Chapter 9

Robb Stark led his men on yet another patrol near the borders of the North and the Riverlands. There were reports of hostilities near the borders from Lannister forces. The rumor was that it was Jaimie Lannister leading the hostile forces. Robb and his father wondered if the Lannisters weren't testing northern defenses preparing for an attack. But given the reported threat of Renly and Stannis Baratheon, Robb would have expected the Lannisters had enough to deal with. It was looking more and more like that may be true. They had yet to encounter any Lannister forces on their patrols. Robb would soon be returning to Winterfell.

Robb spotted a wagon on the road in the distance with a man standing trying to fix a broken axle. A woman stood beside the man. Robb's party of fifty warriors road up with Robb calling a halt. Robb took note of the woman's attractiveness.

"Hello there," Robb called. "Might we be of some assistance?"

Garren who was working on the axle looked to his lady to answer. He was simply the hired help hired by her family to help her and look after her.

"We have a broken axle," Talisa answered. "Garren is seeing to the repair." Garren looked at the axle uncertainly.
"My lady, I fear I do not have the proper tools to fix this," Garren said quietly. Robb took note of the way Garren addressed her.

"Perhaps if you could take us to the nearest village where we might find some help? Garren can stay with the supplies," Talisa suggested.

"It wouldn't be safe for one man to stay with a wagon of supplies," Robb pointed out. "My men can transport your supplies for you. We'll take you to the nearest town. Might I know your name?" Robb asked as he reached down to offer her a hand up.

"Talisa," Talisa said as she accepted the hand and was pulled up onto the saddle behind Robb.

"A pleasure to meet you Talisa," Robb said as his men went about emptying Talisa's wagon.

Garren climbed onto another horse. In short order the party rode out at a slower pace burdened down with supplies. During the ride Robb got to know Talisa a little better. He found she was from Volantis.

Harry's Chambers, The Wall

Ros woke with a scream and sat bolt upright. Harry sat up beside the naked woman.

"Are you alright?" Harry asked the heavily breathing Ros.

Her heavy breathing did wonderful things to the woman's naked chest. But he forced his mind off of that.

"Nightmare," Ros said as she tried to catch her breath.

Leaf came padding into the room and sat on the bed.

"It wasn't a nightmare," Leaf said. "It was the greensight energy he is leaking allowing you to see what your life would have been like had you turned down his offer to come live with him," She explained while nodding towards Harry.

"Greensight energy?" Ros asked with confusion.

"Yes. Now that he has begun learning greensight he will leak excess energy when he uses it. He was using it to see things in his dreams," Leaf explained.

"What did you see?" Harry asked.

"Tyrion Lannister hired me to take Joffrey's virginity," Ros explained. "Another girl Daisy was with me. Joffrey wasn't interested in sex, only pain. He had me beat Daisy with a metal studded belt and then a cane with antlers carved into the top. He threatened to kill me if I didn't."

"There's something broken in that boy," Harry said. "Are you alright."

"Yes. It just felt so real. I'm more glad than ever I accepted your offer," Ros said with a shudder.

"If you want I could sleep elsewhere while I use the greensight?" Harry offered.

"No. Just hold me," Ros requested. Harry wrapped his arm around Ros. Leaf stood to leave. "No, stay. You could hold me from the other side," Ros suggested.

Leaf turned and looked at the pair. Ros looked so vulnerable. Harry looked unbothered by her joining them.

"I'll just be holding you regardless of whatever the two of you get up to," Leaf said as she climbed under the covers on the other side of Ros.

Ros did inevitably express her appreciation for how much Harry had changed her life for the better. Leaf did just watch. But it was quite a bit different watching while in the room from watching while in the bed. It was an experience she wouldn't mind repeating.

One of Harry's snitch-probes revealed an interesting tidbit to him. Petyr Baelish approached Renly about the possibility of Petyr opening the gates of Kings Landing should a siege occur. Given Renly's far superior numbers Baelish was rightfully concerned about the possibility of Renly taking Kings Landing. Renly saw right through the ploy. That did not mean he would necessarily turn down the offer.

Harry left Baelish to it for now. Baelish was doing a very good job at reducing the crown's debts. This was helped by the fact that the Lannisters, the crown's primary debtors, were now in charge. Say what you will about the Lannisters, but they didn't spend quite as badly as Robert Baratheon had.

Essos

Daeny was in good spirits thanks to the supplies provided by Rosetta. They were growing closer to their destination. She also felt a sense that someone was watching out for her. It was obvious that the children of the forest were keeping track of her.

"Have you given any more thought to what Rosetta said when we last saw her?" Jorah asked as he walked beside her.

"Which part?" Daeny asked.

