Chapter 319 - Chapter 319: Lumine’s Complaint: Turning a Peace Star into Ice Water Is Such a Waste! Paimon Gives Up

"Sigh… there's no saving her."

Seeing her master's reaction,

Ganyu rubbed her forehead and let out a helpless sigh.

She didn't know why Cloud Retainer had managed to obtain a Peace Star last time,

but it was obvious that Boss Han's rewards were not easy to get.

If it were that simple,

then everyone could casually obtain a Peace Star.

And if that happened, all of Teyvat would already be in chaos.

However, Cloud Retainer ignored Ganyu's thoughts and instead looked at Han Feng with hopeful eyes.

"Boss Han, what do you think of Ganyu's earlier suggestion?"

"Sorry, everything in this shop depends on luck. There are no shortcuts."

Han Feng shook his head.

He truly hadn't expected Cloud Retainer to come up with such an idea—trying to trade Ganyu's romantic fate, or even her own.

But clearly, that wouldn't work.

Just as Ganyu had reasoned, if rewards were that easy to obtain,

the world would fall into disorder.

Last time had simply been an exception—a burst of extraordinary luck.

"I see…"

Hearing the answer,

Cloud Retainer felt disappointed.

Her carefully devised plan had failed.

Looks like she would have to read manga the honest way.

With a sigh, she placed a pouch of Mora on the counter and hopped toward the bookshelf.

Mixed Feelings

"Thank goodness…"

After seeing Boss Han refuse, Ganyu quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Even though she had been single for three thousand years, she didn't want her romantic destiny to disappear in such a muddled way.

But then—why did she feel a hint of disappointment?

"Anything else?"

Han Feng asked with a smile, noticing her still standing at the counter.

"N-no, that's all! I'll go read manga now."

Flustered,

Ganyu quickly placed a pouch of Mora down

and hurried toward the shelves.

Originally, she had intended to give Boss Han her own token of gratitude.

But after Cloud Retainer's dramatic interruption, she felt too embarrassed to bring it up.

She decided to wait for another opportunity.

"Women's thoughts really are hard to understand…"

Han Feng murmured to himself, then calmly poured himself a cup of tea.

Choosing Manga

Near the bookshelf, Cloud Retainer had already selected a title—a comedy.

"Tom and Jerry? You're reading that, Cloud Retainer?"

Ganyu asked curiously.

"I had no choice. Carbot was already taken."

Cloud Retainer replied helplessly.

She felt unlucky today—nothing had gone her way.

Her plan had failed, and now even the manga she wanted was unavailable.

So, in her gloomy mood, she picked a comedy to relax.

Ganyu nodded and began searching for her own book.

"Oh right—Lady Ningguang mentioned that Doraemon is very interesting."

She suddenly remembered.

Earlier, the group had shared recommendations in their phone chat.

Ningguang had said that Doraemon contained many powerful tools.

She herself had obtained an item called the Object Exchange Machine—a device capable of recycling various items.

Apparently, even a Vision had been recycled through it.

"In that case, I'll read this one."

A small smile appeared on Ganyu's face.

She took the manga and walked into the reading area alongside Cloud Retainer.

Soon after they left, more customers began arriving, and the shop grew lively once again.

Discussion Area — Lumine Finishes Reading

Compared to other stories, Carbot had a simple plot.

So Lumine quickly finished reading it.

"So that's how Peace Stars work…"

Closing the book, understanding flashed in her eyes.

She had heard about their power before, but since she hadn't witnessed it directly,

her grasp had been vague.

Now, after reading the story, she finally understood clearly.

And honestly—she felt a bit speechless.

Aside from a few major achievements, most uses of Peace Stars in the story were… ridiculous.

For example:

Removing scars from Shark Pepper

Changing a robot's body shape

And most absurd of all—

In one episode, a Peace Star was used to turn into a glass of iced water

"Such a waste!"

Thinking about those scenes, Lumine couldn't help complaining.

A treasure capable of fulfilling grand wishes— used for things like that?

If she had a Peace Star:

First wish — Stay with Han Feng foreverSecond wish — Find her brotherThird wish — Handle everything else

Wouldn't that be far better than asking for a glass of ice water?

"Forget it. I'll just go ask Han Feng for my reward."

Shaking her head, she stood up with the manga in hand.

But when she glanced at Paimon, she immediately burst into laughter.

Paimon's Struggle

Paimon was sprawled across the sofa, one hand pressed against her lips, the other scratching her head repeatedly.

Her face was full of frustration.

The manga in front of her hadn't been turned for ages.

"Ahhh, I'm going crazy! The protagonist keeps changing the past—it's completely confusing me!"

Suddenly, Paimon grabbed her hair with both hands, then collapsed face-down onto the book, looking utterly defeated.

This manga was too hard.

She couldn't handle it.

"Paimon, what's wrong? Can't keep going?"

Lumine walked over with a grin.

"Lumine, this manga is way too complicated. My brain hurts!"

Paimon sat up,

wearing a resentful expression.

"It's fine. Take it slowly. Remember that person last night? He went through the same process. You'll understand it within a day at most."

Lumine raised her fist encouragingly.

"A day? Then I'd rather just give up."

Paimon shook her head immediately.

One whole day sounded terrifying.

She still wanted to go take photos of buildings with Lumine later.

"If you give up, you'll owe Han Feng four conditions."

Lumine raised four fingers as a reminder.

"Four conditions? That's nothing."

Paimon shrugged.

Four or two—what difference did it make?

After all, when you already owe a lot, a little more doesn't matter.

She had finally reached a realization:

Trying so hard just to beat the boss wasn't worth the suffering.

Relaxing and lying flat felt much better.

So— she decided to fully embrace it.

"Yep. I'm just going to slack off."
