Chapter 38 - Aftermath Part 1

Two days after the battle…..

"Should we try and wake him?"

"I say we give a swift kick in the ass."

"Don't you dare, Blitz."

"But he might need to poop."

"You are so gross!"

Voices, familiar voices whispering all around the bedroom and stirring his tired body as the drift of sleep was lost from his grasp.

Noctis slowly awakened with a fluttering of his eyes. He was a little short of breath but that was due to the exhausted state of his form and how battered he felt. The only comfort was how soft this bed felt during his slow rise to reality.

When he did awaken though he was surrounded by a few demons with the first one being familiar in all these eyes staring down at him. Beezlebub, who had a keen and defensive look at a certain archangel that was sitting in a chair.

Cautiously she circled her way around and leaned over the bed to check on Noctis.

"Hey love." She said gently and caressed his bruised cheek. "Don't be alarmed."

Noctis was still half asleep and out of it as he found himself in a massive bedroom of red and gold aesthetic, snake-like motifs and a tent-like bed. This was not the bedroom he remembered sharing with Charlie and Vaggie. Then again there should be a bedroom or even a hotel at all, or these other demons looking down at him.

Noctis slowly sat up with painful reminders of the battle having taken a serious toll on his form and realized to his embarrassment he was naked under the covers.

"Yeah don't be shy now. We've seen your ass naked." Blitz said suggestively with a wiggle of his eyes just before Loona punched him in the head.

Noctis looked around after catching his breath and saw this room was nothing of familiarity except for the hellish daylight hitting through a window, signifying that it was daytime and they were still alive.

Still to the embarrassment of what the now writhing Blitz said, Noctis noticed he was not just clean but also wrapped in bandages all over with some hiding various stitches of dark magic that came from Stolas, who happened to be sitting at the edge of the bed with his hand glowing as another examination was forced.

"Where am I?" Noctis asked, rubbing his eyes of their heaviness.

"You're in the new hotel." Carmilla came out of her corner but maintained a suspicious eye on Michael.

"Mom….." Noctis thought he was dreaming at first and reached out with a shaky hand to grasp her hand.

It was real though. The touch and warmth of the overlord was very real and it made his heart throb as he remembered the battle with Adam.

"Did I…."

Carmilla knew what he was referring to and simply nodded while taking that same hand of his and holding it gently in her own. She knew amongst the group there was one thing that would come when she answered his question.

And she already had it ready at the side of the bed, a clean bucket for him.

Noctis thought deeply about what he did but showed by suprise not a shred of guilt or remorse for his actions. He didn't even retch or gag at the thought of killing Adam.

But there was worried silence when he just sat there looking up to the overlord, the most blank of expressions that carried tears down his cheeks.

"Is he broken?" Blitz asked.

Carmilla didn't know how to process this disturbing moment of her son, though her maternal instincts were screaming while Beezlebub started to worry that maybe he was in pain. But that couldn't be at all possible when he had so many demons that worked to ensure his healing would be smooth.

So why was he looking so hollow and crying?

"Carmilla…."

Said overlord broke from the drowning of her senses at the voice of the somber owl demon, and met his concerned gaze.

"Hold him. He saw too much death in that mountain."

How could she feel so stupid? Of course he wasn't in pain—not physically at least. She wasn't this rusty in knowing the pain of her own children, but then again she had years to learn her own daughters while Noctis has been an enigma since the day he was yanked into her limousine.

Finally her body moved onto the bed, and like any parent she made her position behind her own child before he rested back to her.

She started with her arm around his chest, then finally her free hand covering his face from the others before she pulled his head between her breasts and wrapped her legs around his waist.

"It's okay….." she whispered, pecking the top of his head. "There was nothing you could do. You avenged them."

The silence from Noctis started to break away at those words while Blitz and his fellow imps were wondering what had the boy so distraught.

"What's his deal?" Blitz asked, earning disapproving glares from everyone in the room and a punch to his arm by Millie.

It started as a muffled whimper, then a choke, then finally his sobs muffled and his tears streaking behind her hand that covered the grief in his eyes. Eventually it became full-blown wails that were dulled by Carmilla holding his head tightly to her chest.

"You have impeccable timing with your inconsideration." Stolas sighed to the wincing imp, before giving a whispered explanation. "You need to remember."

"Remember what!?" Blitz whispered loudly at the glaring prince. "He kicked Michael's ass, killed Adam. Big whoop. Death is a thing and he needs to stop being a little bitch."

Stolas could almost turn Blitz into anything, maybe even a toad, if his affection was not stronger than his temptation of shutting the imp up.

Regardless of said temptation though, said Prince huffed and hissed scathingly to explain.

"You heard what Lucifer said after he peered into Noctis' mind. He found all the remains of the sinners that were discarded after extermination day."

"So what?" Blitz rolled his eyes. "A few hundred doesn't—"

"Thousands Blitz." Stolas interjected and looked back to Noctis being embraced by Beezlebub as well.

Blitz paused on that and felt his body go limp with shock and disgust as the explanation continued with Millie covering her mouth and Moxxie just as silent.

"He found all the remains that were dumped off every extermination day. It's a massive graveyard inside a hollow mountain and Noctis was trapped in it. How would you react?"

Now Blitz was understanding, and maybe it was lack of sleep but he felt a throb of pity in his heart when he imagined the gory entrapment Noctis had to endure.

"Fuck…."

Michael with his hardened gaze simply watched the pain unfold in Noctis when he started to hyperventilate from his emotions, crying hysterically with no real control or any sense of it. He even stuttered so strongly he couldn't find his voice beneath the holds of the overlord and sin.

And for once in his immortality he felt something deeper than the pain of his strongest betrayal.

Guilt.

"Noctis, focus on me!" Beezlebub started making deep internal breaths. "In and out."

"Listen, Mi Amor." Carmilla urged the same and followed her pattern, hoping it would help him grasp the situation.

"What's wrong with him?" Moxxie asked.

Suddenly Noctis used as gently a sliver of power as he could to push both women away, and shot off the bed despite the pain coursing his injured form. He startled the archangel and the demons in the room as his magic formed shorts on his lower half and gave him just the burst of energy he needed.

"Hey back to bed!" Blitz ordered, only to shoved aside.

Noctis sprinted for the door, and Michael immediately appeared at the door to block his path with both arms out.

"Noctis you need to—"

"OUT OF MY WAY!"

Michael didn't even have the chance to stop Noctis when he teleported outside the door before Michael could restrain him, and bolted like a man on a mission with Loona yelping in surprise and throwing the tray of food she was wanting to bring.

