Ken finally remembered. "What happened?"
"The World Martial Arts Tournament is happening on Earth right now," Bulma said, still excited. "Zarek just fought Trunks, and guess what? He used Hakai!"
"Oh?" Ken was actually a little surprised.
He had never paid much attention to Zarek.
"Ken, doesn't that make him a ready-made God of Destruction?" Bulma said with a grin.
"You're right." Ken nodded, pleased. He tapped the crystal ball on his scepter, then pulled his finger outward.
A projection appeared above the crystal ball, showing the recent match between Zarek and Trunks.
Ken wanted to see the fight for himself.
"But…" Bulma suddenly changed her tone.
"Just say it," Ken said, not too concerned.
"Zarek's personality is a little weird. He's nothing like Goku. To put it simply, he's a brat," Bulma said honestly.
"Really? Then he hasn't been beaten enough." Ken laughed. "I'll take a look when I get back."
"Yeah, Gine said the same thing. Zarek really is the kind of kid who needs a beating," Bulma said. "But Gine is only an Earthling now. She does scold him, and he doesn't fight back, but I doubt it hurts him much."
"That's fine. If he acts cocky in front of me, Vegeta can be his example," Ken said with a smile.
"Ken, seriously?" Emily snapped from the side. "How many years has it been? You're still using Vegeta as the bad example?"
Trunks had already lost the match, so Emily was in a bad mood. Hearing Ken talk about Vegeta like that only pushed her frustration over the edge.
"Emily," Ken said with a sigh, "it's been a long time since anyone talked to me like that."
Emily suddenly realized who she was yelling at, and her face changed.
"I… I didn't mean anything by it," she said quickly.
"Then I'll give you a small punishment today." Ken's voice stayed calm as invisible Angel power wrapped around Emily.
Snap!
In an instant, Emily's outer clothes vanished, leaving her in nothing but her underwear.
"Ah!"
Emily shrieked and scrambled to cover herself.
Oolong, meanwhile, stared straight ahead without blinking.
Bulma's friend has a pretty nice figure.
Still got it, too.
"Ken! You—!" Emily was mortified.
Bulma quickly grabbed a piece of clothing and draped it over her.
Emily hurriedly put it on, furious enough that her chest rose and fell with every breath.
Ken, you're awful.
"Anyway, that's what happened with Zarek," Bulma said calmly.
Emily stared at her.
Bulma, how are you still continuing the conversation like nothing happened?
Did you not see me standing here in my underwear two seconds ago?
"Got it. I'll head back soon," Ken said with a smile.
"So that's it for now?" Bulma asked.
"Yeah." Ken ended the call.
Bang!
Emily immediately punched Oolong on the head.
Oolong froze.
"You're still looking!" Emily snapped.
Oolong rubbed his aching head, feeling deeply wronged.
"Ken gave me a free show. Am I not allowed to look?" Oolong muttered.
"What did you say?" Emily demanded.
"Nothing." Oolong scratched his ears and cheeks, then carefully glanced around.
Vegeta didn't see that, right?
He probably didn't.
If he did, I'd be roast pig by now.
Vegeta really had not seen it. Their seats were at the very top of the stands, and from his angle, he could not see what had happened.
After ending the call, Ken felt a little surprised.
Bardock's son actually learned Hakai?
"Zarek? Bardock's son?" Merus asked.
"Yeah. He's only seven this year, and he already figured out Hakai," Ken said.
"As expected, the son of a God of Destruction has an easier time understanding Hakai," Merus said thoughtfully.
"Now that you mention it, none of the current Gods of Destruction seem to have children," Ken said, touching his chin.
"Once someone becomes a God of Destruction, having children becomes extremely difficult. Bardock really is an exception," Merus said.
"Didn't Mule have a son? We killed him ages ago," Ken said with a smile.
"That was different," Merus said. "Mule's son was born before Mule became a God of Destruction. Bardock had Zarek after becoming one, so they're not the same case."
"Merus, you really are a picky Angel," Ken said with a laugh.
Merus said nothing.
You're the picky one, and now you're saying it's me?
"Are we going back to Earth?" Merus asked.
"Yeah. We've been here for a month already. Haven't you had enough fun?" Ken asked, smiling at him.
Merus suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
Don't look at me like that. You were enjoying yourself too.
More than me, honestly.
"Then let's get ready to leave," Ken said. Then he added, "By the way, Buu has already been sealed."
"Buu? Sealed? Did the two guards seal him?" Merus asked, surprised.
"No. The Supreme Kai of Universe 7 sealed him," Ken said, shaking his head.
"The Supreme Kai of Universe 7? He can seal Majin Buu?" Merus sounded doubtful.
"He sealed Buu while Buu was asleep, using the legendary ice flame," Ken said.
"So it was the legendary ice flame. No wonder," Merus said, understanding at once.
"And now Babidi has reached Earth in Universe 6. He's trying to find a way to wake Majin Buu," Ken said, checking the crystal ball on his scepter.
"Babidi? He went to Earth in Universe 6?" Merus paused, surprised. "He must have gone to Earth in Universe 7 first, then crossed through the passage."
"You didn't know? Zeno-sama woke him up because he wanted to give the Supreme Kai of Universe 7 something to deal with. Also to annoy him," Ken said casually.
"But can he undo Majin Buu's seal? That's the legendary ice flame," Merus said, not convinced Babidi had much chance.
"We'll see. Let's go back first," Ken said.
"All right… Though flying back from here will take several days," Merus said, looking up at the sky.
"Then we'll fly." Ken did not mind.
After that, Ken and Merus reluctantly said goodbye to the beauties of Planet Nilala. They turned into two streaks of light, bright as stars, and shot into space.
