Several nearby nobles were already beginning to glance over discreetly. Daeron noticed immediately, of course he noticed.The bastard noticed everything. But like always he pretended not to notice and enjoy the spotlight.
"Well then," Daeron continued pleasantly, "since you asked so politely, I suppose I shall honor your request."
He turned toward Lady Selene.
"I'll be right back, dear."
The witch Seraphielle, hidden beneath the guise of Lady Selene, smiled politely and inclined her head.
"Take your time, Your Highness."
Daeron rose to his feet with effortless grace before gesturing for Cedric to lead the way.