"The part where she suggested multiple women and then said your dreams will guide you. I'm wondering what she meant by your dreams will guide you," Jorah said.

Daeny's mind flashed back to her very carnal dreams of Jon. He was gorgeous, strong, and a very skilled lover in her dreams. If he was half that good in real life any woman he bedded would be very lucky indeed.

"In my dreams Jon knows me as only a man can know a woman," Daeny said while glancing at Jorah.

"I see," Jorah said. After several moments of walking he asked, "What do you think about that?"

"I always knew I would have to marry for allies. Finding out I was not the rightful heir to the throne did not change that fact. I figured at that point that I would be asked to marry an ally for an alliance with my house which Jon is head of. That type of situation means I could get someone very unpleasant. The Jon in my dreams is not like that at all. If he is like that in real life then I find I welcome such a relationship. I know he is my nephew. But we Targaryens play by different rules," Daeny said.

Jorah thought about that for a while. His affection for Daenerys was intense. It was hard not to fall in love with the beautiful young woman. But to let that devotion grow stronger would only mean a more intense heartache if she was married to another. But he found himself unable to resist her pull. Beautiful women had always been his weakness.

"Time will tell I suppose. But the children have yet to guide us in the wrong direction," Jorah said.

"I agree," Daeny said. "You're from the north. Surely the northerners talk more about the children than the southerners. Could you tell me more of what you know of them?" Daeny requested.

"Certainly," Jorah agreed.

Vault Beneath Winterfell

Harry examined the room beneath the place he grew up with awe in his eyes. He had warded the hidden rooms beneath the castle he had excavated as securely as Salazar's knowledge could make them. That was if someone were even able to find the location outside of the Fidelius. His Winterfell vault was concealed naturally and remote. Arrayed in the expanded room he was currently in where all manner of gold and jewels looted from Valyria. The expanded room had mountains of treasure farther than his eye could see. He hadn't even finished covering half the cities on the continent of Valyria. And already he had more treasure than he could ever hope to easily spend. It was getting to the point where he had questioned if he should simply stop. Another room was filled with the lost magical knowledge he had recovered. He had recovered entire libraries. Yet another room was filled with Valyrian steel artifacts and magical artifacts. Harry had decided he wouldn't stop. He would slow down how much time he devoted to the looting. But he wouldn't stop. It may take him years to finish looting the continent. But he had time.

Stannis and Renly finally met each other to talk. The talk did not go well. Stannis gave Renly one night to pledge his forces to Stannis. The next day they would fight.

In Essos, Outside of Qarth

"Wait," Rosetta said as she appeared in front of Daeny's group.

"Rosetta," Daeny said with surprise. "What are you doing here?"

"I want to make sure you appear before the thirteen of Qarth looking as one who befits your station," Rosetta said.

Rosetta waved her hand and the white stallion who Daeny had seen die appeared before her.

"Silver," Daeny said happily as she rushed forward. "But how. I saw her die."

"Not all is as it appears. Remember that lesson well Daenerys," Rosetta said. In reality silver hadn't been quite dead when Rosetta had arrived the last time. Harry had nursed the creature back to health. Rosetta waved her hands over Daenerys and magic cleaned the young woman up. Her outfit was transfigured into a regal looking outfit. "The Thirteen of Qarth are successful merchants who prize wealth and appearance most of all. Your natural beauty will help you with them. I also want you appearing through a position of power. You may see me doing small feats of magic here and there to help your image as someone not to be trifled with."

"Thank you," Daeny said.

Rosetta looked up at Daeny with a kind look. Rosetta was actually Leaf at this point. Harry was standing nearby invisibly. But Leaf was wearing the illusion of Rosetta in this case.

"Think nothing of it," Rosetta said. The two were standing a short distance away from Daeny's people. Rosetta said in a quieter voice. "Your nephew has made an alliance with my people. It is for him that we help you. The visions you see in your dreams of him are accurate. You will enjoy him as only a woman can enjoy a man."

"Does he know about me?" Daeny asked.

"He does," Rosetta admitted. "He wanted to have you brought back to Westeros right away and protected. But we children can see glimpses of possible futures. You will grow strong on this journey Daenerys and become a true warrior queen to rule by his side. If he brings you back now then you will not grow so strong. Hardship breeds strength to a point. But only to a point. That is why I am helping out when I can."

"When can I meet him?" Daeny asked.
Rosetta looked off in the distance thoughtfully.

"It will be a while yet. But you will experience him in your dreams. It won't be all sex. Come to know him through those opportunities. You won't regret it," Rosetta advised. "I'm going to clean up your people and then leave. When you ride up have at least one of your dragons perched on your shoulder."

