The world around us was freezing. We were trudging through this blizzard… The fireballs I created were threatening to be snuffed out.
We couldn't see what was ten meters ahead of us. It was just blanketed white, the snow was super heavy.
My mana was already being heavily drained, so I couldn't use another fireball ahead of us. I was praying that these ones don't go out, the reality of us freezing to death was sort of starting to creep into my head.
Our feet were going across a wet surface due to the heat of the fireballs. The snow was immediately melting when it came to the radius around us.
My lungs were burning— we couldn't make a stop, the igloo I tried to make would immediately get destroyed. Everything in my body was aching, I don't know how close we are to making it. But if we don't soon, we seriously will die.
A day? Week? Will we even survive? Or will we just get killed? What will we be doing? Can we even survive being attacked?
Honestly, I was freaking out internally. Everything was going wrong… but that's how it usually goes in this life.
I couldn't communicate with Shen; I couldn't speak to everyone else. I led our journey, and… well, due to my advanced hearing I had to cover my ear holes with earth. They weighed my ears down, however it was better than having this storm roaring into my ears.
I was deaf as we kept going— from time to time, Allisa grabbed my arms. And to make things easier, I had my blind eye closed.
The world around us roared, and we had to keep fighting. As hard as we could, we had to fight this blizzard.
We had no other options.
Is that- Is that-?
In front of us, there was a blue crystal-like being. It floated a foot off the ground. Without thinking I prepared myself for a fight, but someone grabbed my shoulders.
Allisa mouthed "it's an ice spirit!" To me. I let out a small "oh." I lowered my hands, and walked towards it.
As far as I can remember, at least right now, these ice spirits act as guides to the lost… This might be our chance-
We have to keep going. No matter how tired we get, we have to keep going. I had to repeat this to myself even when my lungs, fingers and cheeks were burning.
My throat was being shredded by the cold. Even my magic, I used less on myself which didn't protect me. My magic covered everyone else much more, they needed it. Push yourself… Yukina…
Push yourself….? Allisa?
She put her hands on my back, and I felt something enter my body. You need…
Her mana reinvigorated my dwindling mana pool; my body ate at it, craving it so we could keep pursuing. The ice spirit was glowing harder as the winds became harsher.
Keep following. I heard a voice enter my head.
Keep…
Following…
Don't… give up…
Yu-
Everything became blurry, And before I could even realize, the ice spirit was gone. The blizzard's edge was protecting frosted peaks.
We're here..? Did we…? My body, I couldn't feel anything. My feet felt like lead blocks. The world was turning dark around me, I didn't have the strength to turn around.
And I can't feel any energy in my body. Before I knew it, my head grew heavy, and I felt everything sap in my body.
I don't even know what happened, I couldn't move a muscle. But I wasn't on the ground, I felt I was suspended. Something soft was keeping me from falling.
Then that something was rubbing my head. I couldn't… fight it; even so…
"You- You made it…"
Who's…?
