Her tone had lost much of the amusement that had danced across her face since he arrived, and it was replaced by an unusual seriousness that made the air inside the hut feel heavier.
She slowly lifted one clawed finger. "First." Her single eye was locked onto his. "I do not raise the dead."
She let the words linger before continuing.
"It is not because I lack the power to do so. On the contrary, I possess the knowledge and the magic required, but I refuse to meddle with such magic." She gave a dismissive wave of her hand.
"It is simply a troublesome affair, one that carries consequences far greater than most mortals could ever comprehend."
