Chapter 8 - The Problem With Smart Daughters

In the dead of night, Suzy slipped past every camera in the mansion like a ghost without a shadow.

She muttered under her breath, pleased with herself.

"Such a waste of heavy bodyguards. Who do they think can stop me?"

Just as she was about to step past the main gate, a deafening siren exploded through the mansion.

Suzy jumped like a startled cat.

"What the hell—?!"

The alarm echoed through the estate like the country was under alien invasion.

Then she saw him.

Her father stepped out from the darkness with slow, unhurried steps.

"Sly old fox," she cursed under her breath.

With one hand tucked into his pocket, Mr. Jain walked forward with the authority of a king inspecting his territory. A smug smile rested on his face as he bent slightly toward her.

"Interesting. A sleeping tiger? You think it's dead? "

"Where do you think you're going, Ms. Suzy?"

"Wow. How polite of you, Mr. Jain." She deliberately emphasized his surname instead of calling him Father. "You even prepared such a lavish send-off."

She shot him a cold glare.

"Knowing your character, acting this calm means you're definitely planning something," he said casually, sounding far too pleased with himself. "This should be fancy enough for a troublemaker like you."

"Dad! Don't joke around. I'm not going to G Country!"

Suzy shot him a pleading look, though the cunning glint in her eyes remained obvious.

"Since you're the heiress of this family, you should act like one." His expression sharpened slightly. "You may be cunning, but this ends here."

"With a face like mine, do you seriously think there won't be news about me abroad?" Suzy scoffed dramatically. "I already hate this pretty face for being too popular."

"Oh?" He raised a brow.

"If you hate that pretty face so much," he said lazily, "then go there as a man."

"Haven't I told you this before?"

Suzy froze.

Mr. Jain smirked wider.

"I prepared this much already. Did you think I wouldn't notice you sneaking around disguised as James?" He clicked his tongue in fake disappointment. "Wow. I have such a handsome nephew. Maybe my daughter shouldn't inherit the family fortune after all."

"You—!"

Suzy pointed at him furiously.

"ARE YOU EVEN MY REAL DAD?!"

"Stop shouting."

He waved a hand dismissively.

The bodyguards immediately grabbed Suzy and dragged her back toward the mansion.

"You know me best," she shouted while struggling. "Do you seriously think I'll stay still even after I get there?"

Mr. Jain stopped walking.

"What do you want?"

Suzy suddenly smiled.

"Let's make a deal."