"What the fuck!?"

She watched him sprint, confusedly through these confusing halls and disappear around a corner before Blitz ripped the door open.

"Loona stop him!" He yelled.

The hellhound didn't even argue, she just took off on all fours and gave chase with Beezlebub flying right behind her.

"What happen!?"

"I don't know!" Beezlebub answered as they rounded the same corner Noctis took. "He was crying and just snapped!"

Meanwhile, Stolas had a good idea what had Noctis so distraught and decided to disappear briefly to the new lounge room where everyone was gathered. Charlie and the others were trying to relax despite their worries about Noctis and his recovery.

"Stolas?" Said princess wasn't expecting him to come down so early.

"Where is Lucifer?" He asked sharply, and the Hazbin Gang pointed at the king of hell lounging in a chair much too big his size and interacting with Max and Chance.

"What's going on?" Vaggie asked after she sat up from lying in Charlie's lap, watching the goetia prince march over to the oblivious king.

Stolas wasted no time and grabbed Lucifer forcefully with a full tank of the fallen angel onto his feet.

"Hey!" Lucifer yelped in surprise.

"You need to leave now!" Stolas ordered, confusing everyone in the room now.

Before the king could ask about this bewildering behavior he came to listen with the entirety of the room muffling the sounds of breaking furniture and glass that was coming closer. Loona and Beezlebub could be heard talking to someone, followed by Carmilla and her daughters, and finally a very distraught Michael screaming as well.

"What's with all the noise?" Husk asked.

Just then the hallway doors burst open to show the injured Noctis standing there and scowling into the room with some of his injuries bleeding again.

"Baby?" Charlie was surprised like the rest of the gang but more worried about his bleeding.

"Suga what are you doing?" Angel asked and stood up to approach, thinking nothing of the power radiating from the boy.

"Noctis stop!" Beezlebub yelled as she and Loona closed in.

His attention snapped to the confused Lucifer and scared Stolas that was staring right back wide eyed and fearing the outcome of this conflict.

"Oh lords…."

"You!" Noctis snarled.

The anger was pronounced with how fast Noctis moved from the doorway and crashed into Lucifer with the hardest slam his depleted strength could give. It was fast, too fast for anyone to stop, and they crashed into the wall that webbed cracks behind the startled king who didn't understand what was happening.

"Noctis!" Charlie and the others screamed.

"Did you know!?" Noctis snapped, his grip on Lucifer's coat tightening at the thought going on in his head. "Did you know!?"

"Know what!?" Lucifer yelled back, only to have back slammed a second time to the wall.

Noctis didn't take that counter lightly as the entire Hazbin and hotel gang rushed over and tried to calm him down. He clenched his eyes shut but opened them wide with the snake-like pupils glowing just before he roared in a completely different voice.

There was no mistake of it now, everyone just heard the actual voice of The Leviathan and stepped back, knowing Noctis was dangerous and on the verge of snapping for whatever reason.

He used what strength he had to keep Lucifer against the breaking wall as the freed exorcists rushed inside to see the conflict.

"Did you know about the bodies!?"

A needle could fall and be heard after the gasp that escaped Lucifer, and for the first time in his immortality he showed the last thing that would come from his heart. His daughter was in the room though and he was terrified of the idea that she would see him in a different light.

Or in this case a different darkness…..

The only demon who didn't intervene and step back was Alastor, who sat quietly in his chair having tea and rubbing his hidden wound when nobody was looking. He relished how Noctis was so out of it that he would confront the king of hell about the mountain.

"Noctis." Michael finally formed into the room with a flash of light and grabbed the boy by his wrist. "You need to calm down."

Noctis snapped his gaze at the archangel, radiating malice.

"No offense to you, BUT BACK THE FUCK UP!?

"Noctis…." Charlie was stunned by her mate making Michael flinch at his animosity.

"Do you have any idea what's got his ass twisted?" Angel whispered to the just as bewildered Husk, who only shook his head.

The only brave one in this ordeal was the only demon Noctis would listen too. And his touch did in fact bring the boy to pause from snapping after his four arms wrapped around.

"Calm down." Angel Dust whispered. "Please."

Noctis narrowed his gaze back on the fearful Lucifer and let his anger cool down as he slowly released, but it didn't stop from there.

The moment he gave the relieved Lucifer freedom, Noctis grabbed Charlie and tucked her into his chest before flapping his wings at full force. He shattered right through the lounge window and soared into the sky with the princess screaming in fright while their friends were panicking.

"Noctis!" Michael took off as well and was quick to break the sound barrier, blasting everyone's ears by accident while knocked back.

"What the fuck was that!?" Blitz asked, making everyone but Vaggie confused by his abnormal behavior.

Her mind was set more on the problem Noctis caused, or better yet the one that was somehow causing the problem.

"What did he mean by bodies?" She asked, arms crossed and eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Lucifer froze on the spot, feeling all eyes slowly turn to him. The only three demons in the room who had strong ideas to Noctis' outburst were Carmilla, Stolas, and Rosie due to their private conversation after the new hotel came to exist. Their gazes were less critical than the others, but they were just as scrutinizing as both gangs.

"Why's Noctis so angry?" Millie asked everyone.

"Yeah. Why is he bent out of shape?" Moxxie asked as well.

You could see the sweat fall off Lucifer the longer he remained silent.

————————————

"Noctis stop!" Charlie dug her claws into his shoulders and wrapped her legs around his waist. "Noctis you're scaring me!"

They flew away from the hotel with Michael fast to catch up. Charlie dared not look down at the ground when it was higher than any altitude she was carried. All she could was shut her eyes and hang on while feeling the air sting her skin and Michael roaring through the air for Noctis to cease his actions.

It took but two minutes of excruciating pain and determination to to fly with Michael hot on his trail, but Noctis found his destination and landed so roughly it jarred the princess. She stumbled and wobbled before shaking off how dizzy it made her, and readjusted her crazy hair.

"Noctis stop!" Michael landed shortly after, catching up to the man limping to a collapsed section of said mountain.

The archangel suddenly looked back to find Stolas making a portal for everyone to follow through and see what had their friend so distraught.

Noctis heard the footsteps of his beloved princess catching up but refused to look back even when she was screaming at him to stop making his injuries worse.

He understood the stress his body was under but amongst the raw emotions burning to his core it was nothing more than a hollow numbness. After feeling Charlie grab his wrist and try to get in his path, Noctis continued to limp with her feet dragging while the others watched.

"Baby talk to me!"

