The screen flickered.
Grady Sawyer's image appeared on the screen.
In the interrogation room at Upper Lake District Police Precinct.
Grady Sawyer, the Deputy Chief of the City Bureau and Head of the Criminal Police Corps, was already handcuffed. His white police uniform formed a stark contrast with his current state.
At that moment, he was still quite arrogant.
Opposite him.
Sitting were two staff members from the Commission for Discipline Inspection.
During the previous half-hour interrogation, Grady Sawyer said nothing, even taunting the investigators, mocking their lack of evidence, and claiming he could be out in 24 hours.
Next.
Dirk Carter personally entered the interrogation room.
Even so.
He remained arrogant.
In his view, whatever he had done, the Commission for Discipline Inspection couldn't produce any substantive evidence against him.
Then.
Dirk Carter took out a phone found in Grady's office.
