A quick and short huff brings my attention to Grey, who is running to me, his face bloodied. He lets out a sharp huff again as if he were reprimanding me.
I ruffle his fur. "Are you mad at me because I ran off?"
He nods his head. "I'm sorry. But I had to so that I could take care of them properly, you know. I tilt my head to the men who are lying on the ground lifelessly.
A slow grin spreads across his face, and I smile at him. "As much as I would love to spend some time with you, let's get back to business for now, hmm?"
I push at him, and he leaves only after giving a long lick to my hand. As I look past him, I see some of our wolves continuing to fight even with the arrows on their backs.
That's not a good thing.
They can't move around while exposed to silver and wolfsbane. I hurry up to one of them and pat him on the back. "You need to get back or else it will get worse."