Rosetta cleaned up the people following Daeny making them look more presentable. Then she was gone. A thoughtful Daeny was left behind. She led the way onto the city. The stone walls surrounding Qarth were high and impressive. Several columns of soldiers bearing shields and spears marched out in front of the city gates. Thirteen men and women dressed in expensive clothes followed. One portly man stepped forward from the thirteen.

"Magnificent," Nichal Balan declared as he beheld the sight of the beautiful Daenerys with a dragon on her shoulder. "I see the rumors of dragons returning are true."

"They are," Daenerys said. "I am Daenerys Targaryen. Who might you be?"

"I am one of the thirteen charged with ruling this city of Qarth, the greatest city there ever was or will be," Nichal said. "My actual name is too hard to pronounce for a foreigner."

Suddenly Daeny knew who this man was thanks to Harry sending it to her mind.

"Nichal Balan isn't so difficult to say," Daeny said surprising Nichal and the Thirteen behind her.

"You've heard of me," Nichal said with surprise.
"My friend Rosetta told me of you," Daeny said.
"Who is this Rosetta?" Nichal asked curiously.
"Rosetta is one of the children of the forest," Daeny said with a pleasant smile.
Nichal glanced back at the other thirteen uncertain how to react. Then he looked back at Daeny. "Surely you can't be serious. The children of the forest are but a myth," Nichal said.

"Surely you can stretch your ability to believe since you see a dragon before you," Daeny said. "Rosetta is my friend and is very helpful. Though, you don't want to get on her bad side. She can be quite frightful to those who get on her bad side."

Daeny hoped that Rosetta was listening and would do something to back up Daeny's words. Nichal gasped and stepped back. One of the women among the Thirteen actually screamed. Daeny looked behind her to see what was scaring the Thirteen only to find the biggest wall she had ever even imagined made of ice. It stretched from horizon to horizon. Jorah turned and did a double-take.

"The Wall," Jorah cried having been to the wall himself.

"You see. Rosetta allows us to glimpse the fabled Wall itself," Daeny said.

The Wall slowly faded from sight.

"Perhaps the children do exist," Nichal admitted. He looked back at the other Thirteen. A black man stepped forward from among the Thirteen. "Yes, Xaro."

"I would like to offer my hospitality to Queen Daenerys and her people," Xaro said.

"Very well," Nichal said. He turned back to Daeny and said, "Xaro Xhoan Daxos offers his hospitality."

The gates of Qarth opened behind the Thirteen. Daeny on her horse was led inside the city. The implied threat that the children were capable of harming the Thirteen if they harmed Daeny need not be explicitly stated. That night when Daeny slept she dreamt of more than sex. She dreamt of Jon holding her in his strong arms afterwards. She dreamt of cuddling with him and drawing comfort from his presence. No words needed to be exchanged in spending time with him. His presence just seemed to drain the stresses of the day away from her.

That night Davos Seaworth at the request of King Stannis smuggled Melisandre close to Renly's camp. Melisandre gave birth to a shadow creature that bore Stannis' face.

Renly Baratheon's Tent

Renly was looking in the mirror at himself when the wind picked up with an unnatural intensity. What seemed to be some moving shadow entity flowed into the main tent entrance heading straight for him. Then there was a man there. The man just suddenly appeared. The man's right hand lashed out and what looked like lightning flowed from the man's fingertips. Beams of lightning struck the ground surrounding the shadows. The shadows hit some invisible barrier which flared with white light. The shadow creature screamed and took on a nearly human form with the face of Stannis. Renly had spun by this point and took in the man with him in the tent.

"Who are you?" Renly asked.

"My name is Jon Targaryen," Harry said calmly. "I'm here to make you an offer."

Renly was stunned by the presence of a Targaryen in his tent just as much as the apparent magic in front of his eyes. The small dragon which crawled up onto Jon's shoulder from his back was even more startling. Everflame let out a small flame in challenge towards the shadow creature.

"What...what offer?" Renly asked.

"Stannis and his red woman made this creature here to kill you. I happened to be keeping an eye on things so know about it. My niece Daenerys and I both have dragons. Stannis has his red priestess Melisandre. And to make it more complex the White Walkers are stirring in the distance north. Eventually they will come for the seven kingdoms and all mankind. What do you have King Renly? You have men yes. But they are mortal men. They will not survive fully grown dragons. This is my offer. You will pretend to be a king for the time being. But you will be a king only in name. You will take your orders from me signing a magically binding contract to do so. The contract will also prevent you from telling your secrets. You get to keep being lord of the storm lands when the ruse is over. You can also openly frolic with Loras Tyrell if you like. I care not about that. Margaery will be mine to make one of my queens," Harry explained. "Make your decision quickly. This creature is not easy to contain. Should I stop fighting the creature it will quickly complete its mission to kill you."