Not long after they left Planet Nilala, another brilliant streak of light flashed across the sky and landed on the planet.
Bier's eyes shone with excitement, her face full of joy.
Finally!
I finally found it!
I finally found this planet!
Bier was overjoyed.
This was the first time she had truly found the planet she was looking for on her own.
Excited, she immediately used the crystal ball on her scepter to contact Merus.
Merus, who was already flying through space, froze slightly when he saw Bier calling. A bitter smile appeared on his face.
"Ken… did we forget something?" Merus did not answer right away. He looked at Ken with an awkward smile.
"You mean we should go back and destroy the planet?" Ken asked. "To stop the women there from hurting more people?"
He paused, then shook his head. "I'd advise you not to get involved. Destroying planets is a God of Destruction's job. Angels have no reason to interfere with that."
Merus was speechless.
"I didn't say we should destroy the planet…"
I'm not even willing to destroy that planet.
Why would I destroy that planet?
"Still, you did give one of the girls a tiny bit of Angel power. She'll probably become stronger, right?" Ken asked with a smile.
"Maybe. But even though it was only a tiny bit, fully absorbing it and turning it into strength and lifespan will probably take a very long time," Merus said.
"Do you think she might suddenly have your child?" Ken asked on a whim.
Merus had no words.
After three seconds of silence, he shook his head. "Angels can't have children that way."
As soon as he said it, Merus felt something was off.
You dragged me completely off topic again.
"That's not the point," Merus said quickly. "I mean, we forgot something important."
"What important thing?" Ken asked.
"Bier!" Merus pointed at the crystal ball on his scepter. "She's calling me!"
Ken sensed briefly, then said, "Not bad. Bier has already landed on Planet Nilala. She finally found the place."
"She did? She found it on her own?" Merus was genuinely surprised.
"Looks like it," Ken said with a nod.
"That's not the problem. How am I supposed to answer this? We've already left," Merus said helplessly.
As he spoke, Merus noticed his scepter had stopped vibrating and let out a long breath.
Finally. She stopped calling.
A moment later, Ken felt his own scepter begin to vibrate.
It was obviously Bier.
No need to guess. Since she could not reach Merus, she had called Ken instead.
Ken did not hide. He opened the video call directly.
"Bier, looking for me?" Ken asked.
"Huh? Ken, why do you look like you're flying through space? Is Merus-nii with you?" Bier asked curiously.
"Oh, so you're looking for Merus. Call him, then." Ken ended the call without hesitation.
Bier froze.
She stood there with her scepter, lost in the wind.
After a full five seconds, she furiously called Ken again.
Ken answered.
"Ken, you're awful! Don't hang up on me!" Bier shouted through gritted teeth, looking like she wanted to jump through the scepter and tackle him.
"When did conversations through scepters start being like phone calls?" Ken asked curiously.
"You're the one who started calling them that!" Bier snapped. "We're just going along with you!"
"Not important." Ken shook his head.
"No, wait, what was I going to say? You made me so mad I forgot!" Bier glared at Ken with her bright eyes.
"Then tell me when you remember," Ken said with a smile.
"I remember now!" Bier huffed. "Didn't you say you'd wait for me on Planet Nilala? Where are you?"
"Bier, do you have any idea how shameless that sounds?" Ken sighed helplessly.
"Why would it be shameless?" Bier asked.
"Merus and I waited for you on that planet for a whole month, and you never showed up. We just left," Ken scolded her.
Bier actually felt a little guilty for a moment.
Wait, no!
Bier suddenly realized something.
"You didn't release your Angel power! No, you released it once, then left me on my own! I had such a hard time finding this place!" Bier complained angrily.
"And now you're blaming us? We gave you an entire month and you still couldn't find it!" Ken sighed.
"You—you know I'm bad with directions! But I found it now!" Bier said anxiously.
"Bier, maybe next time I should gather the seven Super Dragon Balls and ask the Divine Dragon to fix your terrible sense of direction," Ken said earnestly.
"Really?" Bier's face lit up with hope.
"No. That's part of your training," Ken rejected her immediately.
Bier went silent.
"All right. Merus and I have been in Universe 12 for long enough. We're heading back now," Ken said calmly. "If you want to come to Earth in Universe 6 sometime, you're always welcome."
"You're going to Earth in Universe 6?" Bier asked, finally catching on.
"The real question is, can you find Earth in Universe 6?" Ken sighed again.
Bier felt that one deep in her heart.
I'm not going.
…
Universe 6, Earth, World Martial Arts Tournament.
"Bulma, is Ken coming back?" Gine asked.
"He said he is," Bulma said with a nod.
"Then… could you call Ken again for me?" Gine asked.
"What do you need me to say?" Bulma asked.
"Ask if he can call Bardock back," Gine said.
"Sure. I'll ask him now." Bulma had no objection. She contacted Ken again and passed along Gine's request.
"Sure," Ken said with a nod.
Then Ken contacted Bardock.
"Ken?" Bardock's voice came through immediately.
"Bardock, how long has it been since you went home?" Ken asked with a smile.
"A few years, I guess… Did something happen on Earth?" Bardock immediately had a bad feeling.
"Nothing serious happened to the planet," Ken said.
"That's good." Bardock let out a small breath of relief.
"But someone thinks you might have died out there," Ken added.
Bardock froze.
"Which bastard is cursing me? Raditz?" Bardock snapped.
I haven't had time to save him all these years.
That bastard must hate me by now. Is he mad I left him alone?
Bardock felt that the only person who would say something like that had to be Raditz.
"Not Raditz," Ken said honestly. "It was Zarek."
