Chapter 120 - Chapter 120 - Two Years Later (III)

As he had become the Ruler of the Blue Polar Star in the previous three months, he possessed sufficient power and authority to shape the world according to his will. Although his initial plan was to spend the next nine months simply enjoying life alongside his wives, in practice he still began to set his projects in motion.

After all, even while desiring a period of rest, someone in his position simply could not completely ignore greater responsibilities and ambitions.

Because of this, a great many things happened over the following months.

What began as a simple place of seclusion eventually transformed into something far greater.

The "Mountain of the Venerable Demon Immortals" ceased to be merely a sacred ground for cultivation and was officially recognized as the Sacred Land of the Royal Family of the Illusory Demon Realm.

Under his direct command, the entire Illusory Demon Realm began to change.

Messengers were dispatched to every corner of the three continents. Invitations were delivered to experts, hidden geniuses, wandering cultivators, forgotten veterans, and even individuals with dubious reputations.

The main criterion was not talent—since he could easily open all of someone's Profound Entrances, granting them the best possible cultivation speed without issue—what mattered to him was personality, loyalty, and the willingness to pay the price, as he would place a "Slave Mark" on anyone who accepted.

Even knowing they might lose their freedom, countless profound practitioners still stepped forward voluntarily. Well, he hadn't built an impeccable reputation for nothing…

Thus was born the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult.

An organization that answered to no sect, clan, or external authority.

It served only the Royal Family of the Illusory Demon Realm.

The structure of the cult was organized as follows: Outer Court and Inner Court.

The outer members consisted of thousands of profound practitioners recruited from various backgrounds.

But the true core of power lay in the Inner Court.

The original Twelve Guardian Families were fully integrated into the new order. Their patriarchs, who once ruled their clans with near-absolute autonomy, now occupied even higher positions. They became the Twelve Principal Elders of the Inner Court of the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult…

Each of them commanded legions of experts, controlled immense resources, and administered entire territories within the Illusory Demon Realm. Far from losing prestige, their authority had been expanded to a scale previously unthinkable.

But the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult did not remain merely the dominant force of a single continent.

In a short time, it transformed into the Supreme Power of the Three Continents.

Each continent came to have its own main branch, governed by twelve elders. In total, there were thirty-six elders, forming a colossal power structure that encompassed the entire known world…

And these were not ordinary leaders. Every one of them possessed cultivation at the Tenth Level of the Sovereign Profound Realm—beings who stood just one step away from ascending to the legendary Divine Profound Realm.

As for the Sacred Grounds of the Profound Sky Continent, the four of them had been incorporated into the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult, but they were not dissolved. Instead, they assumed the position of high-level subordinate forces, retaining broad internal autonomy.

They still governed their own territories, managed their disciples, and preserved their traditions, but on major matters they answered directly to the authority of the Cult.

Not only the Sacred Grounds, but also various major powers he had previously subdued from the Azure Cloud Continent received the same treatment.

This policy allowed local powers to continue existing and prospering while simultaneously ensuring absolute loyalty to the new world order.

Thus, instead of destroying the old power structures, he had reorganized them all under a single banner…

With this, he successfully placed the entire Blue Polar Star under his command…

Setting his grand project aside, he fulfilled his promise and spent as much time as possible with his three wives, creating happy memories and enjoying a surprisingly peaceful life. The days were filled with walks, quiet conversations, and shared moments of intimacy, while the nights—long and silent—were rarely devoted to rest…

Naturally, he always reserved some time for cultivation.

Speaking of which, on the day he asked Jasmine to teach him the [Star God Broken Shadow], something truly astonishing happened. With a single glance, he completely understood the technique. In a short period, he not only mastered it—he directly elevated it to the eighth stage, surpassing even the level Jasmine had reached after years of meticulous cultivation…

The [Star God Broken Shadow] was the only movement Profound Art belonging to the Star God Arts and possessed a total of eight stages. When used, the practitioner's speed would explode instantly, reaching such an absurd level that even the afterimages left by the movement had no time to fade. In practice, these "afterimages" became almost indistinguishable from the original body, giving the impression that the user had multiplied while moving at breathtaking speeds. To any observer, it appeared as though several real bodies were acting simultaneously.

