Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Envy- it was such an ugly feeling Weiss came to realize.

Just now, Sasuke moved so fast that it rivaled, if not surpassed, her speed when using the Time Dilation of her Semblance, and that was ridiculous. Even so, all that she could think about was the scene playing before her, and that Ruby Rose must be feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.

That smile and the flush of red on her face said it all, and Weiss envied Ruby for that and the princess carry from earlier.

It was kind of ironic, really.

After all, just like Pyrrha, Weiss also had titles attached to her name. While the "Schnee Princess" was the best-known, "The Girl Who Has Everything" stood out the most to her, and it wasn't even true, especially with how bad her family situation was back home.

That, and right now, there was something that Weiss wanted and that she did not have, and it was being in Ruby's place to receive Sasuke's care.

Given the look on Yang's face, she wasn't the only one thinking like that. Still, this girl was doing her best to be a supportive sister and even take pictures of the whole thing.

Love really is complicated. Weiss let out a sigh, trying to bury these new feelings. But I suppose it could be worse.

At least she wasn't competing against her own sister, so she didn't need to worry as much as these two.

At the same time, this setting also put Weiss at a disadvantage. There are two of them, after all. And as much as she didn't want to admit it, they are both really beautiful.

Ruby's beauty was more on the innocent and cute side, in a way that makes you want to protect her. Given the way Sasuke was reacting after seeing her crying for a second time, it showed the extent of her feminine power.

As for Yang, just like it was in Weiss's least assessment of her, she still believes this girl to be one of the most beautiful in the world, and not even this overcoat could hide her feminine attributes. And on top of that, she had the provocative confidence to back it up.

Formidable opponents, indeed.

Even so, Weiss smiled with confidence as she stroked her silky white hair. I'm not losing!

They didn't call her a princess just because of her noble family, but because of the way she looked! So, all that Weiss had to do was walk with confidence and...she fell.

"Kyaa!" Weiss let out a startled scream as her high heels got stuck in a tree root of all things, but that scream was not as loud as the one in her mind! Nooo!

Regret and despair were all that was left as she made a fool of herself and fell from grace, but not to the ground, as she got caught before then by a strong pair of arms. Looking up, Weiss found herself face-to-face with Sasuke, and her heart almost jumped out of her throat!

This was too sudden and too close!

"You okay?" Sasuke asked this panicking girl, feeling like this had already happened the day before with Ruby, even if it was for a different reason. "Those shoes of yours are not suitable for this kind of environment."

For the life of him, he would never understand why women insist on using these things, and that seems to be the case even in a different world.

On the other side, Weiss was cursing both her luck and envy, as she just got what she wanted, but in the worst way possible!

Talk about Karma!

"I-I...never went to a forest before," Weiss managed to say while her face and body heated up by the second, as she had never felt this embarrassed before. "Th-thank you, but I'm okay, so... Ahh!"

She couldn't take a single step without letting a pained gasp escape her lips and fall even more into the arms of Sasuke and wrap her own around him.

Somehow, Weiss had managed to hurt her feet!

How...can this be? She was trembling now, her embarrassment giving way to fear as she expected to be mocked for being unfit as a Huntress. This...this can't get any worse.

Fortunately for her, it didn't, as only a horrible person would sink so low, and no one around her was like that. However, the tables had been turned, and now, she was the one being envied.

Ruby and Yang were both taken aback, not knowing what to do or say about this absurd turn of events!

As for Sasuke, he was taking a moment while his mind kept getting caught in the unexpected embrace of this girl.

Small, soft, and delicate were the first words that he could think of to describe Weiss. Then, there was the pleasant smell of fresh water coming from her silky white hair, similar to that of a cold spring.

All in all, she was truly beautiful, like a princess from a fairy tale, and such a realization only served to make him extremely conscious of her earlier request, one made for his sake.

"Hold on," Sasuke said to this scared and confused girl before taking her in his arms. "I'll carry you back to Beacon."

If she wanted to help him, it was only natural that he would help her, too.

"Y-you shouldn't do that!" Weiss was blushing so hard with this that her face could rival the color on Ruby's cloak! "We are not even dating yet!"

Besides, her feet would heal in no time!

"Yet, you say?" Sasuke had an amused smile as he ignored everything else and just started walking. "Just like Ruby, you are quite confident, huh?"

