Chapter 2 - Ch2 - HELL NO

I opened my eyes.

It was the same ceiling as before.

"Ah! I have to prepare for school." I pushed the blankets off me and got out of bed.

I took out my clothes and got dressed.

Yesterday, after meeting with Ichigo. Hikari's parents called me.

On the phone, they said, 'We're sorry Hikari, we have to settle the company. Tomorrow, I promise we will eat a good dinner together.'

And so on.

I mostly listened to Hikari's mom and dad.

They sounded like good humans.

But I tried to not speak much.

This devil brat's character is too different from mine. I'm scared that they would instantly spot the differences.

So I practiced his habits for the rest of my day and slept.

***

I left the house and glanced at a certain house before leaving.

He probably left early.

If not… we will meet at the class anyway.

And to be honest, it's better to stay away from his family.

I left the street and continued to walk.

"Hope, I'm going in the right direction."

After walking for what felt like forever, I finally saw a glimpse of a park.

"Haah, fnally… i didn't expect to walk this long, haha." I scratched the back of my head.

As I continued to walk through the fully bloomed sakura trees, I finally saw a few students and tailed them.

As we reached to the school, the group I've been tailing till now, stopped. Their eyes wide open, talking with each other.

What h—Ooh…

There were people on the ground, It seemed like a huge fight broke out in the school yard

"That orange haired guy did it."

"Holly, I knew it. I really don't want to be at the same school with him.

It's dangerous"

Yeah, you're not that wrong.

It's dangerous.

I walked through the entrance as the group I've been tailing didn't move and continued to gossip.

Is it tho? I don't remember anyone getting hurt.

Meh not that matters.

as I stepped inside the school, some students looked at me awkwardly,

"Yes?"

"N-nothing" A boy who was looking at me bowed and left.

"Aa…? Okay."

I looked around and found no one else looking at me.

They probably mistook me with someone else.

As I walk through the corridors, I raised my hand to a student.

"Hi, where can I find my class?"

Boy shrugged. "Ask the teachers—ah, or go directly to the Principal."

"Thank you!"

The boy nodded and left to his way.

Now where is the Principal's office?

I wonder if Ichigo is in class or at the Nurse's office.

***

After learning where my class is, I walked to higher floors.

Shhhhk— i slided open the door and stepped inside.

"Morniing!"

As I greeted the other students, I looked at their faces.

"Morning"

"Yes"

"You too"

A few of them replied kindly, a few nodded, and a few ignored…

"Eh?"

There was no one here.

L-literally…

Just a classroom, filled with a bunch of random students.

There wasn't even a single side character here.

I'm not in the same classroom with Ichigo…

I'll spend my remaining years here???

HELL NO.

Seeing me not moving, a student asked me "Is something wrong?"

"Nope, nothing." I turned and left.

Seeing me leave, a few students spoke, warned, laughed.

Unfortunately, I don't feel like listening to the no names.

I needed to talk to the principal again and transfer myself to Ichigo's class.

No matter what, I don't care.

When the class next door is filled with main characters, I can't bore myself in a classroom full of no names,

I used to be too prideful to beg or whine for things—But that was a boring and sad life.

I was wrong. I needed a balance.

This time, I won't let my chance slip away from my hand.

***

I knocked twice

"Come in" voice was slow, almost sleepy.

I slid the door open.

"Me again." I scratched the back of my head.

The principal looked at me questioningly.

"My class—I want to change it."

"Which Class?"

"İchigo Kurosaki's Class."

"...Ahh…"

A long pause

"...That trouble boy…"

A long silence filled the office.

Say something already…

"No—"

"Why?" I cut in before he could finish.

He waved his hand lazily. "Paperwork… Explanations… Senseis complaining…."

Haha, you're right… but no.

I've always been selfless—but not here

I don't have the patience for that in a fictional world.

When all I got from being selfless was… a bit of pride in a boring life.

"I see." I turned around.

"Mm?" he hummed.

I stopped at the door, hand on the handle.

Then—

"I'll attend the class starting today then."

"Oh?" Behind me a chair creaked.

"You said paperwork is troublesome." I continued. "So, let's not do it today."

"I'll sit in the class. If there's a problem, you can move me back later."

The room went quiet.

Then—

"...Mmm…"

I glanced back.

The old man scratched his cheek.

"Do what you want."

I almost smirked.

"Thank you, Principal."

"...Didn't say I approved…"

I smiled brightly to his face and left the office.

I walked through the corridors. It seemed like classes had already started.

I knew, Old man wouldn't have rejected me.

Whined a little…

And got what I would never get in my old life.

Right to be by their side.

"…"

Silence.

"...Haha, anyway." I shook my head and continued.

While walking through the green corridors my face was smiling, but my eyes were… disappointed.

***

I stopped in front of the door.

So this was his class.

…And mine, starting now.

Waiting days? Weeks?

Haha...

I slid the door open. Shhhhk—

"Excuse me."

The Sensei paused mid-sentence.

Every head turned.

"I'm Hinata Hikaru." I scratched the back of my head.

"There's been a mistake with my class assignment."

Murmurs spread instantly.

"Wrong class? I didn't hear anything like that."

"I was placed elsewhere but I'll be attending here from now on. Principal will fix the papper work latter,"

Silence.

"...Fine. Take a seat."

"Thank you."

I walked past the desks.

Eyes followed me, some curious, some confused.

And then—

Orange.

Ichigo was already staring at me with a funny expression.

Seems like he had things to say.

I wanted to choose a desk near him.

But, unfortunately all the desks were full.

So, I sat in the empty seat at the very back.

Murmurs trickled for a moment, but as Sensei resumed, the class quieted down.

Morning homeroom dragged on with the usual speech: high school rules, expectations, responsibilities. Everyone listened quietly.

Ichigo glanced my way once. I waved at him with a small smile.

After that… he didn't look again.

Bleach, huh?

Everyone is here.

İchigo, Karin… umm…

I don't remember their names.

"…"

***

DING DONG DING—

Class ended with the school bell.

I held my forehead. There's four more of this.

It's shorter than I thought but just thinking if I wasn't in this class but in the other—

"Hm?" I raised my head. "Ichigo-san?"

"What're you doing here?" He murmured.

The students' eyes were already on us.

"I didn't like my class. So, I transferred here."

He stared for a second.

"That's it?"

"Yeah"

"You're—"

From the side— "Wait." Keigo leaned in, grinning. "You know Kurosaki too?"

"Yeah."

"You're from his middle school?"

Ichigo answered before I could. "No, he's my neighbor. Just moved in."

"Woah! What a coincidence!" Keigo grabbed my hand and shook it. "I'm Keigo! And this is Mizuiro." He nodded toward the smaller boy standing beside him.

"We're from a different middle school too! Come with us to the rooftop at lunch break."

Ichigo's expression became funny, he was muttering:

"Why are they so loud…"

***

The bell finally rang for the last time.

All the students started leaving the School one by one.

The sky was orange and the curtains swayed slightly in the breeze.

I was waiting for Ichigo and others to prepare for leaving.

I felt a nostalgic feeling. The feeling of finally leaving the school with an exhausted mind.

It's good I insisted on being in this class.

The world felt artificial, but with them… it feels kind of normal

I smiled.

Ichigo saw me smiling, "What're you doing? We're leaving."

"Oh? Yes, yes, I'm coming."