It was said that upon reaching the highest mastery of this skill, even opponents three to five levels higher would still have enormous difficulty defeating the user.

Jasmine, despite her extraordinary talent, had cultivated the technique only to the sixth stage, capable of creating six extremely realistic phantoms.

He, on the other hand, went straight to the pinnacle.

Eight identical figures appeared at once, moving in perfect synchrony and impossible to distinguish between real and illusory…

The result left Jasmine completely stunned.

For a long moment, she was simply speechless, staring at his multiple images as though witnessing something beyond logic. Her expression ended up being surprisingly amusing to watch…

After that unbelievable demonstration, he continued learning other Profound Arts from Jasmine throughout the following nine months.

Among them were the [Great Buddha Path] and even the [Heavenly Hell Wolf God Tome].

The [Great Buddha Path], also known as the "Forbidden Heavenly Tome," was a forbidden-rank Divine Profound Art belonging to a True God of the Primordial Era—an existence once called the God of Wrath. Unlike most techniques, its cultivation did not rely on battle or physical training, but solely on comprehension. Once assimilated, the power of the art manifested in the form of a Silver Pagoda that affixed itself to the practitioner's forehead. As cultivation advanced, the pagoda changed color and radiated an increasingly profound glow, symbolizing the internal transformations of body and soul…

The Great Buddha Path possessed a total of twelve stages.

The first stage aimed to absorb the vitality of the world, allowing that energy to completely fill, refine, and transform the body—flesh, blood, bones, organs, marrow, and even hair. It was, essentially, a physical rebirth.

Each subsequent stage brought a new bodily reformation, bringing the practitioner closer to an existence beyond the mortal and dramatically extending their longevity.

The first three stages were considered initial; from the fourth onward, one entered the intermediate domain, where the transformation became truly profound.

He needed only one day.

In less than twenty-four hours, he had already comprehended enough to enter the first stage.

And in just one month…

He directly reached the eighth stage!

Jasmine, who deeply understood the nature of that forbidden technique, was utterly dumbfounded. For the first time in a long while, she completely lost her composure and began repeatedly calling him a monster.

And it only got worse when he did something even more absurd afterward.

He managed to completely learn the [Heavenly Hell Wolf God Tome], something that, in theory, should have been simply impossible.

The [Heavenly Hell Wolf God Tome] was recognized as the most powerful heavy sword art existing in that world. Cultivating it meant taking heavy sword mastery to its absolute limit, extracting an overwhelming force capable of suppressing any opponent head-on. Its foundational stage taught not only how to wield a heavy sword, but to comprehend its essence: its devastating advantages, its natural limitations, and how to maximize raw power while nullifying its weaknesses. Only after completely mastering this foundation could someone truly claim to understand the art of the heavy sword.

Only two people besides the creator had ever seen the complete tome: Jasmine's older brother… and Jasmine herself.

Driven by curiosity, she had once flipped through the book and, after an entire year of effort, managed to comprehend only the foundational stage and the first sword style—and that was already considered an extraordinary feat.

After her brother's death, the tome disappeared with him, making it impossible to pass down the complete art. All that remained were fragments of memory.

Even so, Jasmine still clearly remembered watching him train countless times. She recalled the posture, the movements, the crushing pressure of the sword, and glimpses of later styles. She decided to share those memories with Ren Zu, more out of curiosity than real expectation, wanting to see just how far his absurd comprehension could go.

The result surpassed all imagination.

From mere incomplete memories…

He comprehended the entire art.

The seven stages of the [Heavenly Hell Wolf God Tome] were mastered one after another, as though the knowledge had already existed within him and was merely being awakened. When he finally raised a heavy sword and demonstrated each technique to her, Jasmine fell silent. There were no more words to describe that heaven-defying genius…

Well, he found learning those two Profound Arts quite easy.

Aside from the learning part, the time he spent with Jasmine turned out to be unexpectedly pleasant. She revealed to him a completely different side from the one he knew from the original story: sarcastic, proud, temperamental… and, strangely enough, easy to get along with. She often became irritated at the absurd speed with which he learned—especially because he deliberately acted as though everything was simple, just to tease her—and it worked. Jasmine would cross her arms, look away, and throw out typical remarks of a haughty princess before walking off with wounded dignity… only to return minutes later, pretending complete indifference. Over time, he began provoking those reactions on purpose—not out of malice, but because it was rare to see her behave like someone her age instead of the lonely princess crushed by her own past. Little by little, the laughter that arose between them ceased to be occasional and became something natural.