Perhaps that was a trait that every woman in this world had, since Yang and those twins who worked for Junior were like that, too.

Honestly, Sasuke could respect such an attitude, which reminded him of the way he usually was.

Weiss had to take a deep breath to calm both her embarrassment and anger at how smug this boy was being with her!

That and the strange fact that she doesn't really hate any of this, as there's hardly anyone in this world who would dare to provoke and be this casual with her.

The normal teenage girl experience, it seems, and this was exactly what she wanted when she left that prison of a home behind.

"Hmph!" Weiss just put both her arms around Sasuke's neck to make herself comfortable in his strong embrace and enjoy this legendary princess-carrying event. "Not as confident as you, it seems."

And that was telling something.

However, given the way he looked and the need to hide from the world, Sasuke must be used to the advances of other women, and that could be a problem.

"So, let me make something clear," Weiss said, making Sasuke stop by resting a hand on his perfect face. "This beauty of yours is not the reason why I'm interested in you, but this is." She slid her hand down and stopped where his heart was, beating steadily and without wavering. "As long as the light in here keeps shining, and you prove yourself worth, like you did today, I'll accept you. Otherwise, I'll just forget you exist, turn away, and not look back ever again."

This was her way of saying that, while she was open to being more than just friends and willing to help keep the other girls away from him and the annoying boys away from her, her goodwill only went so far.

After all, the last thing Weiss wanted was to end up like her mom: stuck in an unhappy, toxic relationship with a heartless monster.

Fortunately, Sasuke was on the right track. So far, his every action seemed altruistic, but she would still need a long time to make sure he was the one.

Good thing they would have four years together in Beacon, or at least one if he doesn't skip the other three and graduate earlier for being a true genius.

Just like Ruby, she truly is different from the other girls. Sasuke hasn't felt this conflicted about something since his conversation with the old Kages. While I could easily prevent a bond from forming between us, where will I ever find someone like her again?

That felt like such a waste, especially when he was considering using the clean slate that this world provided to restore the Uchiha clan away from the cursed Elemental Nations.

Besides, if in the end he decides to leave Remnant and not come back, Sasuke can still find a way to erase their memories and make it as if nothing ever happened.

"Then watch me closely, and judge for yourself if this corrupted light of mine is worth or not," he said with a dead serious tone of voice, and not a trace of lies could be detected in his words. "Because I intended to do the same with you."

Not just her, but with the two stunned girls behind him as well.

"That..." Weiss didn't expect any of this, and not in a bad way, as her heart started to leap again. "I'm okay with that."

Actually, this answer couldn't be better for her, as it confirmed a mutual interest, equal footing in this evaluation, and the chance of something more in the future.

Of course, Weiss didn't like the way Sasuke classified his own light as corrupted, but she would eventually learn more about that, as everyone had darkness in their hearts.

"I already said this before, but you are really good." She smiled as she hugged him closer, a teasing tone in her voice. "So much so that it makes me wonder just how many hearts you have stolen in your life?"

Just here, there were almost three of them!

Almost because Weiss was still clinging to hers and wouldn't let it go until she received one in return.

"Don't even remind me of that." Sasuke had nightmares just thinking about it. "Back in my village, as far as I know, there was only one girl around my age who wasn't interested in me...or should I say, interest in the name of my renowned clan, its noble status, and the eyes of the Uchiha."

Given the fact that she already possessed everything, or at least something similar to what he had, there was no need for her to go after him.

So, in a weird way, he appreciates the Hyuuga girl the most among his old classmates...even if he doesn't quite remember her name.

"Wait, you're from a noble clan?" Weiss didn't know about that, but what really caught her attention was the last thing he just said. "And what do you mean about the 'eyes of the Uchiha'? The way you talked sounds almost like... No way!" Her blue eyes widened in realization, excitement more than evident. "Don't tell me that your Sharingan is hereditary?!"

If so, they had so much in common!

I think I said more than I should. Sasuke was too caught in the moment, and now his honesty could become a problem. "Does that really matter?"

The last thing he wanted was to have someone after him just because of his eyes, again.

"Of course it does!" Weiss said, but then noted his discomfort. Given what she used to believe about his left eye, it wasn't hard to figure out the reason for this reaction. "You really don't know anything about my renowned, noble family or me, do you?" She then extended her hand and manifested a small Glyph to show him. "This is the hereditary Semblance of the Schnee family, one that has been passed down through blood for many generations, to the point of being considered the oldest one in Remnant."

