"Er, how do we sell this stuff anyways?" Terry asked after realizing the real problem.
"One of three ways, selling directly, selling to a vendor and bartering." I said calmly.
"Going to need more details than that mate." Mike said and I chuckled.
"Selling directly means advertising these things and selling them to anyone interested. Selling to a vendor is literally as it sounds as you find someone who already has a shop selling similar stuff and try and sell it to them. Finally is bartering that while technically similar to the first method differs as you typically don't get money but other things instead, trading what you have for what someone else has basically." I explained patiently.
"That's better but we are kinda stuck at school until winter break you know." Terry pointed out.
I shrugged "Use a proxy then. Someone else who isn't stuck at school, a professor for example. Assuming you can convince one that is. You could also I suppose go to the Weasley twins Fred and George as well and cut a deal." I said frankly.
"What about you? Are you taking any of this?" Mike asked and I shook my head.
"I'm taking the book." I said and they both shrugged.
I carefully took the book from the podium and slid it inside my robes and secretly into my inventory before helping my friends move the two chests with the levitation spell. We drew a bit of attention as we popped out of the hidden doorway in the dungeons with these chests. I ignored that as we moved and soon left the dungeons and hurriedly made our way towards the common room. Or that was the plan before three familiar and annoying figures blocked our way.-
"Going somewhere Drake?" Malfoy asked with a sneer.
"Are you absolutely sure you want to do this Malfoy? You should be aware i'm not nearly such a soft target like Potter." I said calmly as I set the floating chests on the ground casually.
"You may not be as pathetic as Potter but you are just a mudblood." he spat arrogantly.
I shook my head "So narrow minded. Talent cares not for ones birth Malfoy, learn well this lesson. Perversa Mundi." I said as I swirled my wand in a wide arc.
For my friends and I nothing happened but for Malfoy and his two cronies the world twisted in strange nauseating ways. This spell was one I found in that charms book before that while not all that useful against skilled opponents because of it's obviousness for arrogant unskilled foes like Malfoy it was perfect. Rather hard to do much of anything when you can't tell left from right or up from down. The spell literally caused the way you perceive your surroundings to distort after all. It's effects would wear off in about five minutes so I casually lifted the two chests up again and we set off once more.-
Once we were back to the common room I set the chests down and different people started curiously coming to ask what was up with the chests and once they found out we somehow got an impromptu auction going.-
"Two galleons three sickles going once! Twice!"
"Three galleons!"
"Three galleons! Do I hear more?"
"Three and six sickles!"
I was somehow roped by my friends to act as the auctioneer for their stuff and I had to admit it was kinda fun. In the end I had to admit they made off with a hefty payday as split between them was ninety eight galleons, four sickles and two knuts.-
Additionally beyond money was the series of notes that the older students bid as well that I was eyeing hungrily even if they didn't belong to me. As for the two chests my friends simply chose to donate them to the house and set them at the side of the common room for whoever might need them. The funny part was that midway through the auction Flitwick showed up and looked downright flabbergasted until someone explained what was going on, then he joined in.-
"Goodness my boy you just can't help yourself can you?" the small man asked cheerfully after the noise died down.
I shrugged "To be fair I at least was careful this time." I said with a wry smile.
"Oh I don't doubt that at all. Once bitten twice shy as they say. Still I couldn't help but notice you didn't take any of the profits for yourself. You must have gotten something else from your exploration if I'm not mistaken." he said pointedly.
I reached into my robes and pulled the book out of my inventory.
"I took this as my share. If the title is not a deception it should be a tome on illusion magic." I said honestly.
"Ah, now theres a field that is often forgotten! Never had much of a taste for it myself, prefer the more flashy things you see." He said with a good natured chuckle.
"I can understand that, I am so far quite fond of illusions so this tome is a welcome prize." I said with a grin.
He nodded "Yes I have noticed. I simply can't be more approving. A wizard or witch who are passionate about a field of magic can achieve wonders. Though I admit it's rare for any to discover such a passion so early in their time here." he said with a smile.
"It's the potential Professor. Control the senses and you control the person." I said seriously.
"Indeed, the potential is there. If you can truly excavate it and show it to the world you'll be a force to be reckoned with." he said with a nod of agreement.
