Chapter 387 - Chapter 387: Visualization Method!

In the past Ninja World, the reason so many shinobi feared the Uchiha Clan's Sharingan was simple: when empowered by that eye, Uchiha Genjutsu became overwhelmingly dominant.

Against ordinary shinobi, it was practically a dimensionality-reduction attack.

Genjutsu power is rooted in spiritual energy—in essence, the external expression of the soul. The soul itself is the core information system of a person.

Cultivation of spiritual energy in the Ninja World is tied to Yin Release. The Nara Clan are famously attuned to Yin Release; their Shadow Imitation Technique is a Yin Release ninjutsu, and generations of practice have granted them excellent spiritual energy and superior intelligence.

The Uchiha, through the Sharingan, also engage in Yin Release cultivation. The Sharingan naturally contains Yin-attribute chakra, and as it evolves, the user's spiritual energy increases sharply, which in turn expands their chakra reserves.

This is why most Uchiha, after awakening the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, can reach elite-jonin level immediately.

However, the Uchiha's approach to Yin Release is shallow. They focus on using the Sharingan, not on understanding or intentionally cultivating its evolution. Most breakthroughs rely on intense negative emotions.

While this method does strengthen them, it also creates severe psychological instability—hence the Uchiha's reputation as a clan of "problem children."

As Naruto continued refining martial arts and chakra theory, he eventually turned his attention to the true weakness of the modern Ninja World: the soul and its spiritual power.

A powerful soul can detach from the body and persist—an existence akin to a wandering immortal—capable of possession and reincarnation. Thus, to strengthen the entire world, Naruto developed a new and far superior spiritual cultivation system:

ThePhilosophical Visualization Method.

Compared to older meditation techniques, this was an entirely new dimension of training.

Naruto created three types of Philosophical Visualization Methods.

1. Star Visualization Method

This method teaches one to visualize 365 stars within the mind. When all stars are fully illuminated in the mental world, the technique is considered complete.

Its greatest benefit: Complete immunity to Genjutsu below C-rank, unless the caster has a spiritual energy level two tiers higher than the target.

2. Full Moon Visualization Method

This method requires visualizing the moon—crescent to full.

After its completion, the practitioner gains the ability to project spiritual energy externally, achieving mental detection far superior to standard chakra-sensing ninjutsu.

In the later eras of shinobi combat, Genjutsu fell out of popularity for a simple reason: most powerful fighters had endured countless trials, forming resilient spiritual energy that made such illusions unreliable. Genjutsu-focused shinobi were also physically weaker; once their techniques were broken, they lacked follow-up strength.

Old-style Genjutsu was also easy to counter. Disrupting one's chakra or forming a release hand seal could dispel most illusions.

But after the introduction of the Philosophical Visualization Method, the number of Genjutsu-capable shinobi rose dramatically. Battles became intricate and psychological; a moment of carelessness could put even elite fighters into a mental trap.

Strong spiritual energy further aided chakra refinement, making shinobi even more powerful across all fields.

3. Sun Visualization Method

The final and most potent method can only be attempted by those who have fully mastered both the Star and Full Moon Visualization Methods.

Why not start with the Sun Method?

Because visualizing something as overwhelmingly powerful as the sun without preparation would burn the mind. At best, the practitioner's spiritual energy would collapse, leaving them mentally broken. At worst, their soul would disperse entirely, leaving behind nothing but a lifeless shell.

Once the world learned to project spiritual energy externally, people discovered that the energy could lift objects—and even lift themselves. This ability came to be known as telekinesis.

The strength of the Ninja World surged once more. Science and technology adapted quickly, producing instruments capable of restricting spiritual energy.

After all, if a mech pilot were to fight in battle, and someone used spiritual energy to crush the internal precision components of the machine, the pilot—and the mech—would instantly become useless.

The emergence of the Philosophical Visualization Method had completely filled the long-standing gaps in the Ninja World's power system. Now, even when placed on the stage of the vast universe, the people of the Ninja World were no longer insignificant.

With multiple Six Paths–level beings present, their strength had reached a stage where simply attaining that level allowed one to tap into the chakra source of the universe itself—granting faster-than-light travel no weaker than any starship.

And now, the world also had Naruto and Sasuke—two beings who stood firmly at the demigod level.

Within the cosmos, demigod-class individuals were honored everywhere, considered great assets to any faction. After collecting Momoshiki's corpse, the group prepared to return to the Ninja World to continue training. They all understood the Ōtsutsuki Clan would not simply accept the deaths of three of their own.

"Things definitely won't end so easily…"

Naruto's calm voice echoed through the void, yet a solemn edge appeared on his usually relaxed face.

"...Naruto is right."

Sasuke stepped forward as well. The subtle shifts in the two demigods did not go unnoticed.

A faint sense of dread settled over everyone—an instinctive warning that something dangerous was approaching.

"Heh… hehe!!!"

A sudden, eerie laughter rippled through the emptiness, immediately making Orochimaru narrow his eyes. Even he felt that this voice sounded more twisted than anything he had ever produced.

"Who's there? Come out!!"

Uchiha Madara's brows furrowed as he barked into the void.

Everyone tensed. Someone able to hide from Naruto and Sasuke, and someone they were taking seriously, could not possibly be ordinary.

"Hehehe!!! To think I would be fortunate enough to witness such a grand spectacle…"

A shadowy figure materialized in the void. Only the upper half of its body hung suspended in emptiness, appearing vague and unreal—yet towering at least a hundred zhang tall.

"Parlor tricks."

Naruto snorted, raising his hand. A beam of shining light shot out instantly, piercing the mirage. The phantom shattered like fragile glass, scattering into a constellation of starlight.

The starlight swirled, gathered, and finally reshaped itself into the forms of two individuals.

Everyone's expression shifted. Recognition flickered across their faces.

Because standing before them…one of the figures was none other than Yakumo of the Shinigami Clan.
