Chapter 118 - fire

The hatch opened easily.

Ki-Moon jumped without any hesitation.

He slipped into a dark tunnel

Which seemed to last forever

Then

– ah-

the void

His foot met nothing.

His body toppled into the void.

He didn't even have time to understand.

The darkness of the passage disappeared above him as he fell into an immense space.

The wind immediately whipped across his face.

Ki-Moon tried to grab onto something.

Her fingers met only emptiness.

But suddenly it seemed to be cushioned by invisible plates that were passing it around.

Two.

Ten

twenty

and the last one let him down.

leaving him secreting heavily on the ground

A field.

Turned earth.

Trenches.

Explosions.

Dozens of figures ran between the defensive lines.

Then a burst of energy crossed the space.

TATATA DATA.....TATATA

Ki-Moon barely had time to fully recover his senses before an explosion violently lifted him from the ground.

A searing pain shot through his arm.

It rolled for several meters before coming to a stop.

His breathing caught in his throat.

He tried to move.

His left arm refused to follow.

Ki-Moon grits his teeth.

He didn't need to think about it for long.

His shoulder was dislocated.

- Shit…

A detonation was heard a few meters away.

From the earth rose into the air.

Ki-Moon sat up immediately.

He had no idea where he was.

But he had understood one thing.

He was in the middle of a war.

Shots were coming from all directions.

Players in orange and blue moved between the trenches.

Above them, red notifications kept appearing.

[ENEMY DETECTED.]

[POSITION REPORTED.]

[TARGET .]

Ki-Moon looked around him in a panic.

A real massacre.

On a hill, an American flag flew above a fortified position.

Further on, behind a line of sandbags, another emblem clearly indicated the opposing team.

India.

He had just fallen into a game and no one seemed to have noticed that an extra player had just fallen from the ceiling.

Not yet.

A bullet hit the ground next to him.

Ki-Moon is a genius.

He drove up to a half-collapsed trench.

A second ball hit the rim.

Then a third one.

– We are not the only ones.

He pressed himself against the wall.

His breathing was shallow.

His left arm hung uselessly.

He quickly glanced at his surroundings.

The trench was narrow.

In front of him, several players were running towards an advanced position.

On the right, an explosion had just cut off part of the field.

On the left, the shots were even more numerous.

It's impossible to get out that way.

He had to wait.

But something was flashing above his head.

Rouge.

ERROR

Ki-Moon looked up.

A notification was floating directly in his field of vision.

[ ERROR.]

[ERROR.]

[LOCATION TRANSMITTED.]

His face changed, becoming deathly white.

– My watch...

He understood immediately.

The system considered it a virus.

And as long as his watch was working, his position was probably being communicated to the other participants.

Another notification appeared.

[ADDITIONAL TARGET DETECTED.]

Then :

[DISPOUS.]

Ki-Moon barely managed to pull out his watch, but in his haste he let it slip into the sand.

- shit

Her fingers were trembling slightly, which really wasn't helping her.

He used his right hand to pick up the bracelet.

Another bullet struck the ground above him.

It flattens out.

and rattled his watch again.

Click.

He smashes the watch.

The screen went black.

All notifications disappeared.

The battlefield continued to rumble around him.

But the red marker above his head faded away.

Ki-Moon waited.

The shooting gradually ceased in his direction.

But his trump card had just been damaged.

in the middle of a battlefield.

A voice suddenly rang out above the trench.

– He was there!

Ki-Moon looked up.

An American figure had just appeared on the edge.

He immediately bent down.

A bullet passed over his head.

The man disappeared behind the trench.

Ki-Moon stopped moving.

A few seconds later, he heard voices.

– The additional target has disappeared.

– It no longer appears on the system.

– Then go look for her!

Ki-Moon huddled further in the trench.

If it remained hidden, someone would eventually find it.

What if he tried to cross the battlefield alone...?

He probably wouldn't go very far.

He looked at his injured arm.

Then his watch in pieces

– the curse of this cube is so tenacious

His left arm was throbbing painfully.