After a few seconds of seeing the collapsed hole, Noctis stopped abruptly to Lucifer flashing into his path with his arms and wings spread wide and a pleading look both determined and angry.

"Get out of my way." Noctis ordered, his voice cold and menacing like when he transforms.

Only he wasn't transformed at all and Lucifer knew this had nothing to do with Noctis' power. It was just a simple confrontation of a very angry man about to make some things left in the dark for so long about to revealed in a terrible light.

"Please don't do this." Lucifer said, keeping his position.

"Noctis—" Charlie was stricken with fear but still brave enough to touch Noctis for his attention while Vaggie joined. "Baby just calm down and talk. Whatever has you so angry we can work through it."

He ignored this and despite the word of his mate, Noctis raised his hand and thrusted with a scowl that could make even the worst demons shiver.

In an instant he fired a beam of light without the thought of Lucifer's safety and destroyed the collapsing rock while Charlie started to wonder if something had broken in him.

Thankfully the king was smart enough to get out of the way.

The blast made a gust of dust that should've clouded everyone's eyes and had them coughing, but the suction of the mountain took it all in and gave a hollow moan of wind in the darkness.

The moment the opening cleared it became a nightmare of nightmares for those who were still in the dark about what had Noctis so furious with Lucifer. Skeletons, bodies that were decayed, decaying, or even disgustingly juicy from last year extermination, had poured of one of the many piles that made Carmilla look away with begrudging remembrance.

Not even Rosie found this be a delightful turn of events, not when her eyes caught the view of a few recognizable cannibals she had lost to the angels before.

The worst of it though was how Michael went silent and dropped his guard entirely at the carnage of Adam and his fun.

"Work through it?" Noctis scoffed and turned to Charlie, thrusting an accusatory finger at the bodies. "Is there any working through this, through the aftermath of extermination day!?"

Charlie had no words to say about the gruesome sight before her. Then again she wasn't sure what this was but it made her sick to stomach to see remnants of her people decomposing or have already done so. She hugged her own stomach and turned away while the others closed in to see the bodies.

"Is that….." Millie dared not finish her question

Noctis only pointed a finger at Lucifer, who was still watching his daughter vomit while Vaggie rubbed her back.

"Ask him, because I'm pretty damn sure he knows exactly what all this is!"

All eyes focused on Lucifer at that moment but it was still Noctis who kept talking rather than letting anyone question this carnage.

"You dumped them didn't you!?" He asked harshly at the flinching king. "Instead of doing one damn decent thing like having the sinners buried you decided to have them thrown away like trash!"

Lucifer had no way to turn this around, he was caught red-handed in his own history and it only got worse with Noctis not letting up.

"You don't even give a damn because I remember how you dismissed Charlie during your first visit to the hotel, how you talked about the sinners like they were garbage!"

"He's not wrong." Moxxie whispered to Millie, who shushed him.

"Kid how do you know it was him?" Husk asked after finding a battle of water in his hidden stash of alcohol on his body.

He was kind enough to give it to Charlie after she threw back up her last meal. Surprisingly it was possible for Charlie to turn a new shade of white.

"Are you serious?" Noctis shouted, making the drink demon recoil. "Do you know anyone else with the power to make countless bodies disappear!?"

"Noctis calm down!" Carmilla finally spoke up as the parent she is to him and stepped forward with Max in her arm and Chance right beside her, holding her hand.

"Mom you need to—"

"That's enough!" She interrupted sharply and leaned in with a whisper. "You've done enough. Look at your pups right now. They are terrified."

Noctis was about to shout again, but there turned out to be one weakness about him that nobody do better than the overlord herself. He froze at her scrutizing glare and closed his mouth with begrudging acceptance before seeing that it was very true—both pups were scared.

"You need to let Charlie handle this now." She scolded quietly. "This is her father, her family matter, and it is her job as Princess of Hell to deal with matters like this."

Noctis protested though, and he did it furiously to where he slapped Carmilla's hand away and stepped back from everyone.

"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!!!"

"Yikes." Angel cringed at how Noctis made his demon mother flinch and step back.

"Kid snapped." Husk grunted, but not out of his own annoyance of drama.

In fact he pitied Noctis, much like Beezlebub who had the best understanding as to why this was so hard for him.

"THIS IS BULLSHIT!" He cried angrily and poured out everything, gesturing to Lucifer and the bodies. "I KNEW WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO WITH THIS WHOLE LEVIATHAN THING BUT TO FIND ALL THE BODIES PACKED IN A FUCKING MOUNTAIN!!!"

Carmilla dropped her hard gaze at his tears, feeling her maternal heart throb while Clara and Odette just watched with her how fast Noctis turned to Lucifer.

"Noctis…." Lucifer had nothing to say, not to that gut-wrenching despair all over the boy's face.

"Men, woman, children….." Noctis dropped to his knees from sheer weakness of enduring this monstrous truth. "Even babies... did you not care…..you're supposed to be a king..."

"I….I am the king." Lucifer stuttered on his own words, but there was no real belief behind them.

"Are you?" Charlie growled, looking over her shoulder with a reddened glare Vaggie had never seen before.

"Is this bad?" Millie whispered to a smug Blitz, who crossed his arms and nodded.

"Oh yeah. His real doucheness just got caught in his biggest fuck up."

"Charlie…" Vaggie reached out to touch her but stopped halfway when the princess stood up and dried the vomit from her lip with her sleeve.

Lucifer for once in his life was actually scared of his daughter's judgment and couldn't bear to hear what she thinks nor see her side with the broken Noctis.

"Everyone stay back." Stolas advised.

"Charlie I—"

"You what!?" Charlie shouted and kneeled down to hold her mate, never taking her eyes off her father. "You never thought your actions would come back to haunt you!?"

"I love a good drama." Alastor commented before getting shushed by Rosie.

"Charlie I didn't mean for any of this." Lucifer said weakly.

His words only boiled Charlie more as she helped Noctis stand up, and turned him away with nudge for Vaggie and Loona to take him back to the group.

"Didn't mean what!?" She spat, throwing an accusatory finger at the mountain opening. "Didn't mean to cover up every extermination day from me by piling body after body in a mountain!?"

"Pumpkin I swear I—"

"Just stop dad!" She turned away hugging herself tightly. "I thought maybe after everything you'd change a little but I can see your hatred for sinners is deeper than you let on. You don't care at all, just that stupid throne of yours."

That was the straw that broke the camel's back for Lucifer. He wouldn't…..no he couldn't endure his daughter seeing him like some kind of monster. He ran over and grasped her hand so tightly it was almost painful.

