"Can we take these off yet?" Megan asked as she fiddled with the eye mask blocking her vision, "It's been so long, I'm starting to forget what the sun looks like."
"It's only been…thirty minutes," I muttered, growing less confident as I checked the time.
Patty perked up, "Thirty minutes? We must be out of the town by now."
"Okay, where are you driving us? Normally, I'm down for a good surprise, but this is insane!" Megan cried out in mock outrage, "You won't even give us a hint at what it is."
"Alright, fine! You guys can take off your blindfolds." I conceded with a grin, making Megan and Patty let out a collective sigh of relief as they reached up and took off their masks.
I watched as Megan opened her eyes only to wince as the brilliant sun streaming in through the window overwhelmed her, "God, why is it so bright out?"
"Because it's reflecting off the ocean!" Patty called out excitedly as she peered out the window with squinted eyes, "We're going to the beach, I knew it!"
"That's what you had us blind folded for?" Megan asked as she turned to me, but I only shook my head, "No, it's not the beach, though it does involve the ocean."
"You're still not going to tell us?!" Megan asked with a look of disbelief.
"You'll figure it out soon enough. Besides, we're almost there," I assured her before turning my attention back to the road as we drove along to cost. True to my word, it wasn't long before the road we were on overlooked a massive pier with countless ships docked in the harbor.
"No way, did you get a boat?" Patty called out first with a grin on her face.
I nodded in confirmation, and both girls let out a squeal of excitement. "Okay, this makes up for the blindfold."
"Well, just wait until you see the boat I got us," I remarked as I put on my turn signal and took the off-ramp. A few minutes later, after buying an all-day ticket for parking, the girls and I were sitting in the lobby of the Club House, which looked the part of an upscale, very much elitist establishment.
"I didn't even know that our town had a yacht club," Patty said in between the bites of finger food that had been offered to us by the attendants.
"I think my mother mentioned it once," Megan muttered with a flute of champagne in her hand, "Back from when she was growing up."
"I always forget that your grandfather is stupidly rich," Patty replied with a smirk that made Megan roll her eyes, "Is that how you found out about this place, Ramon?"
"No, actually, it was through someone else," I answered vaguely.
"Probably that millionaire divorcee you've been messing with," Megan commented with a sly smile, having immediately seen through my elusiveness.
I opened my mouth to respond, but then my eye caught a flash of red as someone walked through the front door. A smile instantly crossed my lips as I stood and stared at Lois, who wore a flowing sundress that showed off her enviable figure and bust.
Sensing my eyes on her, Lois looked over and met my gaze with a flush across her cheeks.
"Oh Meg, your mom is here," Patty called out as I walked over and held out my arms to pull Lois into a tight hug that let my hands subtly explore her mature curves, "I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've last seen you."
"Well, don't make it any harder on me and keep your hands to yourselves," Lois muttered even as she stared at me with a twinkle in her eyes, "At least until we're somewhere a bit more secluded."
"Fine, I'll behave," I said, disappointed, as I pulled my hands back and guided Lois to where Megan and Patty were sitting.
"Hey mom, you're looking great. I love that dress," Megan greeted her mother with a broad smile as she stood up and opened her arms for a hug.
"Well, thank you, sweetie. I feel great as well. I have so much energy nowadays, I feel like I'm twenty again," Lois exclaimed as she moved into Megan's embrace before stepping back and smiling at Patty, "It's nice to see you as well, Patty."
"Thanks, Ms. Gr-," Patty faltered, realizing that the name she had used for Lois no longer applied.
"Just call me Lois, honey, it's easier that way," Lois quickly replied, and Patty let out a small sigh of relief. "Is it just the three of you so far?"
"Yeah, we got here just a few minutes ago, still haven't totally gotten over the shock," Megan answered with another glance around the clubhouse, "I kinda feel like I'm underdressed."
"You're fine, Meg, and I was just as surprised as you were when Ramon gave me the address. I never expected to come here again after I got married," Lois laughed, "It's been forever since I've gotten on a boat, I wonder if I still have my sea legs."
"Well, hopefully we'll be out at sea within the hour. We're waiting on two more parties to arrive," I informed while glancing at the clock.
"Two parties? Did you invite more people?" Lois asked as her eyebrows lifted in shock.
"We're only waiting on four people altogether, three of them are just carpooling," I explained as the front door opened again, "Speaking of..."
Lois and the girls turned, looking at the door as Tricia, Summer, and Beth walked through the door, all looking equally stunning.
"Summer, have I mentioned how much I value you as a friend?" Tricia muttered as she looked around the clubhouse.
"Are you only saying that because our friendship led you to sleep with a guy who takes us on yachts for free?" Summer deadpanned.
"And has a massive-"
"Could the two of you at least pretend like you have some decency?" Beth admonished, though her voice didn't have any real heat behind it.
"That's rich coming from you mom," Summer scoffed with a roll of her eyes, "You're a married woman getting on another man's yacht."
"And yet I still manage to have some class," Beth replied as she reached out and deftly plucked a wine glass from the tray of a passing server, "Now go say high to your himbo boss/boy toy before I decide to steal him for myself."
"Is that all I am now?" I asked, inserting myself into the conversation as I walked over.
"Believe me, there are worse things to be." Beth muttered as her eyes roamed over me without an ounce of shame, "You could be dumb and ugly."
"Mom!" Summer hissed while shooting her mother a glare, "You're going to get us kicked off the yacht before we could even make it onto the dock."
"No, I won't, he loves it," Beth replied confidently as she shot me a cocky smirk, "Must be nice to be around a girl who hasn't been cocked whipped into some spineless love-sick thrall."
"With all due respect, Mrs. Smith, you're only saying that because you haven't been on the receiving end of that cock," Tricia replied with a giggle.
"Well, if everything goes as planned, we'll be able to find out by the end of the day," Beth replied shamelessly as she took another sip from her glass, all while never breaking eye contact with me.
"God, this is going to be a long day. Please tell me we're getting on the boat soon?" Summer asked as she massaged her temples.
"Well, we're just waiting on one-"
Before I could complete my sentence, the door flew open once more as Ashe strode into the clubhouse and immediately locked onto me, "So this was the big surprise, tiger? If you needed a boat, you should have talked to me."
Ashe strode over with a smirk as she glanced over the three women standing in front of me, "Well, isn't this a party? I recognize the two of you from my cider deliveries. But I don't believe we've met before."
Beth met Ashe's gaze and must have found something she liked as she smiled, "Beth Smith, this one's mother. And you are?"
"Call me Ashe, and I'm this one's partner," Ashe replied as she reached out and put a hand on my chest, "Or at least I'm the latest one."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Beth inquired only for Ashe to grin, "Maybe you'll find out one day."
Before the banter could continue, I caught sight of an attendant making a beeline for me, and luckily, the girls caught on before they could say anything else noteworthy.
"Sir, your boat is ready to depart. You can leave at your leisure."
I grinned and clapped my hands, "Alright then, perfect timing, everyone just got here. I don't see any reason we need to stick around for a moment longer. Let's set sail!"
