"What's happening?" Lyra throws the covers off of her and gets out of bed.
I quickly grab her arm. "Don't. Go freshen up and get dressed, hmm? I'll see what's going on."
"But—" she starts to protest.
I cut her off. "You don't want to show up in front of everyone in nothing but my shirt, baby. Come on." I tap her ass a few times and direct her towards the bathroom.
Once I hear the sound of water running, I leave for downstairs. The scene that greets me as I reach the living room is a bit…intense, to say the least.
Vases are shattered around, and the plants and flowers in them are lying on the floor, and in the midst of it stands my cousin, being held by his trainees on either side.
He is breathing heavily like a caged animal as he stares down at the mess he has created.
"Cyrus! Talk some sense into him. He won't listen to me." Aunt Linda runs up to me, her voice full of panic and her eyes red.
