Chapter 330 - Captain America Wanted by S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Took Down Black Widow!

"I received information that the Liberators are planning a massive criminal operation."

"It may even be beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ability to handle."

"So even though I don't have concrete evidence, I think you still need to know."

Ultimate Tony spoke in a serious tone to Nick Fury.

This was exactly why he had come to S.H.I.E.L.D.: to warn Fury about the Liberators, investigate them, and prepare countermeasures in advance.

However, Ultimate Tony did not mention that Loki was the mastermind behind the Liberators.

The reason was simple: aside from Tony himself, nobody in S.H.I.E.L.D. believed Thor was truly the God of Thunder.

Although Thor had long explained that Hulk's exposed identity and the stories about Thor being mentally ill were all Loki's doing, nobody believed him.

So saying it again would be pointless.

Nick Fury's expression instantly became grave.

Given Stark's status and influence, Fury took his words very seriously even without evidence.

He understood that Stark would never speak carelessly or make random claims.

If Stark had personally come to warn him, then he must have been highly confident in the information.

"Stark, what exactly do you know?"

"How did you learn that the Liberators are planning criminal activity?"

After a moment of thought, Fury asked the key question.

"I can't reveal my source."

Ultimate Tony shook his head. The diary was far too mysterious, and he had no intention of exposing it.

Besides, even if he did explain it, Fury probably wouldn't believe him anyway.

"That said, according to my information, the Liberators also have a superhuman team made up of enhanced individuals."

"On top of that, they possess large numbers of personnel and resources, including Hank's Ultron robots."

Ultimate Tony continued explaining.

Fury's face grew increasingly serious.

Because Tony refused to reveal his source, Fury couldn't fully trust him.

But if what Tony said was true, then the situation was indeed extremely dangerous.

How could Fury possibly ignore it?

"I'll investigate this matter."

As Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury naturally understood priorities.

"There's one more thing."

Ultimate Tony spoke again.

"You know about the Tunguska explosion, right?"

"Why do you ask?"

Fury was confused.

As the head of intelligence, of course he knew about an incident famous even among ordinary people.

"The Tunguska explosion wasn't caused by a meteor or comet."

"It happened because of an alien."

"His spaceship malfunctioned and crashed in Tunguska, causing that enormous explosion."

"And if nobody has found him yet, then he's probably still there."

Tony revealed another critical piece of information.

He carefully observed Fury's reaction and quickly realized Fury genuinely knew nothing about it.

That meant Vision was still hidden in Tunguska.

And it also meant the Galactus incident had not yet occurred.

For Ultimate Tony, that was definitely not good news.

"An alien? Stark, where are you getting this information from?"

"Can it really be trusted?"

Fury stared at Tony suspiciously.

"Just like before, I can't reveal the source."

"But I guarantee the information is reliable."

"What you do with it is up to you."

Tony spread his hands casually.

"I'll send a covert team to Tunguska and investigate."

After thinking briefly, Fury made his decision.

"Good."

Tony nodded in satisfaction.

Both critical matters had received the attention they deserved.

Whether things would ultimately succeed or fail was impossible for Tony to predict, but this was the most he could do.

"I thought you'd been busy preparing for your wedding with Natasha," Fury suddenly said meaningfully.

"But it seems you haven't exactly been idle lately."

Fury had no idea how Tony had acquired all this classified intelligence.

But one thing was certain: information like this did not simply fall from the sky.

Still, Fury doubted Tony had formed some secret intelligence network himself.

So Fury guessed Tony had stumbled upon these secrets while dealing with something else.

But since Tony refused to explain, Fury had no way of knowing.

"Of course not. I'm Tony Stark. I always have countless things to deal with every day."

Tony casually brushed it off and stood up.

"Oh right, arrange it so I can visit Thor."

"Thor's condition has gotten even worse."

At the mention of Thor, Fury sighed helplessly.

During Thor's imprisonment, his mental state had deteriorated further and further.

In Fury's eyes, Thor was already beyond saving.

"Maybe if you tried looking at things from Thor's perspective, you'd understand him differently."

Tony said seriously.

"So you actually believe Thor's ridiculous claims?"

"You really think he's the God of Thunder from mythology?"

Fury shook his head repeatedly.

"Tony, I know you and Thor are close, but I never expected it would cloud your judgment."

"No point arguing."

Tony didn't bother explaining further.

"One day, you'll understand."

