Obito stood on a high shadow-draped branch, his eye narrowed as he watched years of his meticulously crafted schemes unravel. The culprit... specifically Aya, Kumo's infamous "Lightning Princess." Swift, typhoon, storm release Kekkei Genkai she had spent the last few minutes purging the battlefield of Kirigakure's influence.
Obito could have stepped onto the field and crushed her himself, ending the nuisance in a matter of seconds. But Madara's warnings were clear: Keep your identity in the dark. Do not compromise the long game for short-term goals.
"He had better have mastered the Three-Tails by now," Obito muttered to himself as results were not satisfactory. "Otherwise, I'll kill the fool myself for wasting my time."
He was warped in a swirling vortex around his eye. In an instant, he vanished into his Kamui dimension, heading off to retrieve his brainwashed puppet, the Mizukage.

Kagami Uchiha seized an opening, his eyes flashing red as he cast a high-level three-tomoe Genjutsu at the disoriented Aya. A few dozen yards away, Kaien noticed the subtle stiffening in his mother's stance as she was caught in it.
"Damn it, I'm too far! I have to get close to break her out of it!" But he was pinned down by Utakata as he detonated wave after wave of his never-ending explosive soap bubbles before they could drift towards his mother.
Aya, however, was not someone who wanted rescue. Though she was battered, bleeding, and exhausted from continuous combat, she didn't even know her son has come back to help, she was in a trance of her own. She forced her willpower through the Genjutsu, using the pain of her existing wounds to snap her mind back to reality.
Without missing a beat, Aya extended her hands and brought them together, cupping them before her chest as she drew in a long breath.
"Storm Release: Thundercloud Inner Wave!"
A dense unnatural ring of pitch-black thunderclouds crackled around her, churning with streaks of electricity. It formed a deadly, dual-purpose ward that crushed incoming attacks while giving her a defense to fire devastating lightning blasts outward. The electrified barrier hissed, completely sealing off the Kirigakure elites from pressing their advantage.
"Mother, three o'clock!" Kaien roared, calling out coordinates as he tracked the enemy positions.
Aya moved instantly, her surprise at her son's arrival was short lived as she smirked and flared white light exploded around her ankles as she engaged her Swift Release alongside her Lightning Cloak. She flicked out of sight. Utakata tried to intercept her, shifting his focus toward Kaien to create distance-closing explosions and disrupt Aya's path, but Kaien broke his attacks, keeping the jinchuriki occupied.
Fuguki stood on high alert as his instincts were screaming to dodge but against Aya's blinding speed, it meant nothing. In less than a heartbeat, she was already behind him. She raised her hand, resting an index finger lightly against the back of his head.
"Storm Release: Light Bullet."
In that microsecond, Fuguki knew death had caught up with him. He didn't even bother attempting to dodge he knew could not. Instead, with his final burst of motor function, his jaw clamped hard on a black incinerating pill hidden in his mouth... a suicide contingency handed down to every elite by Yagura.
A needle-thin laser of light punched straight through Fuguki's skull. A fraction of a second later, the pill took effect as flames erupted from inside his body, devouring him in a flash. Within seconds, nothing was left of him but ash, leaving behind not a single strand of harvestable DNA.
Mei, Utakata, Mangetsu, and Kisame froze at the reality of the situation hit them all at once as everyone thought: "We can't win this."
Even with Ao feeding them with the location data from a distance, and even with Kagami's Sharingan, the dark thunderclouds continuing to envelop Aya and Kaien gave Kumo total tactical control, the momentum of the battle had shifted with three of the Kiri elite dead: Juzo, Zabuza and Fuguki.
Then Kaien caught a flicker of chakra at 11'0 clock from his Byakugan. His eyes widened as he felt an oppressive presence sweeping toward their location. He had been so focused on managing the Kirigakure's elite that he had nearly missed the Mizukage arriving on the scene.
"Mother, their Mizukage is coming! We need to leave." Kaien called out laced with urgency.
Farther back, Ao relayed the exact same news to the surviving Kiri elite. Mei's face contorted in frustration. "Stall them! Don't let them try to escape... maintain defensive formation." she commanded stepping forward and exhaled a massive surging dome of molten lava to trap the duo alongside their own thunderclouds.
Inside the lava dome trap, Aya let out a low laugh that grew into a loud one. "Leave? Escape?" she said, striking her right fist into her open left palm... her battle-addicted blood was calling her for the fight. "We're just getting started!" She closed her eyes to begin forcefully pulling chakra back into her depleted reserves to prepare herself for the battle, she did not even bother to listen to her son.
Kaien felt a sweat break out on his neck. "She's lost in the rush." He knew what was going to happen.. they couldn't stand their ground against two Tailed Beasts with his mother injuries and chakra depletion unless he threw away his secrecy of being a jinchuriki and unsealed Son Goku... a move that would trigger catastrophic fallout. His mother was riding an adrenaline rush that would see this brawl out until her heart stopped, and he refused to let her die here.
"I have to force the exit myself and convince mother," he thought as he started to weave three hand seals: Dragon -> Tiger -> Dog.
"Yin Release: False Distortion."
A subtle wave of Yin chakra expanded outward, blanketing the area within a few dozen breaths time. Kaien carefully bypassed the main Kiri combatants... he had already used subtle Genjutsu on Utakata, Kisame, and Mangetsu earlier and couldn't risk them noticing this layered perception. Instead, he channeled the full force of the technique into Ao and his sensory clones, altering the mental map of the battlefield in their minds.
Under the influence of Yin Release, Ao's mind smoothly accepted a false reality: the chakra signatures inside the thundercloud had vanished breaking a hole into Mei's Lava Dome from the opposite side.
"Mei-sama, stop!" Ao called out, his expression showing bitter defeat. "They're gone. They aren't inside the dome anymore. Kumo's commander used her Swift Release to haul themselves out of range."

A/N: Obito has been watching the battle, but left to bring back Mizukage after seeing her kill Juzo, Zabuza and never noticed Kaien's arrival or interference. So, he still does not know Kaien has his other Sharingan.