Renly's mind raced. It was obvious he was ill equipped to deal with magic. But the thought of being this man's puppet didn't sit well with Renly no matter how handsome the man was. And he was handsome. Jon looked a fierce warrior in a set of armor that if Renly wasn't mistaken was made of Valyrian steel. The creature brushed against the cage of lightning which Jon was still projecting from his right hand. Jon looked like the effort was taxing him.

"Alright. I accept," Renly said.

Harry nodded before gesturing with his left hand and causing a piece of parchment to fly into Renly's hand.

"Read that and sign it while I prepare to slay this creature," Harry said.

Renly quickly began to read the terms of the contract but couldn't help to glance at Jon. Jon drew a Valyrian steel sword with a pommel shaped like a white wolf. He chanted a quick spell. Then the small dragon breathed fire onto the blade. The small gout of flame quickly spread until the entire blade was ablaze with a magical fire. But the blade was not burnt or consumed. Jon then turned his gaze to Renly who realized he was expected to sign. Renly quickly used the provided quill and felt a brief prickle on the back of his hand. The ink used was his own blood! The cut quickly healed itself. The parchment flew back to Jon's outstretched left hand and disappeared. Jon then brought the sword up and stabbed the flaming blade down into the shadow creature. The shadow creature let out the most awful screeching cry as it died. But the magical fire burned away the creature within moments. A spell extinguished the blade which was quickly sheathed. Renly sat down in a chair overwhelmed at recent events.

"Why didn't my guards hear all of that?" Renly asked.
"Because I have erected a dome of silence around your tent while we talk," Harry said. The ease with which Jon could have killed him sunk in for Renly.

"Why not just kill me and be done with it?" Renly asked.

"Killing you won't serve the best use of the troops you have assembled. If I kill you your troops flock to Stannis or return home. I want as many troops to survive to help defends against the Others as possible. To that end I do not want you to directly attach Kings Landing. Tyrion Lannister defends the city and he is cunning. What I want you to do is blockade the city from a distance cutting off food and supplies. You may engage the Lannister army who you far outnumber. But I would prefer you preserve as much life as possible. As far as the reach, the storm lands, and the north are concerned Joffrey is not their king," Harry explained.

"What am I to tell Loras and Margaery?" Renly asked.

"You can tell them some of this. You can tell them that the rightful king came and saved you from a shadow creature sent by your brother. I will even provide you this," Harry said as he laid a small stone bowl on the desk. "You will tap it here," He said while indicating a rune. "And it will replay the events we just lived through in detail. Conversations that I don't want told will be edited out. I will not force Margaery to become one of my queens. But she has the option. I will be not operating in the open for a while. So if Loras and Margaery choose to watch this memory they will be bound by the same inability to speak of this outside of those who already know as you are," Harry explained.

"I don't understand. You've mentioned queens and the north. Do you intend to take multiple queens?" Renly asked. "And why would the north support a Targaryen?"

"Your brother's rebellion was undertaken under a false pretense. Rhaegar did not kidnap Lyanna. She went with him willingly and became his second wife. I was the result," Harry said. Renly was stunned. "And yes. I intend to take quite a few wives. House Targaryen will have many children to make sure it does not ever come this close to extinction again."

"Which child will be your heir?" Renly asked.

"Whichever I choose based off of which one I think the best match," Harry replied. There was a pause in the conversation. "Do you have any more questions at this time?"

"How do I reach you and what is to stop another shadow creature from attacking me?" Renly asked.

"One of the children of the forest shall be watching you invisibly. Her name is Rosetta. When you need to speak to me call out her name and she will come. I will be having words with your brother and his red priestess about this attempt," Harry said. "I must leave."

Harry vanished and suddenly sound was audible from outside once more. It was some time before Loras found a contemplative Renly.

A Short While Later

Margaery was stunned after finishing viewing the memory of the scene which had played out a short while before. Her new husband was never going to be a king. But it wasn't like the marriage had been consummated. It could easily be set aside. He was here. The man from her dreams she now knew was real and named Jon. She could have him. But she would have to share. She would not be the queen. She would only be a queen. What she had to ask herself was having him in any form worth sharing him and sharing the power of queen. She had some thinking to do. She ignored her brother's heated conversation with Renly about their new situation. She didn't blame Loras. He thought he would have influence over a king. Now it was her that potentially had influence over a king while Loras had nothing.

Stannis' Tent

Melisandre had just returned to the camp after giving birth to the shadow creature. She wasn't exactly at her strongest at the moment. When she entered Stannis' tent it was to find another man there, one who radiated magical power. Stannis appeared locked in place. Then the unknown man flicked his gaze to her and she shuddered at the intensity in his eyes. His features were covered in a mask that concealed all but his eyes.