"Charlie I am changed, I swear. I can see what I have done for so long is wrong but I only did it to protect you!" He pleaded to her, hoping that some understanding would come.

Charlie yanked her hand away though, so hard that Lucifer stumbled to his knees,

For once the king of hell was looking up to his daughter who scowled down out him, while the people he dismissed looked down at him.

"How many before it stops?" She asked coldly.

All he could do was look up pitifully to his daughter, knowing it was a question he couldn't answer.

"How many dad!?" She enunciated with a stomp of her foot, her voicing rising with each question that burned emotions to the point of showing her horns.

"How many men and women did you watch die?"

"Charlie I—"

"How many children were left to die under your ruling?"

He flinched again, remembering some of his faults from his own laziness and uncaring nature.

"She. Is. Pissed." Angel whispered to Cherri.

"How many babies dad!?" Charlie was shrieking at this point as her tail came out and lashed. "How many crying babies did you let Adam silence!? HOW MANY!?"

Lucifer did not have an answer to give his daughter. He couldn't when he never actually took into account of the many sinners that were supposed to be under his protection.

And his silence only drew her more to the one belief she always kept to herself—That her father only did things for himself, like a real devil.

She turned away but not to just break his heart by rejecting his hand still reaching out for her, but to show she wasn't naive to his power and capabilities.

Beyond her many years of parental issues, Charlie took her first step away from her father's darkness. Then another, and another with him weakly calling to her while her stride took her not just to the last person she expected herself to ask for help but to show she was grown enough to make her own choices.

"Charlie, you okay?" Vaggie asked, stopping long enough to watch her approach Michael and stop inches from him.

Now everyone was worried that she would say something regrettable to the already guilt-ridden and bitter angel.

But to their surprise….

"Can you fix this?" She asked, crossing her arms.

Michael was surprised enough by her genuine question that it made his hardened face soften just a little.

"In…. What way?" He asked with a pause in his voice.

Charlie narrowed her gaze on the archangel but focused her mind on the sobbing Noctis with a thrust of her finger at him.

"He saved your life. You owe him that much." She said sternly.

Michael understood what Charlie was demanding and nodded.

"I cannot bury all of them, but I can make them one."

Her expression didn't crack at all, but she nodded in approval of Michael doing this much for Noctis.

"Get to work then. I'm taking him home."

"Ballsy." Blitz commented, not remembering his own daughter would hit him whenever he got out of line.

Which of course Loona did again and made him yelp.

Michael didn't speak a word after Charlie turned away and made her way back to the group with same hard expression that had even the sarcastic Angel Dust a little uneasy.

"You okay sweetie?" Rosie asked, striding alongside her.

Charlie nodded, but the clenching of her fists said otherwise. She was trying her hardest not to shake with each step that got her closer to Noctis.

"I am. I'm just…..angry."

"I can tell." Rosie pointed out matter-of-facts and spin around to stop between the princess and her mate.

Charlie was on the verge of exploding as is but kept her cool with a strong bite of her tongue and strong remembrance that Noctis didn't need this.

"Take a breath." Rosie told the princess.

Charlie wasn't sure what that would but she complied with a deep inhale and exhale that helped her retract her horns. She did it again while Michael stood behind with his hands casting a gold fire over the bodies.

Seeing her start to calm down, Rosie patted Charlie on the shoulder and told her in a gentle tone.

"Now then, focus on him. Don't worry about your dad. Right now Noctis needs to go back home and rest because we both know he's more worn out than ever."

Charlie nodded, she couldn't agree more and looked to Loona and Beezlebub.

"Let's get back to the hotel."

"And miss the Jerry Springer drama, hell no." Blitz exclaimed.

Everyone gave the imp a harsh staredown before he reluctantly groaned and accepted his defeat.

"Ugh, fine. But there better be food or someone is getting their asshole stretched today!"

———————————————

After a brief few minutes of collecting everyone's agenda, Charlie was the first to step back through the portal made by Stolas. Unfortunately she now had another problem to deal with besides her disheveled mate that could barely walk after ignoring his own injuries.

Standing before her were the exorcists she and her friends hid away to give Noctis some peace of mind during his recovery the first time. But here they were, standing in their fearful group and watching as Noctis stepped through. They didn't even pay attention to Michael going inside a mountain hole, just solely focused on their situation.

"Oh shit." Charlie went wide eyed and remembered that Noctis didn't know.

"What the hell?" Noctis saw them immediately, and felt the tension of injuries rise.

"Oh shit." The rest of the entire gang muttered.

Much to their dismay, Noctis once again was ready to tear himself apart to put these exorcists in the dirt and was ready to power up despite his body suffering so much. Even with Loona, Beezlebub, and Vaggie keeping him up to walk, Noctis was trying to radiate his aura through his growing anger.

"Noctis wait!" Charlie spun around to stop him.

He growled and started to open his wounds again by how hard he was trying to transform. Until the most shocking occurrence with these angelic women took him completely off his guard.

As quick as it had come, his power doused and retreated in his body when these freed exorcists did not just bow on one knee but actually fall completely to the floor with their hands together in prayer.

The oldest of these angels spoke to him.

"We beg thee for merciful, Seraphim Lord." She pleaded without taking her forehead from the floor. "If punishment must be cast then I will surrender myself if you will spare my sisters."

"What?" Noctis said plainly, and you could almost hear the cartoonish fart sound of his power completely dissipating.

He was at a loss for words and remained still when she crawled to his feet and grasped his free hand tightly in hers. This was not on his list of problems today and right now he didn't have the mental capacity to handle it when Lucifer was coming through the portal and still trying to talk to his coldly ignoring daughter.

This exorcist, this being Noctis believed to be a monster, was so desperate to have her sisters spared that she pressed her forehead to the back of his hand and cried. Charlie was a bleeding heart as is and forgot her anger briefly to gush a little at the interaction.

The rest of her friends though were not so soft about it.

"I say we kill them." Moxxie whispered to Millie, who nodded in agreement.

"Down Loona!" Blitz whispered harshly, watching the hellhound growl with raised hackles as she held onto Noctis protectively, the same being with Beezlebub on the other side.

"I'm out." Husk held his hands up for a moment of surrender and left the drama behind to go have a drink, with Cherri Bomb to follow.

Carmilla and her girls just watched while Chance stayed at her side and Max fussed in her arm.

"I beg thee to spare my sisters." The exorcist cried against his hand, even sobbing with what had to be guilt. "We were suffering like Michael, controlled by that pig Adam for our defiance to his cause."

