A loud drum sounded from within the enclosed range.
Boom.
"Participants, prepare yourselves!" a voice called out. "The first round of the archery competition will begin shortly!"
The tension broke as attendants began ushering participants toward the shooting lanes.
Yu Gongshi turned to Huo Jian. "You'll be placed in the outer bracket since you're a newcomer."
"If you perform well, you'll advance."
Huo Jian nodded. "Understood."
As Huo Jian moved off with the attendants, Xu Shazi leaned in slightly toward Wu Zhe, lowering his voice.
"Master… are you really sure that this kid can participate in something like this?" he muttered.
"This isn't some back-alley competition. If he slips, he'll make a fool of himself in front of everyone."
Wu Zhe's gaze remained on Huo Jian's figure.
"I don't know," he said calmly. "These things are never certain."
Xu Shazi frowned. "Then why let him participate?"