"Melisandre, so nice of you to join us," Harry said.

Everflame crawled up on Jon's shoulder and Melisandre took a step back. Jon drew his Valyrian steel blade. She felt magic stir in the air. The dragon breathed flame onto the blade and it lit up with magical fire. The power of that flame was intense.

"Azor Ahai, Lightbringer!" Melisandre called out. She felt to her knees in shock.

"I don't know what any of that means," Harry said. "I used my blade to slay your shadow creature. I am the true Targaryen king. If you try to send any more of your shadow creatures after your brother it will be this sword which kills you in your sleep. The Others stir in the far north. Soon they will wake and come for us all. We cannot afford to lose men to sibling rivalry. You have been warned," Harry said.

Harry was then gone.
"No!" Melisandre cried when she felt him disappear.

His magic had been powerful and called out to her. Stannis seemed to sag to the ground released from the power of Azor Ahai.

That night Margaery experienced an alternate present in her dreams where she and Loras were forced to flee back to Highgarden after Renly's death.

At the same time Arya experienced dreams of befriending a faceless man named Jaqen H'ghar.

Fist of the First Men, North of the Wall

The party of Nights Watchmen had reached the fist of the first men. While Harry was using his golem more and more to interact with his duties as part of the Night's Watch, he was apparating all over engaging in other events.

Essos, Qarth

Daenerys and her servant Doreah were leaning over the ledge of their apartments watching the small form of Drogo. Harry was standing behind Daeny admiring the view of her delicious rump.

"Dracarys," Daeny said. Drogo gestured with his head towards the small chunk of meat before him. "Dracarys," She tried again. Drogo let out a small flame and cooked his meat. Irri clapped approvingly. Then he ate the meat. Daeny laughed happily and said, "He'll be able to feed himself from now on."

Daeny stood and walked away from the ledge. Drogo climbed onto Doreah's outstretched hand. "Drogo loves you," Daeny noted.
"I rewove part of the top for you," Irri said in Dothraki as she showed Daeny a shoe.
"Thank you my friend," Daeny replied.

"This dress Xaro had made for you is beautiful," Doreah said. "It is said he is the wealthiest man in Qarth."

"It is known," Irri added in heavily accented common tongue.

"That doesn't make me feel any better. We do not know much about our host," Daeny mused. "I may have to educate my host that my hand perhaps belongs to another already. But I would like to wear this beautiful dress."

Harry wouldn't mind her wearing the dress either. She would look stunning in it. A short while later she was at a garden party dressed in the dress. She was gorgeous. It was here that she met one of the warlocks of Qarth and saw a demonstration of magic. It was simply an illusion. But it impressed the guest. The Thirteen had been rather tight-lipped about Daeny's own allies in magic. And Daeny did not volunteer any information about it when meeting the warlock Pyat Pree. Later, Xaro asked Daeny to walk with him.

"So, tell me. How long has your manservant been in love with you?" Xaro asked.

"Many have come to love me," Daeny said. "Or at least many have fallen in love with me. It is the curse of beauty. I do not think I am being vein for I have heard it my entire life."

"This is true," Xaro agreed. "What is it you want Daenerys in life?"

"To join my allies in Westeros and take back the Iron Throne," Daeny answered.

"Why?" Xaro asked.

"Because I have family there and it is where I belong. Why all the questions?" Daeny asked.

"I was told you didn't have any family left," Xaro said. "I find myself interested."

"What is commonly known and what actually is are often two different things," Daeny said. "What is it you want?" Daeny asked.

"Marry me. I have enough money to buy horses, armies, and ships enough to carry you back to Westeros and take back your throne," Xaro proposed.

"I do not know you," Daeny pointed out.

"I have married once for love but she was taken from me. I am ambitious. I come from nothing. The time is perfect to strike with Robert Baratheon's death," Xaro said. "The seven kingdoms are at war with each other fighting over who should be king."

"It will be very hard to contest three fully grown dragons if I have the patience to wait. I shall think on your proposal," Daeny said.

"Then I shall leave you to it," Xaro said with a bow. "If you wish to ask anything of me the servants know where to find me."

Xaro left. She wasn't really thinking about marrying Xaro even if she found him mildly charming. But outright refusing would be rather insulting.

Harry volunteered to go on a ranging away from the Fist of the First Men with Qhorin Halfhand and several other brothers of the Night's Watch. He wanted to see a bit more of the north on his own.

Winterfell
"Enter," Ned said after a nock came at the door to his solar.

"My lord," Ser Rodrik Cassel said as he entered. "We've just received word that the Iron Born have attacked and taken Torrhen's Square."

Ned's expression darkened.