"You…..were defiant?" Noctis questioned and slowly fell to one knee to face her.

Said exorcist nodded and sniffled, not daring to raise her gaze to him.

"We were recruits who rebelled when we discovered what Adam's intentions were. But he used forbidden magic to make us cooperate, making any exorcist who refused to kill into his perfect machines."

Vaggie looked away regretfully as the room fell into silence, feeling that harsh sting of her past that made her feel cowardly when she almost suffered the same fate.

"I swear to you, I swear to all of Heaven, we didn't want to do this but we couldn't stop ourselves." The exorcist pleaded with her knuckles turning white from the grip on his hand.

Noctis wasn't surprised at this point and watched as she continued to pour her guilt on his hand. If anything he felt pity for these girls that were waiting to be punished like rabid dogs.

But he didn't have that in his heart.

"Stop. You're not in trouble." He said quietly, simple as that with her looking up in shock.

"But my lord, we killed thousands upon—"

"No. Adam did." Noctis didn't give her room to doubt. He hugged her tightly in his wings and held on. "It's okay."

"Ugh. Gag me." Blitz said, making an actual gag face.

The exorcist was frozen by Noctis' understand, she didn't know why he could be this gentle when she and her sisters were just the same as Adam. They were exorcists and she believed they had no excuse for their actions.

So why was he so forgiving?

She looked to Vaggie for the familiarity of a fellow sister, and doing so got her an approving nod from the former angel who stood there with her hand on Noctis' shoulder.

"It's a long story, but basically he lived being human." Vaggie implied and winked at her.

The exorcist then hugged him back tightly but released Noctis just as quickly when he chuckled painfully.

"Easy. I'm pretty banged up."

"I…. I'm sorry my lord." She was quick to bow to the floor again, but Noctis helped her up and offered as gentle a smile.

"My name is Noctis. None of that lord stuff."

She only nodded and looked back to her fellow exorcists.

"Stand, sisters." She ordered, though very light in her tone.

The others did without question but shared the same confusion while Noctis was given a hand to get back on his feet.

Unfortunately the interaction was cut short by a very impatient overlord that had enough of this stalling.

Not missing a beat in her demeanor, Carmilla pushed Noctis to the stairs at the disapproval of his friends and lovers. She was not harsh about it, but her intention was evident in how she glared at the freed exorcists.

"You will serve him when he has recovered. In the meantime you will answer to me."

The exorcists blinked at her command, and the one who was given understanding by Noctis stepped to the overlord.

"And who are you to order us around?"

"Uh oh." Angel Dust quipped as they watched Carmilla smirk at this exorcist.

"His mother."

That took the exorcists by surprise, enough for them to ask in unison, "His what?"

"That's right." Carmilla gave them a toothy grin. "I am his mother."

"Adopted." Charlie clarified, earning a disapproving scowl from the overlord.

Thankfully Rosie was quick to step between the tension and ease it a little with some charm of her own, before things went from peaceful to violent.

"Okay everyone, let's all calm down." She looked between the group and Carmilla. "We've all had a very rough day with what Noctis showed us. So how about we all separate and go our merry ways and figure things out later."

"Good idea." Charlie agreed and followed Carmilla up the stairs.

"I'll come along to help him heal." Stolas volunteered and made his way up. "I'm sure my daughter would rather not see him like this when she comes today."

"I'll get some stuff from my room." Angel told the princess and took off.

Chharlie didn't even pay attention or look back to her heartbroken father that was just standing there, watching her rely on everyone else but him and pretend as if he didn't exist.

His world was crashing down and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

"Well you know where I'll be." Loona commented proudly to Blitz with a pointed thumb to the stairs.

"Wait. What!?" Blitz shouted but she was already running up the stairs to help Carmilla and Charlie.

Beezlebub wasn't too far behind either while the rest of both gangs dispersed to have a free moment of quiet, albeit with some resistance from Blitz when Millie and Moxxie had to drag him away

The only one who wasn't at peace though was Lucifer. He remained a statue in place with a broken look toward the stairs, waiting with a false for his daughter to come back down and talk to him. He knew it wouldn't though, not when she knew too much now and he did the one thing she always hated.

He broke his promise of having no more secrets.

Besides his growing despair as a father, Vaggie was the only one left as the portal to the mountain finally closed and left Michael to clean up the mess. She made her approach to the free exorcists with caution but also understanding of their dilemma in watching Noctis disappear with the girls.

"What do we do now?" One of the freed exorcists asked.

"What do you mean?" Vaggie asked.

The eldest of the bunch stepped forward and answered, "We don't want to go back to heaven, not after everything. We would rather stay and serve his majesty."

"You'd rather serve Noctis?" Vaggie questioned their logic with crossed arms. "He doesn't like that, so I doubt you'll get far."

"But….. we want to serve." Another exorcist paused with hopeful glance. "If our seraphim lord is here then we want to be here as well."

"Agreed." Another nodded. "And if what the princess told us before is true, then we want to find our redemption."

"You're still angels." Vaggie argued gently with a pointed finger at their halos and wings. "You're not fallen like me."

"Then why do they feel wrong?" The youngest asked, looking up to her own halo with a somber look. "We feel undeserving of our status."

Vaggie was mildly surprised by their thoughts and feelings of the situation. She assumed already that these girls would be just the same without the sigil or Adam to control them. Yet here they were admitting to how wrong they felt being angels and wanting to stay and find what they believed would be their purpose and redemption.

She pondered all this and paced as the freed exorcists looked to one another, lost like a flock of sheep in a dangerous world that hated their kind. They couldn't be left alone to handle hell and its inhabitants after everything.

Vaggie then had an idea come to her head.

"Okay, you can all stay." She said in a more firm tone of voice. "But you have to earn your keep."

Lucifer heard that and couldn't believe it. He spun around and confronted the former angel.

"You can't be serious!"

"What?" Vaggie gestured to the angels. "They don't want to go back to heaven and they want to serve Noctis."

Lucifer had an eye twitching from the stress of this day before he shook it off and tried to play it cool with Vaggie about her decision. He donned his charming smile and adjusted his clothes before trying to act like the king he believed himself to be.

"Listen Vageena….."

"It's Vaggie." She corrected flatly.

"Right." Lucifer drawled and cleared his throat. "Listen I simply cannot allow this to continue when they are the enemy."

He reappeared beside her thanks to his fiery powers, and draped an arm around her.

"I mean come on, they're exorcists. Sure they were controlled by Adam but we both know they can't be trusted."

