"And an additional clause," the Raikage added. "The peace treaty is null and void if either side attempts to steal the Jinchuriki or a Tailed Beast from the other."
Danzo's mind wandered off to Pakura who was currently pursuing the Two-tails jinchuriki. She will not be found anyways even if she was found she will kill herself and the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal would ensure no secrets escaped her. Even if Pakura's identity comes out, she will be tied to Suna and in no way it will effect Konoha.
Danzo nodded solemnly as he looked toward the clan heads. None disagreed. "We, Konoha, agree to these terms."
"We need half a day to arrange the ryo and prepare the scrolls," Danzo concluded. "We will meet at the Konoha Main Gate at sunset for the exchange."
The Raikage gave a nod, turned and led his delegation out of the room.
~~
On one side stood the Konoha elites led by the Danzo. On the other, the Kumo envoy was centered around the Raikage.
Danzo stepped forward as he held a massive, ornate scroll.
"This contains the reparations we agreed on," Danzo said. "The full sum of the 5 billion ryo, the four forbidden techniques, and the one S-Rank and two A-rank scrolls of all nature transformations. "
The Raikage snatched the scroll, unrolling it with a snap and unsealed the contents. He signaled his elites, who swarmed the payment crates, counting the ryo. The Raikage himself scanned the forbidden techniques. His eyes darted across the seals, looking for the tell-tale signs of a forgery, a self-destruct seals or any FTG seals.
After a several tense minutes, a Kumo subordinate gave a nod to the Raikage that the money was real and the count was correct.
"If there is nothing else," Danzo prompted, his eye narrowing, "we shall proceed. Kaien and Kushina will be exchanged simultaneously with no tricks."
The Raikage nodded, his gaze shifting to Kushina Uzumaki. Kaien and Kushina walked slowly as they looked at each other faces.
Kushina and Kaien met at the halfway point, as they crossed paths, they stopped. It was a moment of silence as Kushina looked into Kaien's eyes, searching for the little boy she knew. But she sensed something off earlier.
"Kaien," she whispered, her voice barely a breath. "What is my goal?"
It was a simple question, but one with only one right answer. Inoichi Yamanaka, who was puppeteering Kaien's body, felt a cold spike of adrenaline. He hadn't been briefed on a their conversation in fact no one would have known. He froze for a fraction of a second, a flicker of hesitation, confusion and doubt that Kushina's Negative Emotions Sensing picked up instantly.
"Kaien is being controlled... Inoichi, huh," she realized.
But Kushina was no longer the impulsive girl of her youth. She had a grander design... a dream of a rebuilding Uzushiogakure. To do that, she needed more than strength; she needed assets. Her eyes flickered toward Orochimaru, the one who had no loyalty to Konoha and is a scientific genius. "I will need him for the Uzushiogakure that I will build," Kushina thought.
"Of course," Kaien finally replied. "You redhead, you just want to get back to Konoha."
Kushina felt a pang of guilt, she wanted to thank him but not like this. "I'm sorry, Kaien. I will save you later. But first I must attend to something."
"Is it?" she replied with a hauntingly soft smile so Konoha don't doubt her usual self. "You're right."
She continued her walk, specifically positioning herself directly behind Orochimaru. Mito Uzumaki watched her every move with narrowed eyes.
~~
On the Kumo side, Aya ran forward, throwing her arms around Kaien in a desperate hug.
"Put me down, mother. I am an adult," Inoichi-as-Kaien muttered and pushed her away, trying to play the part of the stoic son.
The Raikage's brow furrowed, though Kaien usually didn't like Aya teasing him he never says to stop or push her away.
Before the Raikage could speak, Danzo demanded Kumo's promise. "The Key for the seal on Kushina and the curse placed on Minato."
The Raikage tossed a small, black scroll through the air. "The key for the Nine-Tails is there. As for the curse on Namikaze... it no longer exists."
Danzo caught it and read its contents. And immediately handed it to Lady Mito for reverification.
At the same time, Sango Hibaku, a Kumo shinobi who had survived the most brutal fronts of the war alongside Dodai against Inoichi and Choza, asked, "Why have we not seen Inoichi Yamanaka during this entire journey? A high-ranking clan head should have at least made his appearance and be at the front of a final hand-off like this."
The Raikage's mind immediately shifted gears. He turned his gaze toward the "Kaien" standing next to Aya.
"Kaien... or should I say, Inoichi? Are you Inoichi?" The Raikage's voice was a low growl.
Panic struck Inoichi, facing the Raikage's silhouette. He panicked, and severed the link abruptly. Kaien's body collapsed instantly, falling like a marionette whose strings had been cut. Aya caught him, checking for a pulse and breathing, her face pale.
"He's alive," she breathed, "and stable."
The Raikage's face went dark. "I did not want to use this," he said. "I intended for this to be a fallback if you played us for fools. Well, Danzo... you played the fool."
He looked at Sango Hibaku. "Do it."
"Yes, Raikage-sama." "Kai!"
Mito taking the scroll, Sango doubting Inoichi's existence and the Raikage ordering him... all happened in the same breath.
Sango Hibaku was a master of the Explosion Release (Bakuton). While the Konoha shinobi had been focused on the Raikage, Sango had been busy planting minute, mild high-frequency explosive chakra "seeds" throughout the Konoha area and the surrounding civilian sectors where he walked through his feet. But, they were not too destructive.
Bakuton: Hōkai Dan (Collapse Bomb).
A series of muffled thuds echoed from within the village. Plumes of smoke began to rise over the Konoha skyline. At the same moment, the "Dodai" standing by the Raikage began to hiss and deflate. It was a Lava Release: Human Balloon... a high-level decoy. The real Dodai had never even been at the gate.
In the chaos of the first explosions, Mito Uzumaki's attention on the scroll. That was the only opening Kushina needed.
Adamantine Sealing Chains
Golden chains erupted from her back. The Adamantine Sealing Chains... the ultimate bloodline limit of the Uzumaki... shot out. Orochimaru, who was usually five steps ahead of everyone, was caught completely off guard, as Kushina's character did not warrant him such guard to be placed. The chains wrapped around him in a spiral, sealing and absorbing his chakra.
Kushina didn't hesitate. She leapt forward toward the Kumo lines, dragging the paralyzed Sannin along with her like a prize.