As the months passed, their conversations began to go beyond techniques and cultivation. Sometimes they spoke about the Realm of the Gods; at other times, about places he had visited, childhood memories, trivial curiosities, or even pointless arguments that ended in long, comfortable silences. There were nights when they simply watched the sky together, no words needed, while Jasmine—for the first time in a very long while—seemed genuinely relaxed. She would never admit it aloud, but that period of tranquility beside him was something she hadn't experienced since losing her brother.

Without either of them exactly noticing when it happened, the dynamic between them changed. Her provocative remarks began to carry an almost imperceptible softness, and the natural way she stayed by his side stopped feeling like mere convenience. He also found himself seeking her presence even without reason, as though the calm he found there was too rare to ignore. There were no confessions, promises, or dramatic gestures—just a closeness that grew silently, built from countless small, shared moments, until the line between friendship and something deeper simply ceased to exist.

She wasn't the only one. Over those nine months, he also grew even closer to Hong'er and Ni Jie, who began appearing around him with increasing frequency and an insistence bordering on shamelessness. He had to learn how to entertain those two…

But without a doubt, the person he grew closest to was Hei Jiayue—naturally domineering, intense, proud, and absolutely direct about what she wanted. She made no effort to hide how special she considered her position, acting as though she were the only one with a natural right to remain by his side all the time. Still, there was something strangely captivating about that blatant possessiveness, as though beneath the arrogance lay a dependency she would never admit.

Over time, however, the attention he divided with Hong'er, Ni Jie, and the others began to visibly bother her. Hei Jiayue was not the type to silently harbor resentment; when something irritated her, she simply said so. She complained that it was unfair, that she had arrived first, that she was more important, and that he was an idiot for not realizing it. Sometimes she would cross her arms, turn her face away, and act as though she didn't care… only to return minutes later and continue pestering him as if nothing had happened. It was less discreet jealousy and more an open declaration of possession, tempered with fierce pride.

Fortunately, he had already learned how to handle that explosive temper. Instead of confronting her or trying to placate her with empty words, he simply treated her as someone special without making a fuss—teasing her back, yielding when necessary, and above all, not pulling away when she tried to push him. Curiously, it was precisely this lack of fear and flattery that left her most satisfied. Gradually, the irritation gave way to better humor, and she began acting as though the "victory" had been obvious from the start. Deep down, she didn't want total exclusivity… just the certainty that, no matter who else was around, her position beside him was absolute and unquestionable…

Well, since all four lived with him at every moment, it was easy to see how complicated things could get—especially when he was with the Little Demon Empress, Xia Qingyue, and Feng Xue'er…

Aside from his life with the various women, his duties as ruler, and his ceaseless cultivation, he also spent some time with his family. His grandfather and aunt had moved in to live with the Yun Family, and his adoptive parents treated them with extreme respect and affection, doing everything possible to make up for the years of separation.

The problem was Yun Che.

Now he was able to speak normally, but his mental and physical condition had deteriorated in a shocking way. His behavior was erratic, childish, and deeply disturbing, as though his mind had regressed to an unstable and unpredictable state. Unable to use his legs and dependent on others for nearly everything, he also displayed strange and embarrassing impulses—approaching any man without any sense of boundaries or decorum, which made coexistence extremely difficult.

Most worrying of all, however, were his compulsive habits. Without constant supervision, he could end up engaging in degrading and dangerous behaviors toward himself—putting anything within reach into his mouth, completely oblivious to the consequences. For everyone around him, it was a devastating shock to see the once-proud heir of the family reduced to such a pitiful state. Even so, no one had the heart to abandon him; all that remained was to care for him as best they could and silently endure that harsh reality.

Besides all of this, countless other small things happened—simple moments, almost insignificant at first glance, but which, when added together, shaped a peaceful and happy life…

And so, nine months passed in the blink of an eye…
