I tapped the butt of my spear on the ground and bent, swiveled and bowed. Yellow, blue, red, purple, white and green magical energies rose from my form and wove together as the summoning fully commenced. The fervor of my movements increased as this tightly wound magical rope finally touched the Fayth.
"BOOM!"
A pillar of white magical power erupted from the statue as the hundreds of thousands of souls were burnt as fuel for the summoning.
(3RD PERSON POV)
The moment Alex started the burning of all those souls for the summoning the entire magical world froze for a moment. Every beast, witch and wizard felt it. An immediate sharp uptick of magical energy in the world. This sudden and incredible sensation caused mass panic as no one could understand what was happening. The ministries across the globe scrambled to find the source of this phenomena while the truly powerful wizards and witches all breathed a little easier as they felt a weight they didn't realize they were carrying lifted off them. The ambient magical energy climbed for exactly two seconds before the ward scheme carved into the fake philosophers stone activated and began to conceal this phenomenon.-
Alex moved faster and faster and sweat poured from him in dense drops as the strain on his body and magic was intense. It was a struggle and by the end of it his skin had pruned and not an ounce of strength remained in his body as he made the final stroke of his spear nearly a full three hours after he began. The Fayth looked little different from before but was glowing intensely as a dense resonate hum filled the air around it.-
(NORMAL POV)
Pain and weariness wracked my body as I lay collapsed on the floor of this chamber. In spite of this however I couldn't help but feel my connection to what I had summoned. It was like a thread tied around my wrist that I merely had to lightly tug to bring what it was attached to my way. I didn't however as I was quite aware that my current state was absolutely wretched. I took several nutrition potions out of my inventory with a thought and grimaced as my head throbbed angrily as I wandlessly controlled the bottles to uncork and tip into my mouth.-
Immediately my body ravaged the potions like a parched desert finally receiving rain. My pruned skin slowly began to fill back up and the weakness I felt began to ebb away. It took an astonishing five potions and an hour of rest time for me to barely manage to stand. I used my spear as a cane to hold and prop myself up with. I was still exhausted however and slowly returned to the surface of the frozen island while closing up the passage behind me. Thankfully the storm I had originally set up above the island was still going and I weakly held up my right hand.
"KRAKOOM!"
A massive bolt of lightning split the sky and fell upon my outstretched hand. Instantly I inhaled sharply as that energy was absorbed and a chunk of my weakness and exhaustion vanished. I was lightning and so long as I was within a storm I was inexhaustible or at least rapidly recovering my strength. My back stood straighter and the wobbling in my legs ceased as bolt after bolt of lightning fell upon my form. Soon enough however I exhausted the energy in the storm causing it to dissipate. That was fine though as I had recovered by about sixty percent.-
Not even close to my peak but more than enough to return to the Flammel's home.
"You did it didn't you!?" Flammel asked with a wide smile and eager expression the moment I walked the the door.
"How did you know?" I asked stunned.
"How!? Do you not understand the commotion you've caused!? The global ambient magical energy spiked for exactly two seconds! There isn't a single magical in the world who didn't feel it!" he said excitedly.
"Damnit! I thought I contained it fast enough! How many likely understand what this means?" I asked gravely.
"A few handful at most. But that's not important! I want, no, NEED to see it!" he said slightly manic in his tone as his frail body seemed positively vibrating with eager energy.
"Fair warning I haven't fine tuned the place yet so what you see is merely it's raw state." I said with a sigh before stabbing my hand out into the empty air.
Unlike you'd expect however my hand seemed to sink into nothing with my finger vanishing. I then swung my hand downward like I was swinging a blade. A thin glowing line composed of many crystalline fractals constantly change appeared where my hand passed. -
I reached into this line and pulled.
The line expanded and curved as a "door" was carved out of the very air itself and was being pulled open. When this "door" was fully opened a scene unlike anything on earth appeared. It was an island with soft white sandy soil and dimly glowing multicolored trees, grass, weeds and vines. The sound of water flowing to and from a shore could be heard and at the center of the island a red glowing "mountain" stood like a monument telling anyone who saw it how important it was.
"Welcome to the isle of mystery." I said as we walked through the door.