Now, this managed to get a strong reaction from Sasuke, making him stop on his tracks and even turn his Sharingan on to take a good look at her Kekkei Genkai.

Talk about an unexpected find and a coincidence. He had to admit and even wanted to question her about the capabilities of this ancient power, but refrained from doing so out of consideration. It's no wonder she got so excited just now.

Finding someone of the opposite gender who shares this much in common with you wasn't an everyday event.

"See, we are similar," Weiss continued with a smile, her good feet kicked in the air in an unconscious display of happiness. "Later, I'll tell you more about my Glyphs since you told me about your Sharingan."

It was only fair, she supposed, and a subject for them to get to know each other even better!

"I'll look forward to it then." Sasuke had a smile of his own as he resumed his walk towards Beacon. "But for now, let's get this initiation over with."

There was much to be done.

Weiss didn't argue about that; she just rested her face on Sasuke's shoulder and enjoyed what felt like a dream.

For the other two girls watching, however, this was more like a nightmare.

"Yang?" Ruby started, confused and almost hurt by all of this. "What just happened?"

In one moment, she was being comforted by the boy who supposedly liked her as much as she liked him. In the next one, the same boy was walking away while carrying another girl in his arms.

Of course, Ruby wasn't blind and could understand the reason behind every action from Sasuke. He was just a good person doing good things, but her heart refused to accept such logic.

Perhaps this was what people describe as jealousy.

"I think that we just witnessed two masters at work." Yang had never seen such smooth flirting before, and this wasn't good for them. "Ruby, we need to step up our game, or we're gonna lose to Weiss!"

And she refuses to lose to some rich girl!

"We?" Ruby crossed her arms and scoffed at the nerve of her sister. "So now you admit that you like him, too?"

She could just have done that from the beginning!

"Ruby, you need to be gay to not be interested in Sasuke." Yang was blunt about it and for good reason. Although I think I may be bisexual...

Otherwise, she wouldn't keep looking at Blake's legs...not that her little sister needs to know about that.

"Really?" Ruby didn't quite understand the whole gay thing, but even she knew just how handsome Sasuke was. "So Weiss was right, then?"

That the other girls would torment him during his stay in Beacon, and only a girlfriend could help with that?

"Yeah, Sasuke will be loved by most of the school, since the majority of the population of the world is made of women, and hated by the boys out of jealousy." Yang couldn't deny the logic behind that princess's thinking. "Now, if he were dating someone, it would be like saying to everyone else to fuck off, but even that can only do so much."

The whole incident in Vale was proof of how far some bitchs are willing to go for a dick, especially when polyamory was quite normal because of the disparity between the numbers of men and women...

"That's it!" Yang had just the right idea and wasted no time in bringing her little sister closer to whisper in her ear. "Ruby, listen to me, I think the two of us could..."

The more Ruby listened to her sister, the faster she felt her heart beat, as the solution to their problems was so simple!

In fact, you could say that their very existence was the answer!

"That could work!" Ruby then looked to Sasuke in the distance, more specifically to the happy girl in his arms. "But what about Weiss?"

Since there was a way for them to solve this problem, should they include her, too? After all, no one deserves to have their heart broken.

"What about her?" Yang sighed and almost mocked the extent of Ruby's naivety. "Does it look like she cares about us?"

If anything, she was having the time of her life while flirting in the arms of Sasuke. That, and at the end of the day, she was just a stranger.

"But she does care." Ruby knew this much from their little time together. "Otherwise, Weiss wouldn't have suggested us to Sasuke when she asked to become his girlfriend."

And there were her words from earlier, too, when Weiss wished her good luck with Sasuke.

That had to count for something.

"Well, you are not wrong, but even so." Yang was starting to be conflicted, but for a different reason, as something just occurred to her. What if Weiss is the one to win?

Given the way things are going, that could very well be the case. And just like that, the most interesting guy in the world would be out of reach.

"You know what? I think you're right." Yang had to agree with Ruby and play it safe. "Let's talk to her when we get the chance."

To see if they could work something out together.

"Yes!" Ruby jumped out of sheer joy, as fear and the weight of a mountain were lifted off her shoulders. "Oh man, that will be so cool!"

So much so that she could barely wait!
