Chapter 194: Integration of Personalities

Lady Une hadn't expected Tolle to describe her that way and couldn't help bursting into laughter; even Zechs, who was still seated in the cockpit, couldn't hold back a laugh.

After a moment, forcing down her amusement, Lady Une turned to Tolle and asked, "Just now, did you think I was going to kill Nichol?"

"Yeah, a little," he admitted. "But even if you didn't kill him, I wouldn't have let him off easy. I might've killed him myself."

"All right, calm down—no need to comfort me. I still have my gentle side, after all. Besides, killing him outright would be too easy. I'll make sure he rots in prison until he dies of old age.

"But both of my personalities have already agreed: we'll become one. Together, we'll work for the peace and stability of this world, and we won't trouble Lord Treize or you anymore."

Tolle looked at Lady Une—her glasses still on, hair unbound—and realized Noin hadn't lied; she really had helped Une reconcile with herself. Smiling with relief, he said, "That's good. I'm glad."

Zechs, still in the cockpit, watched the resolute Lady Une and murmured to himself, "Lord Treize… I'm the one who lacks strength. In this chaotic war, all I can do is walk the path of a soldier."

After finishing her work at the Barge Fortress, Lady Une bid Zechs farewell, and he departed to continue his diplomatic efforts among the space colonies.

Military Une watched Tallgeese speeding away on the monitor and said to Tolle, "Ambassador Zechs must have realized now just how determined the colonies are to build up their own military power. He's resolute, isn't he?"

Tolle nodded. "Yeah. Zechs—no, Milliardo now—given his current position, he doesn't have much choice.

"The Sanc Kingdom has only just been restored. Milliardo has to build a future for his sister Relena too."

"He's someone who still resists the tide of the times. One day he'll return to the battlefield, and then we'll see where he stands.

"The flow of history can't be stopped by anyone—not even Lord Treize. But all I have to do is push history in the direction of his ideals."

At that moment, Military Une removed her glasses. Her hair was still loose, but through her gaze, Tolle could already see the gentle, compassionate eyes of her other self.

She twirled the glasses in her hand and, with the expression and tone of the calm Lady Une, spoke the fierce words of the military one:

"For that goal, I won't hesitate even to sacrifice my life. I'll keep fighting—and I'll win. I'll win the future Lord Treize envisions, and I'll win my own future too."

Tolle felt that Une's two personalities had finally merged into one. This Lady Une was captivating—he couldn't help wanting to draw her into his arms.

But her heart belonged to Lord Treize. That had nothing to do with him. He was just a bystander.

Meanwhile, the Romefeller Foundation decided to build MD production plants at the lunar base to mass-produce unmanned Mobile Dolls for attacking Earth.

They planned to deploy these MD units directly from orbit onto the planet to carry out devastating assaults.

At the same time, Chang Wufei, piloting his Shenlong Gundam with its fuel and ammunition completely depleted, arrived near the lunar base and surrendered himself to Chief Engineer Tubarov.

Tubarov was delighted at capturing the Shenlong Gundam, but he didn't realize that Wufei had let himself be caught on purpose—to use the lunar facilities to upgrade his Gundam.

Meanwhile, the five doctors at the lunar base, using their positions developing mobile suits for OZ, were secretly modifying the Gundam Deathscythe. When Shenlong arrived, they added it to their upgrade program as well.

On Earth, the Wing Gundam that Heero had discarded in the ocean was discovered by both the resistance and OZ forces.

To protect the Wing Gundam, Sally Po piloted the underwater MS Cancer, destroyed all of OZ's underwater units, and recovered the intact Gundam.

Zechs continued traveling between the colonies, tirelessly urging them to resist OZ's plan to turn the colonies into weapons factories supplying arms to space.

But his diplomatic efforts were met with little success. The leaders of the colonies, fearful of war, chose to submit to OZ's control, gaining military power equal to the Earth Unified Nation in exchange.

Duo Maxwell, having lost the Deathscythe, tried living as an ordinary civilian—but before long, he couldn't stand it. He decided to infiltrate the lunar base and destroy OZ's MD production facility.

During this time, Duo met his future girlfriend, OZ volunteer soldier Hilde Schbeiker.

While disguised as a soldier en route to the lunar base, Duo was discovered by Hilde and had to hijack a space-type Leo to escape.

During the ensuing chase, Duo saved Hilde from being attacked by her own allies. The incident left her shaken—if they were all fighting for the colonies, why were they killing each other?

With Hilde's help, Duo eventually infiltrated the lunar base, where he discovered the Deathscythe Gundam and Shenlong Gundam being upgraded together under the five doctors' supervision.

He also learned that the doctors were secretly enhancing the Gundams to defeat OZ. Although they beat him for barging in, Duo was thrilled—because soon, the Deathscythe would return to fight beside him.

Like Wufei and Heero before him, Duo was imprisoned and "forced" to serve as a test pilot for OZ's new mobile suits.

After completing the Wing Gundam Zero, Quatre Raberba Winner piloted it to launch attacks on OZ's occupied military plants and resource satellites.

Against the Wing Zero's overwhelming offensive and defensive power, the factories' guards and Taurus Mobile Dolls were helpless.

Quatre ignored their attacks completely, firing the Twin Buster Rifle and destroying entire satellites with a single shot.

After obliterating one resource satellite, Quatre immediately headed for another.

At the lunar base, Lady Une learned of this and immediately dispatched Mercurius and Vayeate from the Barge Fortress to intercept Wing Zero.

Seeing Une continue to use the Gundam pilots as test subjects, Tubarov grew increasingly dissatisfied.

After Heero and Trowa launched in Mercurius and Vayeate, Tubarov unilaterally cut off the oxygen supply in the detention block.

Inside the suffocating cell, Duo and Wufei stared at the blueprints of their newly upgraded Gundams until both lost consciousness and collapsed.
