Chapter 157 - CH 157 : Androids against Rudra I

The clouds above West City drifted like forgotten ashes, smoke rising from the ruins that once echoed with human laughter. Rubble, broken glass, and the faint metallic scent of charred metal lingered in the air. Rudra stood on the highest point of a half-collapsed skyscraper, his crimson cloak swaying lightly in the breeze. His eyes glowed faintly — not with anger, but focus.

"Cell is gone…" he murmured, scanning the cityscape with his Chakra Sense. "This is the perfect time to end the Android threat once and for all."

He extended his awareness outward — a spiritual net spreading across the west region of the city. Each heartbeat, each trace of life flickered within his mind like a candle. But amidst all the death and silence, there was something else — a faint pulse. Weak, trembling… yet alive.

Rudra's eyes sharpened.

"Someone's alive."

With a flicker of light, he vanished.

---

In the ruins of an elementary school, a small boy crawled from beneath a pile of broken bricks. His face was covered in soot and tears, his hands shaking as he tried to push away the heavy debris. He couldn't have been older than eight.

"Mom… Dad…" he whispered hoarsely. No reply came.

A sudden whoosh of displaced air made him freeze. A tall figure appeared before him — a man with glowing eyes and long black hair that flowed behind him like ink in the wind.

The boy's eyes widened in terror. "A… an Android!"

Before Rudra could even speak, the boy bolted in the opposite direction, tripping over broken slabs of concrete.

"Wait!" Rudra called, taking a step forward, his tone gentle. "I'm not here to hurt you—"

But the child's fear drowned out reason. He ran, stumbling, tears streaking down his face.

And then—

A dark shadow fell from the sky.

Android 17 descended slowly, arms folded, a smirk spreading across his face. His black hair fluttered in the smoke-filled air, blue eyes narrowing on the running child.

"Well, well," he said mockingly. "Still some pests crawling around?"

The boy stopped, frozen in terror.

Without a second's hesitation, 17 raised his hand. A sphere of blue Ki formed instantly.

"Perish."

The blast roared forward like a bullet of destruction—

—but it never reached the boy.

In a flash of golden-red light, Rudra appeared between them, his arm extended, palm facing outward. The Ki blast collided with an invisible barrier and vanished like dust in the wind.

Android 17 blinked.

"What—?!"

The ground cracked beneath Rudra's feet as he lowered his hand, his eyes calm yet sharp.

"You're still the same," he said quietly. "No mercy. No hesitation."

The boy looked up at Rudra in disbelief.

"You… you saved me…"

Rudra turned slightly, his expression softening. "Run, little one. Go as far as you can."

Before the boy could move, another shadow appeared beside 17 — Android 18, her expression cool and unbothered.

"Well," she said, brushing her blonde hair back. "If it isn't our long-lost pest. You've been hiding well."

Rudra didn't reply. His crimson aura began to shimmer faintly around him.

17 chuckled darkly, cracking his neck. "You really think you can protect anyone from us? You couldn't stop Cell — what makes you think you can stop us?"

Rudra didn't flinch.

"I'm not here to talk."

The air trembled as both Androids began charging their Ki. Two spheres of intense blue energy grew larger and larger until the light illuminated the entire ruined district.

"Let's finish him!" 18 shouted.

The two blasts merged into one massive energy ball — larger than any building still standing. The ground beneath them shook violently as the energy condensed into a blinding orb.

Rudra's eyes narrowed. He could feel the immense destructive power — it would obliterate the entire city block.

"I can't block this while the kid's here…"

In a split second, Rudra grabbed the boy by the shoulder.

"Hold on tight."

Zzzhmm!

The world bent.

---

In an instant, they appeared under the twin suns of Planet Namek. The soft green sky and calm winds contrasted violently with the chaos Rudra had just left behind.

Nearby, a group of Namekian villagers were working near a small pond, repairing their huts. Among them stood Dende, the young Guardian of Earth, his expression filled with surprise as he sensed Rudra's sudden appearance.

"Rudra?" Dende gasped. "What happened?"

Rudra gently set the boy down. "There's no time to explain. This child's home was destroyed by the Androids. Please, keep him safe here."

Dende's face softened with concern. "Of course. You have my word."

The boy looked up at Rudra with wide eyes. "Mister… will you come back?"

Rudra gave a faint smile and placed a hand on the boy's head. "I will. And when I do, this world will be safe again."

And with that, he vanished once more.

---

Back on Earth—

Android 17 stood in the same spot, the massive Ki ball still growing, his smirk widening.

"Guess he ran away again."

But before the orb could be released, a voice echoed behind them.

"Don't be so sure."

Whoosh!

Rudra appeared directly behind Android 18 — silent as a shadow. The sudden shift in Ki made her instinctively turn her head, eyes widening.

"Wha—?"

Before she could finish, Rudra's leg swung upward in a blinding motion. His heel connected cleanly with her jaw, and the impact cracked the air itself.

BOOM!

Android 18's body shot backward like a comet, smashing through three destroyed buildings before crashing into the rubble with a deafening crash!

Android 17 turned instantly, furious. "You—!"

Rudra stood, his face calm, aura flaring crimson and gold. His hair fluttered lightly in the force of his own energy.

"This time," he said coldly, "no one else dies."

---

The earth trembled as 17 lunged forward, throwing a barrage of punches faster than lightning. Rudra dodged each one effortlessly, his movements fluid and precise, his eyes reading every strike before it happened.

"Too slow."

He sidestepped, palm glowing, and struck 17 in the chest with a chakra-infused push. The blast sent 17 flying backward, tearing through the concrete like paper.

Rudra lowered his hand, glancing toward the direction where 18 had fallen.

"They're strong… but not invincible."

The wind howled through the broken city, carrying dust and smoke through the open streets. The battle had only just begun — but Rudra's eyes burned with purpose now.

He had protected life. He had defied the Androids. And now… he would bring peace back to this ruined Earth.
