Woobin bowed deeper.
"Thank you."
"Technically."
Woobin paused mid-rise.
Trainer Song stood, crossing toward him slowly.
"Your control is exceptional. Your pitch is immaculate. Your breath support puts half this room to shame."
Woobin didn't relax.
"But I didn't believe you."
The words hung in the air like a blade suspended over all our heads.
"You sang every note correctly and gave me nothing to care about."
"What do you mean?"
Woobin's voice cracked, just slightly.
Trainer Song folded his arms.
"Of the four people I've heard so far, you have the strongest technical foundation."
Woobin straightened, pride flickering across his face—until Trainer Song spoke again.
"Now tell me what that song was about."
Woobin blinked.
"It's... about someone realizing they loved the person who left."
"I know what the lyrics say."
Trainer Song's tone hardened.
"I asked what you were saying."
Silence.
Woobin's mouth opened, closed.