"I wondered how long Balon Greyjoy would stay out of all this war business. He was just looking for the opportunity. It also shows how little he cares for Theon," Ned said.

"Aye," Rodrik agreed. "What would you have us do."

"Assemble 200 fighting men. Hopefully we won't need more than that. I want to make sure Winterfelll is still adequately protected. Robb isn't yet back from his patrol. Bran and Rickon will still be here as will Sansa and Arya," Ned said.

Arya had recently arrived back at Winterfelll with her friends Gendry and Hot Pie in tow. Catelyn hadn't been happy about Arya going off on some adventure. She had been even less pleased at Arya's choice of friends.

"Aye my Lord. I will see it done," Rodrik said before leaving.

North of the Wall

Harry and the other members of his party had come upon a group of wildlings on one of the stony hillsides that frequented the mountainous terrain they were traveling through. The group of crows snuck up on the wildlings preparing to attack. There were only four wildlings. An arrow fired from one of the crows hitting a wildling in the chest was the start of the engagement. When Qhorin Halfhand attacked, Harry engaged one of the thinner figures in heavy furs. Harry could instantly tell his opponent was a woman as he bore her to the ground and wrestled her swiftly into submission. He pulled down her hood to reveal red hair and features that were attractive. She would have been more attractive if her features weren't twisted with defiance.

"She may be a girl. But she's also a wildling," Qhorin said. "What's your name?" Harry asked.

"Ygritte," Ygritte answered.

"You'd best just finish her off," Qhorin advised.

"I gave you my name," Ygritte said.

"Jon Snow," Harry answered as he got up off of her enough to pull her to her feet.

Ygritte was surprised at the casual strength of the man who had pinned her. He lifted her to her feet and then pushed her against a nearby boulder.

"You ought to burn them you killed," Ygritte advised as she stared at her dead compatriots.

"We're not dumb enough to build a big fire to signal any other wildlings that might be in the area," Qhorin said.

"We can cut off their heads and arms. A headless and armless wight isn't exactly a danger assuming the Others could even raise them in that state," Harry said surprising Ygritte with his knowledge. "It's a lot quicker than a fire."

"Our boy Jon here has already slain a wight," Qhorin advised. "How many free folk are beyond the pass?"

"Hundreds and thousands," Ygritte said. "She isn't lying," Harry said.

"What is drawing your people to the frost fangs? What does Mance Rayder want here?" Qhorin asked. All he got was silence. "Does your king mean to march on the wall?"

"I think he does," Harry said. "I can tell from her reaction." Ygritte looked at Harry intently.

"Well we can't spare a man to watch her. If we let her go Mance Rayder will be brought down upon us with his whole army. Do you want me to do it?" Qhorin asked.

"I'll do it," Harry assured.

"Alright. We'll leave you to it and meet you at the top. Don't take too long," Qhorin advised before sheathing his blade.

Qhorin and the other brothers moved off. Ygritte waited until the others had moved off and looked intently at Harry.

"Have you ever killed a woman before? It isn't the same as killing a man. What threat could we be to you?" Ygritte said. "Mance will take you into his army."

"I haven't decided yet if I'm going to kill you," Harry said. "Come on, walk."

Ygritte began to walk before Jon. She had expected to be dead by this point. She was confused on what this crow was doing.

"Where are we going?" Ygritte asked.
"Maybe I want to speak to your Mance Rayder myself," Harry said.

Meanwhile Over in Qarth

Daenerys had gone to the member of the thirteen called Nichal Balan. She had asked for ships to sail to Westeros. He had turned her down calling it a bad investment. When Xaro asked why she didn't just accept his offer of marriage and she would have all that she needed she had explained she was still considering it. But she also said that it wasn't wise to have only one path to success.

When they returned to Xaro's estate they found the guards slain and missing dragons. Irri and Doreah were also both missing. This was one of those pivotal moments the Children had advised Harry helped Daenerys' character and strength grow. He didn't stop her dragons from being taken. But he had made sure her handmaidens both lived.

North of the Wall

"We'll stop here. It's growing too dark to go any further today," Harry said.

Ygritte's hands had been bound together.

"But there is no shelter here," Ygritte pointed out. "The cold could kill us both. If we light a fire..."

"No fire," Harry said. "We'll be warm enough."
"We'll stay warmer if we stay close," Ygritte suggested.

She had laid down and rolled onto her left side. Harry laid down behind her. He pressed up against her.

"Happy now?" Harry asked.

Ygritte was surprised at how warm her captor felt behind her. Pressing up against him actually pushed away the chill. She snuggled back against him.

"Happy, no. Content yes. I'd be happy with a bit of food and maybe something more," Ygritte said as she wiggled her butt back against him.

