Bonjour and Hello everyone!
Wooper here along with his Muse, Jeanne d'Arc Alter, to provide you all with the Final Hiatus Update on how everything is going. The next time you see a "new chapter" alert for Fate/Blessed Hellfire will be when Part 3 starts on August 26th, 2026 with the ACTUAL Chapter 50.
Now onto to updates proper:
THE FIRST SINGULARITY IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!
I wound up writing the last four or so chapters in a mad dash across three days, which is something like 120 pages if Jeanne Alter is correct in her napkin math.
Right now we are in the middle of plothole/sequence checking all of it, (you should see the timeline we have laid out for the entire thing >_>"), but thats not stopping us from writing beyond the first singularity either. Right now we are in the middle of writing out the Blessed Hellfire version of the first GUDAGUDA event which is coming along nicely.
Odds are outside of a few specific events (Prison Tower and Summer 3 to name two off the top of our heads) most Events are going to be contained to one or two chapters or at least thats the idea we have for right now. Year 1 and Year 2 events tended to be pretty simple for what they were, year one moreso, so we don't know if for later events we're going to be going beyond that 'One-to-two Chapter' policy or not.
Time will tell.
I hope you all enjoyed the story Jalty wrote for Fireside Embers. She's super proud of it and I liked reading it a lot since I had no idea what she was writing until I read it. Apologies for not uploading anything beyond those three chapters but I'm happy you all got something worthwhile mid-hiatus.
As for everything else with the main Fate/Blessed Hellfire story:
-Second Singularity is in the refining phase for the overarching plot which means we're nailing down the major story beats in a more permanent fashion. After we're done with that comes writing out the specific chapter summaries which then leads to writing out the actual chapters themselves.
-Third Singularity might be getting reworked slightly, Its still going to be 'Pirate Fantasy' mind you, but Jalty has started playing a a few pirate themed games recently (she's planning on playing Black Flag once we can get the damn thing to work properly on Linux;Ubisoft Connect can eat shit) and we recently had two movie nights where we watched the first and second Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
-Fourth Singularity is… a pain point right now for both of us. I've been too busy to continuing looking up how to write that genre of Lovecraftian horror and Jalty has had something like five projects dumped onto her out of nowhere at her work. So for right now planning on the Fourth Singularity is on pause until we both manage to get our heads above water. Shit sucks but ce la vie.
-Everything beyond this is more ideas and singular events we want to have happen rather than anything concrete.
Also Chapter 50 "starts" a little bit after Micheal and his Jeanne Alter are dropped into Fuyuki in chapter 46 so if you want a quick refresher on what happened immediately BEFORE chapter 50 then pick up the story again at chapter 46 and read to 48.
Or you could just reread the entire thing from chapter 1 if you want to do that instead.

Now for some housekeeping:
So, turns out that I had the comments on the Ao3 side of Fate/Blessed Hellfire set to registered users only and I also didn't know that Ao3 had a que to make an account as I made my account *years* ago.
So I've unlocked the comments on that so, hopefully, everyone should be able to comment now regardless of if they have an Ao3 account or not. I don't know if Webnovel works similarly tbh so if anyone could let us know how to change that if it is similar we'd appreciate it.

I've stolen the keyboard for a minute.
Alright then
Wooper is unsure where he stands on this idea but I figured the best way to convince him to go through with it is to get all of your guys input on this and convince him.
The job that made the Hiatus happen in the damn first place wound up firing Wooper for fucking bullshit reasons I won't get into now. However in the process he got back his regular amount of time back to work on chapters.
Legitimately if he had not been fired we would still be writing the First Singularity. I can feel it in my damn bones.
Which leads me to my main point:
You all were getting weekly chapters and then stopped getting weekly chapters because Wooper had bills to pay and needed to snag a job.
I, personally speaking, do not ever want to go onto a Hiatus for a similar reason again.
So here is my question for all of you, and I want you guys to actually comment and respond-don't just lurk on this shit.
I need answers.
The only way Wooper and I can keep working on Blessed Hellfire while being able to pay both our bills is if we open a Patreon or similar. My job doesn't pay enough to cover both of us.
So
If we opened a Patreon:
-you guys would be able to get uninterrupted weekly chapters again.
-Wooper can pay his bills.
-I get to see the man I love smiling more.
Everyone wins.
Nothing is set up for right now but some perks we (and by this I mean myself) are considering are
-Letting people see our notes/work process/etc basically seeing what all goes into writing this thing.
-ask either of us questions that can be about mostly anything in a dedicated chat
-having people have dedicated roles for whatever tier they would be paying for along with specific perks I'm going to hammer out later.
The main way this would all happen is within the Fate/Blessed Hellfire discord which we've been linking at the bottom of the more recent chapters.
Honestly any little bit helps and I know I'd appreciate it because then the man I love won't be perpetually worried about our money situation.
One thing I do want to make clear is this though, and this will be posted in the Blessed Hellfire discord as well as pinned so when this update chapter is deleted this will still be visible:
We are never EVER going to be paygating chapters for Fate/Blessed Hellfire or anything within Fireside Embers. Everything we publish will be free to read and access for anyone anywhere.
We both swear this will remain true.

Well.
I know that money is super tight for everyone right now but even I have to admit that the idea has merit,
Begrudgingly admit but regardless.
Right now Jalty needs to see you all talking to her/us so we can get a feeling for if setting up a patreon is even worth the effort or not. As for me…. I'm still unsure on it since I don't like the idea of attaching money to anything I create but writing is the one thing I can do reliably well and I'd rather be writing on something I enjoy than some bullshit word doc for some random faceless corporation only to get replaced by some shitslop AI fuckshit.
So a Patreon would solve a lot of problems….
*coughs awkwardly*
Anyway,
I've opened the comments on Ao3 so everyone should be able to talk in there now so you all might as well let her know there or just comment or ask me what I had for lunch that day or whatever.