Vaggie could see the king of hell as clear as day and stepped back with a stern glare meant only for him.

"No offense but you're not in control here."

"What?" He laughed as if it was nothing and pointed at himself. "Uh hello, King of Hell here."

She wasn't convinced at all, but at the same time she barely had the heart to tell Lucifer the truth of the matter.

"Just because you hold the title doesn't mean you're the king."

"Say what?" Lucifer asked but had no care behind his voice.

"No offense." She cringed at her own explanation. "But just because you showed up one time to help doesn't exactly prove anything. Charlie sees him more as a king, and so do I."

"But I wear the crown!" Lucifer stated dramatically and pointed at the corrupted halo over his head. "And I do a lot for my daughter!"

"Yes but Noctis does more." She sighed knowingly the truth would hurt. "He's been here the entire time while you showed up one time and dismissed her dream. And then you come again to save her life and build this new hotel."

"Yeah!" Lucifer agreed and started to laugh nervously. "I'm her dad! It's my job!"

Vaggie sighed but tried again to get it through Lucifer's head.

"Yeah you're her dad but you failed her so badly she can't even look at you. You made a promise to her about no more secrets and those bodies proved you broke another promise. She is relying on everyone else because she can't trust you."

Lucifer's facade chipped away at those words, and he clenched his fist tightly while Vaggie walked away with the freed exorcists to help them.

He had a lot to think about, but unfortunately...

"Also…." Vaggie stopped midway up the stairs, keeping her back to the king. "Can you really call yourself a king when you've only done things for yourself?"

That question hit harder than what could be seen. A twitch of the bubbling anger showed in Lucifer as he watched Vaggie and the freed exorcists disappear up the stairs, leaving the last person in the room to slowly follow while giving his signature smile to the king.

"She's right you know." Alastor chuckled, making his way up the stairs after a mock bow. "Hard to be a real king when the one who is followed and wanted happens to be reincarnated friend."

Alastor widened his smile, feeling the hate build up in the now shaking Lucifer.

"I am the king." Lucifer growled.

"By word," Alastor stopped at the top and spun his head back with a crack of his neck. "But the real king is Noctis. After all, he is the leviathan and that means in time he will be the authority of both realms."

With that thought put in Lucifer's rattled mind, the chess pieces had been rearranged and a new game was to be played in the strategic life of The Radio Demon.

He disappeared into the halls, chuckling quietly to himself.

"And I enjoy being on top."

"So Michael is coming back?" Noctis asked in the midst of hot water pouring down his head, watching his blood mix in the soapy water.

Carmilla started another gentle lathering of his skin with the loofa Charlie materialized, while Odette and Clara preened the broken feathers from his wings and Stolas kept a respectful touch of scrubbing the hair.

Thankfully Loona wasn't in a possessive mood about the bath but rather the bed, sitting on it and waiting to have her time as he tail swished back and forth happily.

The only comfort after crying himself almost to sleep was the smell of the blood orange shampoo and the many hands tending to him while Charlie sat on the toilet and explained things.

She'd rather be the one who cleaned and tended to him but her heart just wasn't in it when the truth of the victims finally came to light. She was angry and hurting still from finding out just how cruel her father can be, but at the same time grateful that Noctis opened her eyes.

Now she just had to process and keep going.

"He's making the bodies into one." She said quietly, staring down at her hands with wonder. "I figured that would be best and that you might want to—"

"Yes." He interrupted. "I want to bury it."

Charlie nodded and accepted that before bringing the next matter that was spoken during his unconscious state.

"Carmilla and I talked….." those words alone made Noctis turn slight under his hair to face Charlie. "Chance killed some exorcists."

"At the compound?" Noctis questioned confusedly.

Charlie nodded and took a breath to collect her thoughts.

"Chance still has his magic but from what Odette and Clara showed in the recordings, his magic is uncontrolled."

"What did you see?" He asked, though his exhaustion didn't hide the worry in his voice.

Charlie didn't have the heart to say it, so Odette did it for her while the penthouse door opened to reveal Angel Dust coming in.

"He transformed back to his monstrous form, the one Lyoria controlled him as."

Noctis finally sat up in the tub and looked back to his adopted sister with the last thing he thought he could feel after everything.

Fear.

"I ripped out that unjudged. How could he change back and kill?"

"We don't know, brother." Odette said, simple as that as she took another broken feather and jarred it with the many she would study. "But he tore apart with ease and the only deciding factor that he is a child again is it involves you."

"Me?" Noctis was bewildered.

"Yes, because he said something that gave us implication of his mental state."

That was a new one even for Charlie.

"What did Chance say?" She asked.

Odette stopped her preening and gave the Princess Of Hell the darkest look behind those glasses, giving a dark atmosphere of truth before the words left her in warning.

"He screamed at the exorcists that broke in and said 'You will not harm my alpha'"

A dark silence clouded the bathroom with Angel Dust standing in the doorway. Stolas and Carmilla were the only ones who kept washing Noctis while he and his mate processed this dark answer that forbode a dangerous outlook about the sleeping primordial in their new bed.

"He needs training." Noctis said quietly with no real convincing in his voice. "But how do you train a species that is almost extinct?"

Nobody had a clue... well save for those in the bathroom…..

"You need a hellhound." Loona answered, or rather raised her voice to be heard. "If it's an alpha thing then he needs help controlling those instincts."

Everyone looked back to her, wondering if she was correct.

"And you believe you can help him?" Stolas gave her a skeptical look.

Loona rolled her eyes and answered in a mock tone, both amused but proud at her truth.

"Duh dumbass. I grew up in a kill shelter. I had to learn to control mine or I was gonna be euthanized for being out of control."

"And hellfire is Satan's specialty." Beezlebub gave her input after appearing from a flash of honey, holding a tray of food. "He could teach the pup."

"Satan?" Noctis questioned, feeling a chill run in the room when everyone but him and Charlie froze at the thought. "Why is everyone suddenly scared?"

"Because Satan is not one to be charitable or kind." Stolas gave a shiver at the thought. "He's the Sin of Wrath for good reason."

Well that much was obvious to Noctis when he was well acquainted with the Bible from his life on earth, although he was starting to question a lot of things when he had come to learn nothing is as written in a single book.

"Can he help or not?" He asked with a slight raise of voice.

"We will discuss this later." Carmilla decided that was enough, and started rinsing him off. "Right now you need to worry about yourself."

Noctis wanted to protest to that but had not the energy to do so, and there was the fact that Carmilla was glaring at him with definite challenge to her word.