"Here," Harry said as he produced a package of bread and dried meats from the pocket of his coat. "And if you don't stop wiggling like that I'm afraid you won't like the result."

Ygritte gratefully took the food and began eating.

In between bites Ygritte said, "Or maybe I will like the result. I bet you'd like the result if you pulled down my furs and slipped it inside."

Ygritte wouldn't normally come on so strongly to a man. But she figured she stood a better chance of surviving if he fucked her. He would find it harder to kill her with his seed planted inside of her. Besides, he was very pretty.

"Ygritte, I have no doubt I would like the result if I slipped inside of you. But you see I have this thing where I don't like to fuck people only because they want to keep breathing. You think if I fuck you I would be less likely to kill you. You're probably even right. That doesn't mean I want to fuck a girl under those circumstances," Harry said.

Ygritte was surprised. She had never been turned down to fuck before. Not that she had done it all that often what with the risk of getting pregnant. Ygritte turned over enough to look back at him.

"You aren't like most men," Ygritte said.
"No I am not," Harry agreed. "Now get some sleep."

Ygritte turned back on her side. She only wiggled her butt enough to get comfortable. She couldn't stop thinking about the talk about sex. She asked herself if she would honestly mind having sex with the handsome crow. Truthfully, she didn't think she would. She fell asleep in his arms and had the best rest of her life. She felt safe in his arms. She also felt warm. Harry's warming charm and the magic in his dragon's blood helped in that regard.

The Next Morning

Ygritte woke to the feeling of Jon's hardness pressed firmly into her butt. She was surprised about how well-rested she felt despite sleeping on the cold hard ground. The ground didn't feel so good pressed back against him.

"Did you pull a knife on me during the night?" Ygritte teased when she sensed he was awake. "What can I say. An attractive woman has that affect on me," Harry said.

"Just remember. You can sheathe that knife in my sheathe any time," Ygritte teased before wiggling her butt.

"Alright. I think it's time for us to rise," Harry said. "Oh you already have," Ygritte said suggestively.

Harry got to his feet and pulled Ygritte to hers. He untied her somewhat so that she could walk more easily. Her wrists were still bound.

A short while later Ygritte asked, "Are there any girl crows?" "There are not," Harry answered. "Only men."
"So do the lads do it with each other?" Ygritte asked.

"No. Not generally," Harry said. "Most abstain from sex. They go without," He added when he realized she didn't know what abstain meant. "But quite a few sneak away to brothels near the wall to sleep with women who exchange sex for money."

"Is that what you do?" Ygritte asked curiously.

"I have an alternate means at my disposal to get sex," Harry said.

"What would that be?" Ygritte asked.

"I have a companion Ros who stays with me and provides sex in exchange for me providing food, clothing, a place to stay, and spending money when she wants it," Harry said.

"And the other crows don't object to that or want to use her?" Ygritte asked. "They don't know about her," Harry said. "I'm very good at hiding things." Ygritte snorted.
"So is this Ros your wife or something?" Ygritte asked.

"No. Companion is a good word for it. Someday I'll get married," Harry said. "But when I do I won't be like other men. I'll have multiple wives."

Ygritte turned and looked at him asking, "Think you're man enough for several women do you?"

Harry smirked and sent an invisible lust spell at her mixed with a low-level pleasure spell. Ygritte shuddered and looked away from him. Suddenly he was up behind her whispering into her ear.

"I think you know the answer to that Ygritte," Harry said.

The way he said her name did all kinds of interesting things to Ygritte.

"I didn't know kneeler laws allowed for that sort of thing," Ygritte said.

"I've got that figured out," Harry assured without telling her that he would be the one making the laws.

Ygritte walked in silence for a few minutes thinking about what her captor had said. She was very attracted to Jon Snow. But she asked herself if she would be willing to share him. She didn't yet know. Something certainly did draw her to him. He was so mysterious.

Essos

"I've demanded a meeting of the thirteen. If one of them did this when we will soon find out," Xaro said as he followed an upset Daenerys.

"You are one of the Thirteen," Daeny pointed out.

"If I wanted your dragons I would have taken them," Xaro replied. "They mean nothing to me on their own."

"They are more valuable than anything in the world," Daeny said.
"With my wealth I can buy anything I want without your dragons," Xaro said.

It was rare to see a rich man who didn't want more wealth. Odds were good that Xaro wasn't one of those men.

"Fine. I accept that you weren't involved," Daeny said while inwardly telling herself she didn't trust Xaro. "But I need to get them back."

"You are under my protection. If I don't help you get them back then my word means nothing in front of the other rulers of the city. Trust that I am sufficiently motivated," Xaro said.

"Alright," Daeny said. "Thank you for your assistance," She said before walking up to her chambers with a Dothraki soldier guarding the door.

