I didn't hesitate. "Everyone, hold on to me!" I grabbed both Madeline and Daisy tightly and jumped from the failing chopper just before it careened toward the nearby rooftop.
We hit the surface hard, rolling across gravel. The crashing chopper continued its deadly path, threatening to collide.
It was a ten-story drop to the street. I secured Madeline on my left and Daisy on my right.
"This is going to be rough—trust me!" I shouted. We leaped off the edge. Wind roared past as we plummeted toward a parked car below.
I twisted mid-air, landing with my back crashing heavily onto the vehicle's roof. Metal crumpled with a deafening crunch, windows shattering from the force. The car alarm blared wildly.
Madeline coughed violently from the jarring impact, gasping and clutching her chest. "Ahh… it hurts… my ribs…" she whimpered, her face contorted in pain and shock. "We jumped from a helicopter… again! How are we even alive? I thought we were all going to die up there!"
