Victoria looked at me and said firmly,
"Go start the fire… and don't peek over here."
I chuckled and began arranging the firewood just outside the entrance of the bamboo house.
Victoria then turned to the other two women.
"You two change your clothes. I'll keep an eye on him."
From the corner of my vision, I saw Maya and Rachel nod and move deeper inside the shelter, partially hidden behind Mom's figure.
A moment later, Victoria's sharp voice cut through the air again.
"What are you looking this way for? Turn around."
I obediently turned so that my back faced the interior of the house.
Soft rustling of wet fabric followed. Because Maya's red dress was still clinging tightly to her skin, Rachel's quiet voice reached me.
"Boss, let me help you… The dress is stuck."
There was the soft sound of fabric being peeled away from damp skin.
A short pause, then Rachel spoke again, more decisively.