Daeny went into her chambers and tried to force herself to calm down. Not knowing exactly where her dragons were left an ache in her heart.

"Is this what it feels like when a child has been taken from you?" Daeny asked herself.

Daeny then felt it, the familiar presence she felt in her dreams when Jon was holding her. Calm began to flow into her. After half a minute of this calm feeling another filled her, the sense of her dragons. She could suddenly sense that they were unharmed. She couldn't quite sense a direction. But it was on the edge of her perception. She closed her eyes and focused on that feeling trying to gather a direction her dragons were in.

North of the Wall

"I have to take a piss," Ygritte said after several minutes of silence. "Undo me hands so I can do it," She said as she held up her hands.

"Nice try," Harry said as he drew closer. "I'll help you."

Harry reached out and took hold of her fur lined breaches. He got them down after loosening the tie in the front. He then helped her squat down and held her steady while she relieved herself.

"Fuck that's cold," Ygritte said. "I bet," Harry said.

Soon enough her breaches were back up and he re-tied them. Ygritte made to move on. But Harry stopped her.

"What is it?" Ygritte asked.

"I need to go too," Harry said.

Harry proceeded to undo his own leggings and expose himself. He took a piss not with the least care that Ygritte was watching him with interest. Ygritte inwardly found herself impressed with Jon's size. He was long and thick.

"Nice bone," Ygritte complimented.

"Thanks. I didn't exactly get a look at your quim. But I'm sure it was good looking too," Harry said.

"That could be remedied," Ygritte said with a small grin and a shake of her rump. It was another half hour of walking when they reached a point where Harry could sense they were being watched. He used his magic to hide Longclaw in his satchel which was in an expanded pocket of

his furs. Harry paused. He approached Ygritte and began untying her bindings. "What are you doing?" She asked with confusion.

"You might as well call out to the free folk watching us and have them come down. There's no sense in you remaining bound," Harry said.

"You can tell they're there?" Ygritte asked. "How?"

"I'm full of surprises," Harry said. "Just one thing to think about whatever happens next," He said before he drew her into a kiss.

At the same time Harry's hand reached out and cupped her sex. He channeled a strong pleasure spell into her cunny. Ygritte had to clutch at him to remain standing from the intensity of the climax which tore through her. Ygritte stared at him in wide-eyed shock after she was able to stand again.

"You can come out now," Harry called out.

Free folk men armed with spears and other crude weapons popped up all over the place. What followed was Harry being bound.

In the meantime down in Winterfelll, Sansa experienced her first moons blood. Her nightmares showed her a near-rape experience in Kings Landing followed by trying to hide the moons blood. The moons blood in king's landing would have meant Joffrey raping her in an attempt to get her pregnant. In Winterfelll it was a far less traumatic affair. She had her mother there to talk to.

Essos, Xaro's Mansion

"I did not leave the comfort of my home to come to yours and be called a thief," Nichal Balan declared as he sat among the members of the Thirteen facing Xaro and Daenerys.

"No one is calling you a thief," Xaro said.

"Who is this girl to accuse us?" Nichal replied.

"You know...I can smell it on you which of you took them," Daeny said conversationally. "It isn't just resistance to fire my people gain. We also get some of the other enhanced senses of a dragon."

The members of the Thirteen shifted uncomfortable. "You lie," Nichal replied.

"I do not. For wasn't it you who took my dragons Pyat Pree?" Daeny asked.
"It was," Pree replied, unashamed to admit it. "In a deal with the new King of Qarth." "Qarth has no king," Nichal objected.
"It didn't," Pree said. "But things change."

Suddenly the guards ringing the thirteen lowered their spears and stepped forward to impale the members of the ruling council, everyone except Xaro and Pyat. Then the guards removed their facing coverings to reveal duplicates of Pyat Pree. Daeny fled the room with a Dothraki guard and Jorah.

"You should be with your children," Pree said as he followed Daeny with one of his duplicates. "Your dragons wait for you in the House of the Undying."

Jorah stabbed this version of Pyat Pree with his sword. Pree vanished with his robes collapsing to the ground. Daeny, Jorah, and her guard left.

Others on Planetos were having dreams inspired by the Three Eyed Raven. Jaimie Lannister had nightmares of his captivity at the hands of the Stark and a journey south after his escape with Brienne of Tarth. Theon Greyjoy had nightmares of returning to his father only to be set aside for his sister Yara. Theon had nightmares of taking over Winterfelll biting off more than he could chew. Yara also had nightmares of the events in question. Only she was actually leading the attack on Torrhen's Square. When news of Ned Stark marching south with his men reached her she abandoned Torrhen's Square. She had only taken Torrhen's Square on her father's orders. She realized now those orders were foolish.