Weakened or not, that same chill always ran down his spine when she looked at him like that.

"Yes momma." He gulped and let everyone help him stand up in the tub.

Clara snorted into her hand while Odette smirked. "Divine beast and yet so afraid of mother."

Meanwhile on the streets …..

Everyone in the streets of the recovering Pentagram City stared, watching Velvette pass by in the Vox limousine with a crew of her best stylists in the back with her, holding fabrics and equipment for reasons unknown as she quietly shut off her location.

Her crew gave curious glances to one another over the fact that she would make herself go off-grid so as to keep Vox off their trail.

"Melissa do we have the golden needle?" She asked in a surprising calm manner.

Melissa—her most prized asset— took out a blackened box and opened it with two separate keys, one for her and one for Velvette. The contents did reveal to the overlord's reassurance a golden threading needle that shimmered lightly.

Seeing it, Velvette nodded for the box to be closed and locked again.

"See to it nobody touches it."

"Of course but where are we going?" Melissa asked.

Velvette tucked her phone away and crossed her arms with her legs. "We're going to that hotel for a brief time to do some work."

"Charlie's hotel?" Melissa questioned, looking to her colleagues for a moment. "But why?"

Velvette hated explaining things in detail when she preferred getting work done. She groaned out of frustration.

"Because unlike Vox and his moth baby pimp, I carry some refinement in my status as an overlord."

That didn't make any sense to her workers, and it made her frustrated.

"Meaning I don't like being indebted to others. That seraphim prat did stop Michael and killed Adam before hell was wiped out, so call this my way of paying back for his services."

"But he doesn't work for you." Melissa pointed out, earning a sarcastic response from her boss.

"I know that but since he saved hell from total destruction it means I'm still in business and still on the top of the food chain. Get it now?!"

"So charity?" One of her workers guessed.

Charity, such a bitter word that was venemous both in Velvette's mind and on her tongue. She could incinerate this bitch if she wanted but that would mean finding a new seamstress to replace.

"No, you daft dumbass!" She grabbed the worker by her ear and yanked her in. "Need I repeat myself?"

"No ma'am." Said worker answered quickly and was realized that Velvette let go, leaving her only some redness to her throbbing ear.

"Good." Velvette snipped as she relaxed in her seat. "Now not another word about charity or someone is getting their lips sewn shut with their own fucking hair."

Everyone but Melissa nodded, but they knew better than to question or envy how she was favored by the fashion overlord who so bravely asked, "You are going to make clothes for Noctis, why?"

Velvette looked out the window and smirked.

"You catch more flies with honey." She insinuated with a glow in her eyes, darkening the inside of the limousine. "Or in this case you get the good favor of a divine beast."

——————————————————

Angel Dust was listening to madness after he came back down to the lobby. Lucifer was sitting at Husk's bar and gulping down another bottle while Cherri sat there hearing his banter. It was the most amusing thing today while they waited to see if Michael was to come back.

"And let me tell you something—" Lucifer slurred with a burp, unaware of his hat falling off. "Just because Noctis saved the day doesn't make him a king!"

"So does that make Charlie not a princess since her power helped kill Adam?" Husk asked uncaringly, his focus on the glass he was cleaning.

Lucifer's eyes were twitching with anger and fear at the memory of his daughter pushing him away.

Lucifer looked like he was going to explode from his seat when Angel Dust sat by Cherri and waited for a drink.

"His majesty having a breakdown?" He asked Cherri, taking the martini from Husk. "Thanks Whiskers."

"Jealousy suits him." Cherri quipped as Lucifer started ranting about how powerful he is.

"I built hell. I made everything the way it is now. I could wipe it all away if I wanted and nobody could stop me. I'm the king. Not him!" Lucifer took a breath and slouched against the bar, feeling defeat overcome his drunken manner. "My daughter hates me, doesn't she?"

"She doesn't hate you." Angel Dust spoke up and swigged his drink with a satisfied breath. "She's just pissed because you keep holding secrets even when you promised there were no more."

"I was scared, okay!" Lucifer shot back, looking like he was about to cry. "There are some things I just can't tell her!"

"Seriously?" Husk scoffed and started cleaning another glass. "And what could be worse than us finding out you dumped dead sinners for thousands of years in a mountain?"

"You think it's easy being the King of Hell." Lucifer pointed a finger at Husk. "I have a lot of big decisions to make when I'm working."

"Like what?" Angel, Husk, and Cherri asked in unison.

Lucifer was caught in his own lie and began to sweat either alcohol or actual sweat. Either way, the three demons grinning at him were eagerly waiting for his answer that would never come. He hadn't made any executive decisions in hundreds of years. Its why he had the sins in the first place, to do his dirty work while he sat idly on his throne.

"Well….." they drawled, waiting patiently.

Lucifer opened and closed his mouth repeatedly before he disappeared to try out his new room in the hotel, leaving the three to enjoy their victory in a silent laughter.

Meanwhile Michael….

Deep in the mountain a small sigh left Michael as he burned body after body with a wave of sword and collected the ashes as ordered. The stench was almost unbearable for archangel but he pressed on with making right in whatever way he could about the exterminations and Lucifer's disregard of respecting the dead.

Though the smell permeated, nothing was more bitter than his memory of what transpired here with Noctis. He hated it, he hated how so much death occurred, but most of all he hated....himself.

He couldn't even respect himself as an angel when all of this could have been prevented if he had just not taken Adam's deal so long ago. He should have buried his grief and kept fighting, and now he had to clean up the mess.

He wished for better and wondered if he was even worthy of being God's right hand anymore. And that's when his heart called out to the one angel who understood him.

He just didn't realize it until her hand touched his shoulder from behind.

"You look troubled, old friend."

He froze to her soothing voice and listened as she wrapped her arms around tightly and squeezed against his armor, as if trying to ooze the bad thoughts out of his mind.

"Even you can make mistakes." She breathed in his ear.

Michael didn't have anything to say to that, but he wasn't going to stay silent like he wanted. This angel behind him took his arm gently into her arms and pulled him to spin away from the burning bodies and face that smile she rarely loses.

She cupped his face and deepened herself into his eyes, seeing so easily the regret and the guilt that weighed his soul.

"Tell me your confession, my child."

Michael tried to look away but her hands stayed firm to hold him and his gaze on her.

"You have nothing to fear, my child. It is just us."

For Michael that was felt be impossible when he never did any wrong, but denial was a venemous taste in his mouth when the truth was not just in front of him but it was himself.

"I….regret everything, speaker." He said bitterly, hating this foul taste on his tongue.

