my eyes are wide open trying to understand what's happening. What I see is the wall... being destroyed, just the whole section just flying everywhere. Behind the big explosion, behind all the smoke, I see a big, very big creature- too big; how does that thing even exist? Big. What is even going on now???
