'Okay, huh...'
Blake looked down.
Then immediately looked back up.
'I wasn't flying this high earlier!'
The ground was... really far away.
Much farther than he had expected.
The city beneath him looked almost miniature from this height, the buildings blending together into one enormous grey carpet.
Blake swallowed.
"Okay."
He glanced at his boots, then right ahead.
'I'm definitely not falling, right? Because if something suddenly stops working...'
He imagined the propulsion system shutting down.
The stabilization failing, the helmet malfunctioning, the armor suddenly deciding that it had had enough of him.
Blake's expression slowly became horrified.
'Nope. Don't think about it, this was made by Myles' coworkers. Estelle and Alexis would be pretty offended if they knew I doubted their work!'
He lowered himself slightly.
Then slowed down.
Much slower than he actually wanted.