The speaker smiled just a tad brighter and nodded, listening without a word from herself but plenty to hear from the archangel that gestures to the burning bodies and the ashes he was collecting in an orb made of his own aura.

"All of this is because I grieved for Romna. I didn't understand this pain when I thought myself stronger with how I lost Lucifer, my own brother."

"But this is a different pain that Adam took advantage of." She said warmly.

Michael clenched his fists and nodded.

"Yes, he did. I thought being asleep would ease everything until I was awoken by that damned sigil he used on me so long ago. I don't understand it myself when the pain is still in my heart."

"It's called love, my child." She told him, though it was confusing for the archangel. "You denied it for so long because of how insignificant you felt in making Romna's mind. But you know it true, the pain you felt when Romna passed was the grief of a father who lost his child."

"Then why can't I accept things now!?" Michael asked, yelling up to the speaker. "Why can't I accept this salvation Noctis gave me, or forgive myself for the suffering I could have prevented?"

"Because…." She touched her head to his. "That is part of what Noctis is has shown you, to be human."

Her words surprised the archangel, but they cracked a wall in him finally as her hand rested on his shoulder.

"Let's talk while you work on this." She gestured to the burning he made.

—————————————

"Why are you wearing my shirts?" Noctis asked while in the middle of a cuddle-session with Max and Chance, holding both of his whimpering pups while Loona stepped out of the penthouse closet with a sly grin about her.

"Because—" she posed with showing just a lift of the hem to give a view of her thigh. "I have nothing else on and I want my scent all over your stuff."

Noctis tried to keep a straight face but gulped like any man seeing a woman appear that way. It didn't helped either that Beezlebub did the same thing but used her powers to shrink the shirt she found to barely cover her, leaving room for imagination while they approached together.

Carmilla shook her head in disgust of the two and watched them crawl into bed to get under the covers and join Noctis after Odette finished up her examination of his body.

"Blood pressure is a little elevated." She told Clara, who noted it all down on the tablet. "Most likely from recovery but best to keep monitored."

"Heartbeat?" Clara asked for.

Odette worked her way around the sin and the hellhound to check the beeping cuff on Noctis' wrist.

"95."

"That's higher than the first time he was examined." Carmilla puzzled her chin as the Odette used a stethoscope to hear his lungs.

"Could it be that he's injured and resting?" Vaggie asked and brought back fresh towels with Charlie.

Carmilla wasn't sure herself but thankfully Noctis answered for himself, "Actually elevated is normal if the body is stressed."

"Yes but this unknown territory due to what you are." Carmilla pointed out and took the tablet from Clara. "To study angelic anatomy is a first with it being you, and it's all different."

"Different how?" Charlie asked, watching Beezlebub and Loona get comfortable with Noctis and the pups.

"A lot actually." Carmilla showed Charlie the data that was collected over time. "Enzymes, cellular structure, even bone density is different from a demon's. His metabolism is through the roof."

"Speaking of which, I'm starving." Noctis admitted, with Beezlebub quick to materialize a tray of fatty foods such as pizza and burgers.

Vaggie detested the idea of fast food in mass quantities and was about to snatch it away, but Carmilla stuck her hand out to stop her.

"No, he actually needs it."

"What?" Vaggie said sharply, crossing her arms as they watched Noctis engorge.

"As I said, his metabolism is through the roof and his body is burning through so much energy just to function properly." She checked the charts again. "For any creature it's to refuel, but here's the tricky part."

"What tricky part?" Charlie questioned while trying to peak over Carmilla's shoulder.

Carmilla frowned at the results Odette was getting.

"He's also refueling the energy he used to fight Adam."

"Is that concerning?" Vaggie scowled at how Loona and Beezlebub were snuggled up to him.

Carmilla remained silent for a minute only a thought to herself.

"I'm not sure, but we definitely need more answers."

"Why is it so important?" Charlie asked, and Carmilla both glared and pointed at Beezlebub who was surprised and defensive after finding her comfy spot.

"Because she opened the door."

"What door?" Beezlebub asked, raising a brow at the approaching overlord that decided to chastise.

"Because you said it during the battle with Michael that Romna never got the chance to understand this power back then. Which means Noctis is still an enigma of untold power and capabilities that have so far proven that even the most powerful archangel can be made to bleed."

"Okay, so what?" Beezelbub asked defensively.

"It means Noctis is still in danger." Vaggie answered for the group, sharing the same concern with Carmilla. "All of hell now knows this and it puts a target on Noctis and anyone affiliated with him."

"Precisely." Carmilla nodded to Vaggie. "Which means we will have to be cautious and he can't be left alone."

"I hate my life right now." Noctis commented with a deadpan stare, knowing what was to come next out of Carmilla's mouth.

"He needs more training."

"He needs rest right now." Charlie told in a stern voice.

"We need to enforce security." Vaggie argued.

And just like that the moment of peace was ruined with all three women now arguing. All Noctis could do was lay back with his appetite partially ruined, and just slip into his own little quiet world with Loona, Bee, and the boys having their moment of rest together.

But not for long….

"Uh guys…" a familiar voice came from the door, followed with knocking on the frame.

"What is it Angel?" Noctis asked after sighing.

"We got a problem." He answered, which shut the girls up immediately.

"Is it my dad?" Charlie asked, though her voice carried a hint of anger in it.

Angel shook his head. "No. Velvette is here and demanding to see Noctis."

You could hear a needle drop with how quick the silence filled the room. Everyone, even Noctis, perked up and stared together at nervous spider demon before they heard arguing happening between Husk and what definitely sounded like a very pissed off overlord demanding to see him.

The first to be defensive was Loona with how quick she raised her hackles and growled at the door while Beezlebub wasn't so worried about it. Being a sin and all, she was not fazed by something so insignificant as an overlord wanting to see Noctis.

"Well it can't get any worse." Vaggie commented.

"Actually it can." Angel cringed at correcting when Carmilla narrowed her glowing eyes on him. "Michael is back with that weird thingy Charlie made him do. And he's looking like he wants to cut her head off."

Noctis rolled his eyes and yelled out in frustration.

"CAN I JUST HAVE A MOMENT OF PEACE AND QUIET!?"

"Also Blitz is drinking all the liquor, Odette is here, and those exorcists are demanding to see Vaggie."

"Me? Why?" Vaggie questioned. "I gave them rooms."

"Not sure." Angel looked back to hearing the arguing grow louder in the halls. "But basically they asked to speak with you, something about rank."

It was going to be a long day….
