Knock knock knock.
A series of urgent knocks came.
The mute girl opened the door in panic.
A man with a full beard walked in.
He was about to say something but immediately saw the naked mute girl and Vernon Houseman, who was barely alive on the bed.
"What happened?"
The man asked anxiously.
The mute girl gestured, recounting the situation.
The man's gaze toward Vernon Houseman turned murderous.
"Save...save...save me."
Vernon Houseman thought he saw hope.
He reached out to the man with great effort, speaking in an extremely weak voice.
The man completely ignored him.
Said, "Pack up, we're leaving quickly, and it's perfect that his dad gave him a bag of money; we'll use it to escape."
With that, he picked up a large travel bag.
Vernon Houseman was all too familiar with that bag.
It was his money.
He wanted to explain this to the couple, but his throat couldn't produce a single word.
His head tilted.
And he lost consciousness.
