A few days later, the warm afternoon sun bathed the backyard of the big house in golden light.
The cubs were all playing outside. Yue Yue, the little snake cub, was happily basking in the sunlight alongside her twin wolf sisters, Lulu and Ruru.
Yue Yue slithered closer and snuggled up against Lulu's soft face. Looking up at her elder sister, Yue Yue hissed softly in her sweet cub voice, "Sister, you are so beautiful."
Lulu looked down at her tiny younger sister. She gently stroked Yue Yue's smooth scales with her hand. "Yue Yue is also very beautiful."
Yue Yue pouted her little mouth, tilting her slender head to the side. "When will I become human?"
Even though the cubs were from different species…wolves, tigers, and snakes, they could surprisingly understand each other's words with complete ease.
Perhaps it was because they were siblings, or simply because they had been together since the day they were born, but they never had any trouble communicating.
