The back alley leading to the magical heart of the British magical community looked the same as always and I calmly tapped the bricks in the correct order and waited for the passage to open. Stepping onto Diagon alley I ignored the bustling atmosphere and walked through the light snow to Gringotts. I had the gold Whitebeard passed me after a blew a lot of my fortune on helping him prepare for his war and was going to get half of it turned into galleons to pad my vault again.-
The other half I chose to keep on me in case the hop worked out as I'd need liquid funds in these other worlds as well. Ragkog was more than happy to process the gold I brought and transfer the galleons into my account. This brought me back up to a stable eighty five thousand-ish galleons. I took a few hundred out for my christmas shopping but otherwise it was a nice amount to fall back on. Thanks to the amount I even qualified for a better vault account. This one was a normal upgrade where now even if I were wanted by the ministry they couldn't freeze or force their way into my account. Most pureblooded families used this type of account for their vaults.-
Money business taken care of I started to go looking for my christmas gifts. Naturally the first stop was the wizarding chess shop "Knight and Rook" that I purchased two premium sets from for my friends. I then moved on to a few other shops that I purchased gifts from for the professors. Snape got a set of potion ingredients, Mcgonagall a Snitch with Gryffindor's colors. For Flitwick a cushion that fluffed itself and was always clean.-
Sprout got a set of pruning snips with a sharpness enchantment for ease of pruning. Binns a modern history book, Quirrell a soul soothing potion that was intended for lingering dark magic based injuries. I sent Hagrid a new pair of dragon hide boots since I'd noticed his were wearing thin. Hooch got a signed poster of some quidditch star from her favorite team. I sent Dumbledore several sets of thick woolen socks with little phoenixes on them. That covered everyone I knew and felt like sending a gift to. I briefly considered sending stuff to the golden trio but I didn't want to risk them mistaking me as seeing them as friends.-
Once that was taken care of I bought some nutrition potions and set off to find a spot to try my world hop. It wasn't hard really as there were plenty of spots out of view that I could vanish from without anyone the wiser. Spending the fifty coins I waited for the system to connect me to David. The screen quickly did so and I found him in the middle of putting together a Sandevistan from parts on a workbench.-
If you went off the appearance of the tech you think it was rather uncomplicated, you'd also be wrong. Looking at the densely packed micro circuits and wires I understood that the tech was in fact mind bogglingly complex. Whether David noticed me or not I couldn't say but whatever the case he was absolutely focused on his work. It was only after he fully sealed the Sandevistan up did he breath out a deep sigh of relief and visibly untense. -
"Tough job?" I asked and he flinched before relaxing again when he realized what was going on.
"Nah, just takes a lot of focus. Mess up one groove and the whole thing is ruined." he said honestly.
"Got everything lined up for me I hope? Would be kinda awkward if I had everything set up on my end but had to wait." I said and he grinned.
"It's all nova here choom. So I just like ask you to do something in exchange for some time over here right?" He asked to clarify.
"Yeah, that should in theory work. We'll know soon enough I suppose." I said seriously.
{Trade initiated.... verifying validity.... Trade conditions approved. Contact: David Martinez. You give: the destruction of a Scavenger haunt, You receive: Temporary(2 day) pass. Accept trade conditions, Y/N? }
I accepted the trade and a new thing popped up.
{Trade accepted..... Initiating world transfer procedure... please hold still.}
All at once I felt the greyed out world around me begin to press inwards and stretch abstractly before I sort of... blurred out of existence? It was hard to describe really. Like one second I was seeing the world distort and the next I felt myself not be in it anymore. The space between worlds was quite the sight though. Imagine a rainbow and then turn it into a single thread and then multiply those threads infinitely and make them somehow different in the tiniest ways and that was what it looked like.-
Many threads came from certain points and branched off in different ways and others were lonesome without any visible connection to any other thread. Not that I got to explore this between place at all as I was there for maybe a minute before I was yanked into a thread and sort of once again blurred but this time into David's world. Immediately I blanched as my stomach heaved and I found a nearby waste basket and vomited harshly.-
"You good choom? That looked rough." David asked as he patted my back.
Once I recovered I groaned as I picked myself up.
"Multiversal travel sucks." I said with a groan.
"What's it like? On my end I only saw you sort of turn into a bunch of dust before that dust showed up here and turned back into you." he said curiously.
"It's like a bad trip shoved in the span of a few moments. Not a fan at all." I said with a weak chuckle.