"But you're not going to stop me from visiting him, right?"

Of course not.

Fury immediately agreed.

After Tony left the conference room, Fury quickly made several phone calls and issued new orders.

Soon afterward, Ultimate Tony arrived to visit Thor.

"Stark?"

Thor was clearly emotional upon seeing Tony and felt genuinely grateful.

Tony had already explained what happened.

It turned out that Gunnar Golmen, the person responsible for the Norwegian super-team, had personally visited the Ultimates and exposed Thor's "background."

He claimed Thor suffered from severe delusions and that all his high-tech equipment had been stolen from their base.

He even presented evidence.

Honestly, the scheme itself was crude and low-level.

Thor never expected everyone to believe it so easily — including Nick Fury.

Everyone except Stark.

That was why Thor truly appreciated Tony.

As for Gunnar Golmen?

Thor was now certain that person had been Loki in disguise.

"How are you feeling? Holding up okay?"

Tony greeted him before immediately adding awkwardly:

"Actually, no. You look terrible."

"Stark!"

Thor ignored the joke and immediately warned him.

"Be careful of Loki. He's planning something. Something huge!"

"That's exactly why I came."

Tony nodded seriously.

"Do you know anything more about Loki's plan? Has he visited you recently?"

"He did come once."

Thor admitted it.

But unfortunately, only Thor could see Loki and the Asgardians.

Everyone else saw Thor talking to empty air, which only reinforced the belief that he was insane.

"He told me there's a traitor among us."

Thor warned Tony.

"But I don't know who it is. Stark, you must be careful!"

A traitor?

Tony immediately understood Thor meant Natasha.

Between the diary's spoilers and Thor's warning, the truth was practically confirmed.

The only problem was that Tony still lacked concrete evidence.

Natasha had covered her tracks perfectly.

So Tony could only wait for her to expose herself.

"Did Loki tell you anything else?"

Tony continued asking.

Thor shook his head.

"No. But I know he's planning something. I know it!"

"How can you be so sure?"

"Volstagg told me."

"Oh, did I introduce him before? One of the Warriors Three. One of my closest brothers."

"He warned me Loki had escaped."

"And that he would take revenge on me."

"He intends to destroy everything I have."

Thor explained.

"Did Volstagg say how Loki plans to do it?"

"Loki is cunning. Nobody knows what he's thinking."

Thor shook his head.

"And even if he said something, I wouldn't trust him."

After the conversation, Tony realized he wouldn't get much useful information from Thor.

Fortunately, he still had the mysterious diary.

That alone reassured him.

"Thor, I'll visit again another day."

"Stay strong. I know someday Odin will acknowledge you, and you'll become the true God of Thunder."

"I'm looking forward to that day."

Tony spoke sincerely.

Thor was deeply moved.

Even in this situation, Stark still trusted him completely.

To Thor, that was true friendship.

What Thor didn't realize was that Tony wasn't comforting him — he was simply stating facts already revealed by the diary.

After leaving the Triskelion, Tony's life returned to normal.

He had already done everything he could.

Now all he could do was wait for Fury's investigation results.

Until then, Tony simply resumed living his usual playboy lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Fury immediately began deploying resources.

He ordered surveillance on Hank and launched an investigation into the Liberators.

At the same time, he sent a covert team to Tunguska to verify Tony's claims about the alien.

Everything proceeded steadily.

But before those investigations produced any results, two major incidents occurred first.

The first was that Captain America once again became a wanted fugitive of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This time it wasn't because of Clint Barton's family.

Instead, Captain America had allegedly been caught selling classified S.H.I.E.L.D. intelligence.

Fury immediately sent the Ultimates to arrest him.

Tony was speechless.

Without question, this was Loki's doing again.

Tony absolutely trusted Captain America.

Unfortunately, Fury didn't.

No matter how Tony argued, Fury insisted on imprisoning Steve.

Tony could only complain internally.

The diary had been right: Fury in this universe really was completely manipulated by Loki.

As for the second incident…

"Don't move."

While Natasha was embracing Tony intimately, she suddenly pulled out a pistol and pressed it against his forehead.

If this had happened before, Tony would have been shocked and helpless.

But now?

"So you finally couldn't hold back anymore, Natasha?"

Tony sneered mockingly.

Natasha froze in confusion.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Before she could react, a strange force suddenly erupted inside her body.

Her entire body instantly went weak, and she collapsed onto the floor helplessly.
