Inside the cave, the rogue beast thrashed violently, its massive paw swinging out blindly.
The heavy impact clipped Xiao Yi, sending the fluffy little tiger cub flying backward through the air. He soared straight out of the cave entrance, landing with a soft thud in the deep snow.
Dizzily, Xiao Yi shook his furry head and opened his eyes.
But instead of seeing the white landscape, his vision was entirely blocked by a pair of massive, terrifyingly familiar paws.
Slowly, the little cub looked up... and up.
His tiny heart nearly stopped.
The fear of the rogue beast was instantly replaced by an even greater, more primitive dread.
Standing right above him was Hu Yan. His large father's eyes were completely enraged, blazing with a terrifying light as he glared down at his eldest son.
Xiao Yi swallowed hard, his ears pinning flat against his skull.
Trembling, he slowly raised one tiny, apologetic paw in the air, offering a weak, submissive wave.
